Once in awhile, the Hallmark Channel premieres a movie from the PixL library of films. For those of us who have never seen these movies, they are obviously completely new to us.

"Hometown Hero" stars Brooke Nevin, Jake Sandvig, Antonio Sabato Jr., and Megan Price. This movie first premiered on the PixL Channel in 2017, and it will be airing for the first time on the Hallmark Channel.

Storyline via PixL: A cynical divorce mediator (Brooke Nevin) is forced to care for a client’s dog. The mischievous hound warms her heart, and after spending time with the local vet (Jake Sandvig), she begins to find that maybe the true love she dared not believe in is actually closer than she thinks.

PixL Movies Scheduled on Hallmark!

I was asked over the weekend about PixL movies on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (HMM)... Which PixL movies have aired on Hallmark? And, when will they air again?

Well. First, I must mention - that recently two PixL movies were previously set to air this June on HMM, but as of today, they have been removed from the June schedule. Those two movies are "Love on the Vines" and "Win, Lose, or Love." They are both still listed on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries web-site, so hopefully they will be re-scheduled.

Secret's Out! New *SUMMER* Movie tonight on Hallmark!!!

Tonight's new movie on Hallmark
"Secret Summer"
is straight from PixL's Movie Library! (It originally premiered last Spring on PixL - details here.) However, if you don't have PixL, this movie is definitely new to You! And, it's new to Hallmark!

"Secret Summer" Movie Details via PixL:
Appraiser Rachel (Lindsey Shaw) receives the news that her top-notched client wants to buyout a small town’s beloved library to build a resort and spa on the land. Rachel is completely against the idea of leaving NYC but loses the argument to her boss. So Rachel packs her bags and flies out to California. During her first visit to the library she runs into writer, Jake (Derek Theler), who is researching the tale of Captain Black Bart’s hidden treasures for his next novel. With hopes of saving the library, Mrs. Archer (Rachel Ticotin), the librarian, pushes Jake to show Rachel what the library means to the town. Jake’s already got a lot on his plate with his research and taking care of his niece, Hailey (Chiara Aurelia), and nephew, Noah (Max Page), for the summer but he agrees to help out. As Rachel learns what the library means to the community she must find away to save it before it’s too late.

PLOT:

Storyline: As young and recently single parents, Clara (Helena Mattsson) and Alex (Corey Sevier) have two completely different styles of parenting. While helicopter mom Clara hovers over her son Oliver (Griffin Kunitz), Alex’s daughter Emma (Kayla Madison) feels out of touch with her father’s life. Their two worlds collide when Alex’s ulterior motives prompt him to run against Clara for parent group president. In a surprising turn of events, Clara and Alex tie and must work together to run the group until the mandated revote. The bitter rivals struggle for power, outfoxing each other any chance they get. That is, until the matter of raising their children puts things into perspective. As Clara and Alex begin to arrive at a mutual understanding, they might gain more than they bargained for out of this game of tug-of-war.

PLOT:

A town treasure, Cupid’s is known for its enchanting reputation of guiding guests to find love. Unfortunately, Cupid’s is in trouble. Chelsea (Haylie Duff), the mayor and Tom’s ex-flame, takes advantage of this bad news and devises a scheme to get the property sold to make way for a mall. Although pressured to save the bed and breakfast, Tom’s history of heart break makes it difficult to stand up for such a symbol of love. Sharing in his skepticism of love is Nancy (Arielle Kebbel), a new police officer in town. With Nancy’s encouragement, Tom just might make the effort to keep the landmark afloat after all.

When Duty Calls

Storyline via PixL:

Newlyweds Ellie (Daniella Monet) and Martin Skopic (Kelly Blatz) have reached a roadblock in their careers. With Ellie unable to get placed on her local police force, and Martin recently laid off, they are required to move into a retirement community with Ellie’s parents, Gary (Judd Nelson) and Carol (Daphne Zuniga). With hopes of being hired at their local police department, Ellie volunteers for the Sheriff Support Team Volunteer Cadet Program. While patrolling the neighborhood Ellie encounters a home invasion, and contrary to protocol, decides to try to track down the intruders. Against orders, Ellie continues to investigate the string of neighborhood robberies. In the meantime, Martin announces he was offered a position at a prep school in Maine. However, he’s taken aback by Ellie’s lack of enthusiasm at his news. With Ellie’s life in jeopardy she must find a balance to save the neighborhood and her marriage.
