Basically... she just predicts everyone will fall in love - giving them the courage to take a leap of faith and do so.

*Caution: "Hello, It's Me," starring Kellie Martin and Kavan Smith is premiering for the first time on the Hallmark Channel. The story is about Kellie's deceased husband who contacts her through her cellphone, from beyond, after he passes away. The slowly developing love story with Kellie and Kavan is sweet and interesting, but the scenes where her husband contacts her (after he's dead) are rather creepy and weird. I personally just couldn't get into this Hallmark movie. Also, this is one I would definitely NOT recommend for young viewers.

This Sunday is Grandparent's Day... so, I want to wish a very Happy Day to all of you Grandmothers and Grandfathers who visit here!

With the virus, I know it's not easy for grandchildren to visit grandparents right now, but if you still have your Grandma or Grandpa, please be sure to reach out, call, or plan some socially distant activity. I will be cherishing and remembering many precious memories of mine on this holiday... how I wish I could call or visit - one more time.

There are no new movies this weekend, but Hallmark Channel's Fall Harvest's weekly new premieres will be coming soon *in two weeks* - starting with Falling for Vermont on Saturday, September 23rd! Plus, new mystery movies return to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries - Sunday, September 24th with Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Home Again.


Also, at this time when so many people are fleeing their homes, wondering if they will come home again... I want to let those in Florida, and everyone touched by the devastation of Hurricane Irma, know - that our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. As I watch the news coverage my heart breaks for those in the Caribbean islands - who have already endured such loss and tragedy. Be safe everyone and please take care!

Movies about Grandpa & Grandma for Grandparents Day!

Grandparents Day is this weekend - so I thought I would update my list of favorite Family-Friendly Movies that include wonderful stories with Grandpa and Grandma! Here a list of my old suggestions - mixed in with a few new ones, too! Please, be sure to comment below with any "Family-Friendly Grandparent Movie" you can think of!

MOVIES ABOUT GRANDPARENTS:

A Grandpa for Christmas - yes, of course it is a Christmas Movie... but it is so much more! It is beautiful to see the relationship between Bert, the Grandfather, and Rebecca, the Grandaughter, develop over time. It is a precious Hallmark Movie!

The Waltons - no, this isn't a movie... but to me, Grandpa and Grandma Walton are such terrific Grandparents - they had to be included. Perhaps you could watch the best episodes with Grandpa and Grandma. To me, their best, is their last episode together - titled: Grandma Comes Home. I also love it when they celebrate their Anniversary, Grandma wears her gown, Grandpa wears a dark suit, and they dance... it's so lovely!

Heidi - Every one seems to love various versions of this film... about sweet Heidi and her Grandfather. I am particularly fond of the Shirley Temple Version. She is such a terrific little actress!

Come Away Home - This is about a Twelve-year-old, named Annie Lamms. Her parents have decided she should spend the summer with her Grandpa.... and then, the adventure begins!

The Princess Diaries 2 : The Royal Engagement -  Both of these Movies show the growing relationship between a Grandmother and Granddaughter, who have never met.

Meet My Mom - A Soldier Love Story - a sweet story of a mother and son, who go to live with her Mother... and start their lives anew.

To Grandmothers House we go... this is a sweet Christmas family film. In spite of the name Grandmother being in the title, she isn't in the movie much. The movie stars the Olsen Twins, as little girls and their goal is to make it to Grandma's House by Christmas. They do and she looks like the traditional grey haired, with bun, cookie baking, Grandmother. Perfectly sweet.

Generation Gap - A rebellious teenager is forced to spend the summer with his grandfather (Edward Asner), a retired World War II Colonel. Their differences may go deeper than just the years that seperate them, but the two slowly develop a mutual respect - and love - for one another.




Homecoming - This is a Sweet and Emotionally stirring story of four young children who seek out their grandmother, after being abandoned by their mother in a mall parking lot. However, their Grandmother, unfortunately, is neither welcoming or pleased to have them in her home, but eventually her heart begins to gradually open up to them.





