πŸ’ Hallmark Announces Spring Premiere Date for 'When Calls the Heart' Season 11! πŸ’ -->>

Hallmark Media is looking ahead to the next season of When Calls the Heart - officially announcing today the news Hearties have been waiting for - Season 11 of When Calls the Heart will premiere this Spring on Sunday, April 7th, at 9pm/8c.

Spring is most definitely the season of new beginnings, and there will be plenty of new developments from the on-set in this all-new season... a budding new romance, mystery, and more! Erin Krakow promised, when she spoke to ET, that the Lucas cliffhanger would be addressed early on in season 11.

************************

This is the basic scoop, according to Hallmark's press release (see below)...

*Season 11 will include 12 episodes.

*Yes, Lucas (even though he and Elizabeth are no longer engaged) will return in Season 11.

*The upcoming season will explore renewal and redemption.

*Elizabeth gets a fresh start, complete with romance, challenges and new style.

*Elizabeth and Nathan's storyline will continue, as they'll navigate their growing romantic feelings.

*Lucas must confront his past in order to lead Hope Valley into the future.

*Bill and Rosemary team up to unravel a mystery, putting their entire community at risk.

************************

Once again, here is the official poster/key art for When Calls the Heart Season 11, now including the premiere date.

Hallmark Channel Season 11 promo:

My Quick Take:

I must admit, I was surprised to learn the Hallmark Channel will be premiering this all-new season of 'When Calls the Heart' this Spring. I had thought they might follow last year's pattern of premiering in the Summer and leading up until Christmas. However, I think this is an ideal time since, as I mentioned above, Spring is the time of new beginnings, and as we all know, this new season of WCTH will be full of them.

This is another difficult turning point for the WCTH series, and they've certainly had their share. I personally thought the death of Jack (Daniel Lissing) would, to put it bluntly, be the death of the show, and then, when Abigail (Lori Loughlin) was gone, I just wasn't sure how they could possibly go on. But each time they did, even when Nathan fans were crushed when Elizabeth initially chose Lucas. Each hurdle has been overcome, and I expect this will be no different.

I know it's hard for the Lucas fans to see this turn of events. An engagement is a VERY serious commitment and should be taken VERY seriously, but if someone is engaged and in that time they feel being married to that person is wrong, I do believe they should not follow through. It's a tough situation, whether in real-life or simply on a TV show.

I'm hoping many viewers will once again return to Hope Valley and find that original something they love about the series, whether it is the love of community, the inquisitive schoolchildren, or how the characters, in good times or in times of adversity, always draw strength from their faith.

AFTER A CLIFFHANGER SEASON
10 FINALE OF
“WHEN CALLS THE HEART”
BRINGS MANY CHANGES
(AND SURPRISES)
IN ITS 11th SEASON,
PREMIERING SUNDAY, APRIL 7TH

STUDIO CITY, CA – Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024 – It’s news that will get the Hearties’ hearts racing! After an electrifying finale left fans and viewers stunned last October, Hallmark Channel announced today that season 11 of their longest-running original series, “When Calls the Heart,” will make its return in a few months! Coming off an exciting Season 10 finale, this season brings the promise of a new start, romance, community, and reunion. Season 11 premieres on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 9pm/8c with a total of 12 episodes!

In season 11 of “When Calls the Heart,” schoolteacher Elizabeth Thornton embarks on a fresh start – with new romance, new challenges, and new style. She and Mountie Nathan Grant navigate their growing romantic feelings while also leaning on each other for support as they face new parenting obstacles. Newly elected Governor Lucas Bouchard must confront his past in order to embrace his strengths and lead Hope Valley into the future. Retired Mountie Bill Avery and newspaper reporter Rosemary Coulter team up to unravel a mystery putting their entire community at risk. This season explores renewal, redemption, and of course romance as Hope Valley enters the 1920’s.

“If there’s anything we can take away from the success of “When Calls the Heart”, it’s that these stories, these characters, and essentially their lives, is that they resonate and they matter deeply to so many of our viewers,” said Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President, Programming. “11 seasons is a celebration of the kind of heartwarming content that we strive to bring to the fans every year.”

“When Calls the Heart,” the longest-running Hallmark Channel original series, proves viewers always want more of Hope Valley: Season 10 concluded on a ratings-high note, securing Hallmark Channel’s title as the #1 most-watched entertainment cable network on weekends throughout its 12-week run among key demographics. Dovetailing the top network rank, Season 10 delivered the #1 most-watched entertainment cable program every Sunday among Women 18+. What’s more, the finale episode was crowned the #1 most-watched entertainment cable program on Sunday and of the week among key demos, as well as the most-watched episode of the season.

