The Waltons

Since I like family programming... I am a big fan of The Waltons series. In fact, several years ago I created a web-site to express my love and enjoyment of this very special family drama. It is titled: A walk with Grandpa Walton and the Walton family. You can view it, here.

As of yesterday, the Hallmark Channel stopped playing The Waltons and will be replacing it with The Golden Girls. This news is very saddening to me and other Walton fans who I know enjoy watching this every morning... and some I know, tape it each morning to watch later in the day.

We need family shows on TV like this - that teach values and respect for others. It is sad to see it go and be replaced with a show that is already on the Lifetime channel. I have heard many requests for Hallmark or some other channel to air this in the evening time when families can watch this together.

Please take a minute to Contact The Hallmark Channel and let them you know you want them to bring The Waltons back to TV!

I will be watching my dvds of Television Series now more than ever! For more information on the dvds and other merchandise of The Waltons, please visit The Waltons General Store. It is run through Amazon and shipping is free with a $25 or more purchase. Seasons 1-8 are currently available for purchase - while Season 9, is available for Pre-Order and will be released on April 28th. You can view all of the DVD covers and more, in the store!

Romantic Movies for Valentines Day!

Valentines Day...

It's that time of year, again... when cupid gets out his arrow !!!

I've been thinking of all the wonderful .... "Romantic Movies" that I love. As a Christian, I chose those that reflect my morals and views. I picked many, old and new, and put them in the It's a Wonderful Movie Store. I included traditional favorites like Casablanca and An Affair to Remember... and ones I love, like Jane Austen's Emma and Pride & Prejudice. Maybe you will find a few that you love there, too!

Also, the Hallmark Channel always plays the best romantic movies on TV! I recently watched and reviewed their newest movie, The Note II: Taking a Chance on Love. You can read my review and check out lovely pictures from the movie.

...And on Valentine's Day the Hallmark Channel is showing romantic movies all day - leading up to their premiere of a new original movie, Before You Say I Do. You can read the plot details, plus check out lovely pictures from the movie - by clicking on the movie title above.

Happy Valentines Day!

Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful!

It is bitterly cold here now - in the midwest! I hope you are keeping warm - whereever you are. It is currently -6. Brrrrrrr!!!! I am so thankful and blessed to have a warm home.

It is hard to believe it is already mid-January, but time lately seems to fly by! I have recently finally finished watching all of the Christmas Movies I had taped over the Christmas Season... that I couldn't quite catch due to Holiday demands and busyness.

I am working on getting all of them set up with reviews, but have a few more to go! You can catch all of my Movie Reviews, here.

My favorites for the 2008 Holiday Season were the Hallmark Christmas Movies! Let me know if you agree or disagree.

Happy New Year, 2009!

I just wanted to wish all of you... God's blessings and Happiness in the New Year!

I hope many of you enjoyed the Christmas TV Schedule. What did you love on TV this year during the Christmas Season? What would you like to be different next year? I was recently visiting the ABCfamily Message Boards and many on there were not pleased that ABCfamily aired so many non-holiday movies during their 25 days of Christmas Celebration. I couldn't agree more. I would have loved to have seen more of Eloise at Christmastime (maybe in prime time, instead of 7 AM), Sons of Mistletoe, Christmas Everyday, and The Christmas List (which seems to be a favorite!).... instead of Mary Poppins, Cars, The Incredibles, and others.

The Family TV Schedule on my web-site: www.itsawonderfulmovie.com, will be updated soon with movies for family viewing. This year it will only include certain stations. I will report movies from the Hallmark Channel, ABCfamily, Disney, ION, Lifetime, Lifetime Move Network, Local Sations, and maybe a few others, if I hear about any special shows or programming!

God's Blessings in 2009!

Memories of Christmas 2008

Oh, I can't hardly believe it is December 30 already! Where did the Christmas Season go? Christmas is my most, most, most... Favorite Time of the Year... and so quickly it has slipped away.

What a precious time it was... I cherish the day and time spent with family.

Our tradition is for us all to get ready in the morning, we still wear our jammies, though... have breakfast together, read the Christmas story from the Bible, Luke 2... , then open Christmas presents one by one! It's a wonderful family time. We are so blessed. We took lots of pictures and I cherish them!

I hope you all have precious memories of this Christmas and Christmases that have passed!

Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to his own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.

6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

The Shepherds and the Angels

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.

10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