Meet Me in St. Louis - A Beautiful Movie Musical, starring Judy Garland. The Film is set in 1903, in which a happy family is on the verge of leaving their hometown and moving to New York. An important part of this tight-knit family is Grandpa, who escorts Esther to the Christmas Dance!





An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving - When Isabella's estranged daughter Mary becomes ill and is too proud to ask her mother for assistance, Mary's daughter, Tilly, takes it upon herself to contact her grandmother and plead for help. Isabella's arrival causes an upheaval in many lives, but may also lead to reconciliation within the family.



An Old Fashioned Christmas - It's December 1870, and we pick up on the adventures of Mathilda "Tilly" Bassett and her rich grandmother Isabella, having toured some of Europe's cultural centers and are now arriving in Dublin for a month-long stay. Tilly's inner struggle is between being a society woman in-the-making and the Yankee farm girl that are her roots.




Dolphin Tale - Kris Kristofferson portrays the grandfather, who encourages his granddaughter Hazel and her friend Sawyer in all they do to save a hurt dolphin who has lost its tale.





Rusty: A Dog's Tale - Two orphans named Jory and Tess live with their grandparents. However, their cousins Bart and Bertha try to take them away because the two kids have trust funds from their deceased parents. When Bart and Bertha kidnap the newborn puppies, Rusty the dog decides to save them.




The Greening of Whitney Brown - Whitney Brown, a spoiled pre-teen from Philadelphia, is forced to move to the country, to her Grandfathers farm, when her parents feel the squeeze of economic hard times.




The Lost Valentine - Caroline's grandson encourages his initially-reluctant grandmother to share her World War II story with a TV reporter and the grandson and TV Reporter fall in love themselves.




Annie's Point - A recently widowed grandmother is determined to grant her husband's last wish that she set his ashes free over the idyllic bluff they called Annie's Point. When her son Richard refuses to let his mother make the two-thousand-mile trip, she takes off anyway with her free-spirited granddaughter in tow.




Where There's a Will - Richie Greene's latest con has failed miserably and now he can't repay his debts. And then...the phone rings. On the line is an offer he can't refuse: to look after his ailing grandmother Clyde (Marion Ross), who he's never even met. As Clyde's only living relative, Richie would also be the only heir to her estate, but he soon discovers that Clyde is anything BUT the naive old lady knocking on death's door he'd hoped for... Full of wisdom and heart, unexpected humor and the unpredictable turns of life, Where There's a Will is a film about the value of family ties and the second chances we sometimes take for granted.




Samantha - An American Girl Holiday - Samantha Parkington, a poised yet playful 9-year-old who lives with her wealthy grandmother in a country estate after the untimely death of her parents. Still grieving her loss, Samantha takes comfort in her friendships with new pal Nellie, a servant girl, and her dashing Uncle Gard, a successful businessman.




An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong - when Chrissa's family is having hard times, they move in with Chrissa's Grandmother, portrayed by The Waltons actress, Michael Learned... who is also there to encourage Chrissa when things don't go well at school.




An American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky - Saige is excited about the new school year, until she discovers that art-her favorite class-has been cut. On top of that, her best friend, Tessa, seems to be spending more and more time with another girl. For help, Saige turns to her grandma Mimi (Jane Seymour), a well-known artist and horsewoman, who inspires her to take action.




Parental Guidance - Artie and Diane realize that they're the "other grandparents"--the ones their three grandkids barely know and dread seeing. So when they have a chance to take care of Harper, Turner, and Barker, Diane jumps at it, dragging a reluctant Artie along.




A Princess for Christmas - Jules Daly, a frenetic twenty-something becomes guardian to her young niece Maddie and nephew Milo when her sister and brother-in-law are tragically killed in an accident. While balancing the daily hysteria of becoming an overnight parent... an ominous knock on the door comes late one evening... an invitation for them all to spend the Christmas holiday with the children's grandfather, Edward, the Duke of Castlebury Hall.