“Time has flown by since the end of season 10 and I cannot put into words how thrilled I am for the premiere of Season 11 of “When Calls the Heart,” said Erin Krakow, series star and executive producer. “It’s such a warm feeling to know that we have the loyalty, love, and longevity to make it this far and that is a true testament to our viewers. I’m beyond proud and grateful to our hardworking crew, writers, producers, cast, and Hallmark Channel for their vision and support. I cannot wait for viewers to tune in to this season and to continue on this journey with all of us! Season 11 delivers more heart than ever before!”

  1. I thought it would come mid spring since that other show is running on Hallmark now through February/March. I can't wait. But unfortunately I might have to wait until it's on dvd since I don't have A Hallmark subscription anymore. Until then I'll watch the highlights and continue with the previous seasons in order. I'm on S7 now.

I was thinking the same thing earlier... They went through the hardships of Jack passing away and thankfully they continued to grow, same with Abigail. And through that we gained Rosemary(snd Lee) taking on a higher role. And to me it made the show better. I can't wait to see little Jack and little Goldie together!! I'm also so thankful to have a show that I love that is faith based. Some might call it a soap opera, but really it's a show of special characters living in a community who truly care and support one another and I can't get enough of that. A breath of fresh air! What a great way to start this spring!!❤🌀

  2. All this is doing is make me more convinced that staying with this show isn't worth it anymore. Back when Jack left, I wasn't really into all the relationship drama, But this feels more personal. There was absolutely zero reason for Season 10 to have unfolded the way it did after all the hubaloo about how the right choice was made at the end of Season 8. And the way they just reversed course on it with no warning is an absolute betrayal to all the fans and a sign that this show clearly should've ended earlier.

    2. There were signs all throughout season 10 that Elizabeth wasn’t sure about marrying Lucas anymore.

First, it was the big house that Lucas wanted to build but Elizabeth was happy living in the row house next to Rosemary and Lee. It was obvious at that point that Lucas really didn’t understand Elizabeth at all.

Throughout season 10, Lucas appeared to want more, a different lifestyle than Elizabeth wanted.

This isn’t just about Elizabeth choosing Nathan, Lucas was also choosing to move on to something bigger and greater in his mind. Elizabeth and Hope Valley were no longer enough for him.

Let’s not forget, the engagement breakup was a mutual decision. Lucas was ready to move on. Angela

    3. Angela, I completely agree with you. It was a completely mutual decision.

    4. So what?! None of that would've happened if the writers didn't one day decide to make it all that way! Season 10 was nothing but a giant betrayal just to repeat a love story that ended at teh end of Season 5. -Maria

    6. The shortener who chose Lucas messed up. The fans let him know then. The connection is deeper with Nathan. Possibly because of Erin and Kevin's friendship, but the chemistry is there. This new showrunner saw it. Also, like any drama you need to shake things up. I for one am excited.

  3. Yay! I thought we would have to wait until July again.

  4. I’m going to get my Debbie downer-ish comment out of the way. πŸ˜‚ I wish I was excited about this but I’m not. E didn’t appear to be a woman wondering if she should go through with marrying a man because it might be wrong. She came off as a woman who was fearful, afraid of change, and tempted by a man who she should never have been alone with in her house at night. Instead of discussing her fears with Lucas, who according to season 8 and 9, was her true love, she confided in a man who previously told her that he was in love with her. The lingering looks and personal talks made me feel as if I was watching a different show. It left such a bad taste in my mouth. At this point, Lucas is better off. He needs a loyal, faithful wife, not someone who can be pushed this way and that. I don’t have plans to tune in for s11. That may change. But right now, I don’t trust the current writers/show runner to do any of the characters justice. And I can’t stick around to watch characters I’ve enjoyed so much from day one become shells of themselves. I do hope that everyone enjoys it and gets the happy ending that Lucas’ fans were denied after 2 years. There’s too much disappointment and angst in real life to suffer through it in entertainment.

    Ok I’m done πŸ˜‚

It was so disappointing that she neglected to confide in her fiancΓ©e, instead discussing personal things with another man! Season 10 was a textbook example of how you should not behave while engaged.

When WCTH returns, “schoolteacher Elizabeth Thornton (Krakow) embarks on a fresh start — with new romance, new challenges & new style,” according to the official logline. “She & Mountie Nathan Grant (played by Kevin McGarry) navigate their growing romantic feelings while also leaning on each other for support as they face new parenting obstacles.”

  12. Here’s how I see it, Elizabeth has finally listened to what her heart wants. Hallmark’s poster reveals all. It’s going to be Nathan. Take it or leave it. Watch or don’t watch.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Elizabeth and Nathan will come together this season, how their struggles as single parents will draw them closer. Elizabeth has denied her heart for way too long. Those of us who knew it was Nathan still knew.

    1. Elizabeth’s heart tells her that she belongs in Hope Valley with family, friends, & community. Her students needs her the most in Hope Valley as their schoolteacher. Hope Valley didn’t want her to leave.

Mountie Jack had white print to give Elizabeth a house. In fact, that schoolhouse & church

  13. My first comment wasn’t posted for some reason. Maybe I didn’t hit publish.

My personal opinion is that they wrecked Elizabeth’s character this season. If they had decided that she shouldn’t be with Lucas, which is pretty baseless after all romance of season 9, then let her just break up with him, and don’t involve another man. But the moment she and Nathan start exchanging longing looks and confidences, and allowed her temptation to break up her engagement, it became cheating in an early form. Call me old-fashioned, call me a prude, call me whatever. But it’s wrong, in entertainment or in real life. If we’re to believe that Elizabeth really has been denying feelings for Nathan for 3 years, then she has lied to Lucas for 2. And continued to lie to him, saying that she would accompany him multiple times, before dumping him at the train station. So, she’s either intended to be a liar or a cheater. Both are bad examples. I know that this isn’t a popular opinion but it’s simply the way I look at it.

    Rebecca

    1. We share the same opinion, Rebecca. Like, what was even the point of Season 9 if they were just going to make it all for nothing the next Season? She's clearly still nice, but that stunt she pulled last Season clearly indicates that she is not ready to love again. Heck, she didn't even have time to properly grieve her husband! If she's so stinking indecisive, then why not just hold off dating anyone until she is 100% sure she wants to love again?!

Yeah I know, too easy for a romance show, I know. But seriously, what was even the point of Season 9 after last Season then?!

    2. Maria-

You’re absolutely correct. If she’s still so traumatized by Jack’s death, as well as drawn to Nathan, but not sure she’s ready to be with him yet, then she should have remained single and not lead another man along only to break his heart. I can’t believe that the writers saw this and thought it would be a terrific idea. I personally don’t think that was actually the case. I think, for whatever the reason, someone behind the scenes thought it needed to be a Mountie so they changed the narrative and left their heroine out to dry, metaphorically. They’ve forever changed how I view this character. What they call “following her heart” I call disloyal and revolting.

I have been watching since season 1, stayed watching faithfully through the painful death of Jack, the loss of Abigail, and then to get this type of soap opera quality storyline is an absolute disappointment.

    6. CH Mom-

I feel the same way. I’ve watched from season 1 too, and never expected to be let down this much by the producers of what used to be a wholesome show. Sometimes I can’t even believe that they really allowed the new show runner to take the show in the direction they did.

  14. Elizabeth and Nathan were about to connect, they were interrupted by Bill

Before Bill came rushing in, it seemed like Nathan and Elizabeth were going to admit feelings for one another. After a lot of back and forth in episodes 11 and 12, are these two giving romance a go? What does their next chapter look like?

They are friends, and good friends have frank talks with each other.

Elizabeth and Nathan have each found their way back to that spot, which hearties know is significant from their past. They’re confused, & in a stew of emotion

  15. Will Lori Loughlin Be in Season 11?
Hallmark Channel previously cut ties with Loughlin, who portrayed widow Abigail Stanton for six seasons, after news of her involvement in the nationwide college admissions scandal broke in March 2019.

While there is no confirmation about Loughlin appearing in season 11, WCTH co-creator Brian Bird teased in October 2023 that fans could see Loughlin return to the show sometime soon

  16. Gosh, that new poster makes me want to throw up. I apologize in advance for this negative comment. I just don't have anything nice to say about the new WCTH.

Along with a few others, I'm beyond disappointed with how things went down with Lucas and Elizabeth. Agreed completely with Rebecca and Maria. Ultimately it was the writers who made the storyline that way and painted Lucas' character as seemed like he was incompatible with Elizabeth. It really didn't have to be written that way. The whole season was pointless. It's like they were running out of ideas and tried to make a story out of the love triangle. If in the end they were going to make her be with Nathan, why didn't they just make her choose Nathan in the first place? They ruthlessly divided the viewers, had Elizabeth pick one, then switched to the other one. I am not specifically team Nathan or team Lucas, but i am Team "Don't play with the viewer's heart", and Team "Why Couldn't they respect a commitment made with each other". Are we watching soap opera where the leads can just keep switching boyfriend? I also agreed with what Rebecca said. It made me so uncomfortable when Elizabeth confided with Nathan as "friends". That was cheating. I hate, hate, hate this type of storyline and I was in disbelief that the writers of this show took this direction with the show.

Sorry, I'm venting. Rant over. I will not be watching WCTH anymore.

    1. Beautifully said, CH Mom! I was also Team 'Don't play with the viewer's heart', and we were all ruthlessly played with, and I can't stand it! Even if I was ever Team Nathan, I would be completely insulted by how this endgame came about! I would never approve of making anyone look like they were cheating on whoever they were dating or engaged just to get an endgame, especially on a network like this.

I don't care if it's 'setting things right' or 'finally making her choose the right man', it was completely wrong to go about it the way the writers did. -Maria

    2. 100% correct. Although I loved Elizabeth and Lucas together, I would hold the same opinion of it had been the other way around.
