πŸ“Ί 🌟 How the Streaming Service Frndly TV has Changed My TV Viewing Experience... for the Better! πŸ“Ί 🌟 See Here:

Last Fall, several loyal followers here at It's a Wonderful Movie shared with us how much they enjoyed their streaming service, Frndly TV, which I must admit, made me even more curious and interested in this streaming service I had been hearing so many good things about. With the incredible amount of Christmas movies coming our way then, and with their encouragement, I decided to give Frndly TV a try, with a free trial in November, and now I must share with you all my fantastic experience with this streaming service over the Christmas Season.

I easily set up an account through Frndly TV's user-friendly website, and instantly, I had this excellent streaming service, which I must say, is much lower in price compared to others currently on the market. I access Frndly TV through my Roku device which is hooked up to my television. It was easy as a wink to navigate through Fndly TV's television guide and even easier to select a program and click record with my remote. I love that their service is very basic looking and easy to use - right from the first remote click.

Throughout Christmastime, I recorded many, MANY Christmas movies, old and new, through Frndly TV, which has an unlimited DVR! This was just what I needed since my recorder with my DirecTV was nearly full. Now that it is January, I've been missing the classic Christmas movies I love on TV; however, it's been easy and convenient to go into my Frndly TV recordings and select one of the Christmas movies I recorded back in November or December. And if I watch only a portion of the movie, I can effortlessly pick up right where I left off at a later time.

One of the best features of Frndly TV is that you can do a 72-hour lookback in their TV guide and capture something you may have missed. It's also easy to schedule recordings in advance. Viewers can even record multiple shows and movies at the same time. I love that! Plus, if I miss, say, something in the morning, then I can go back and catch it that night. Or, the next night. Or, even the next - next night! Or, I can simply record it and watch it months later! Frndly TV lets you keep recordings for 3-9 months (depending on your plan).

Frndly TV is also available to watch beyond your TV. You can easily access your Frndly TV account on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc... wherever you are! All you have to do is log-in to your account, and you can watch live TV, and past TV (up to 72 hours), and all of your recordings will be right there, too - to watch at your convenience. Wherever you go, as long as you have your smartphone (or another device) with you, you'll have your Frndly TV, too!

For those of you who have been having trouble getting your current cable provider to pick up Great American Family, if you obtain Frndly TV, you'll have both Great American Family and Great American Living, plus the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Hallmark Drama, INSP, Lifetime, UP-TV, PixL, and many more channels - see here! Frndly TV has 40+ channels in all!

If you'd like to give Frndly TV a try, click here to visit Frndly TV's website and set up an account with a free trial today!

Happy movie-watching, everyone!

Blessings to you all, Net

Add a ditto from me. By word of mouth and positive remarks and online, I signed up for Frndly streaming service. It offered GAC Family and Hallmark channels. The additional channels of history and documentary type channels were of interest to my husband and me. We sometimes watch old t.v. shows we like.

The method to save shows to watch is easy. And at this time the fee for the service is affordable. I hope the service does not increase fees in the future.

The streaming service may be a fit for some folks.
The best to everyone in the Itsawonderfulmovie community in 2023.

    1. Gabe's Mom, So good to hear how much you've been enjoying Frndly TV. I also keep hoping the fee doesn't increase. I agree, it's doable right now.

My family also likes the old shows, like Leave it to Beaver, Hazel, I Love Lucy, etc. It's nice to be able to record them all and watch whenever we choose. We've only done that a handful of times since Christmas, though, since we still have so many Christmas movies to watch. I'm sure they will come in handy when we finish watching Christmas, whenever that happens. Still have many to go!

Thank you for sharing with us! God's blessings to you and yours!!! :)

  2. Net, since I've watched the 3 new Wedding Veil movies this year, I hope Hallmark continues with it next year. I want to know more about Emma & Paolo and baby Arianna, as well as Tracy, Nick & Leo. Not to forget Peter, Avery and Daniel. I am totally hooked and love every minute of it.

    1. Yes Estra!! I would really love to see more from the Wedding Veil young families too!

Since Hallmark gave us a second trilogy for the Wedding Veil, it gives hope that maybe one day we'll have the same for "All of My Heart" with Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott.

    2. Estra, Not sure what they plan to do, but the main actresses in "The Wedding Veil" have expressed interest in continuing.

I would also love to see more "All of My Heart!" I always thought they should do a Christmas movie. Wouldn't that be fun at Emily's B&B.

  3. I have been promoting and using Frndly TV since they started the streaming service a few years ago. It's really great during Christmas season especially because they have all the main Christmas channels that a lot of the other more expensive streaming services don't have in full. One service will be missing Hallmark. One is missing Lifetime. One is missing Great American Family. Frndly TV has all my favorite Christmas channels in one cheap package for a fraction of the cost that the other streamers like Youtube TV or Hulu with Live TV etc are. Best $10.99 investment out there. And that is for their most expensive package because I like having my recordings for 9 months. I tend to watch the new Christmas movies all year now because there are so many. Like Net said, no need to worry about DVR space limits. You get unlimited recording. Just know that the recordings will be gone in 9 months with top plan (3 months with lesser plan). However, every time you record it it resets the 9 months so once Christmas in July comes around or any other time you can record everything again and get a fresh 9 months. You can literally record every single movie and tv show on the service for all days and all times. Everything is in the cloud.

    1. Jim, You are definitely one of the people who encouraged me to try Frndly TV! You've been singing it's praises for so long, and when others started to echo what you said, I just had to give it a try. I'm so grateful you took the time and effort to share with us all how much you enjoyed this service. Thank you! Thank you! It really has made watching the Christmas movies easier and even more enjoyable.

    1. Yes, I just heard this news today, too! Candace will also be a presenter for the program. Looking forward to hearing more details. I'm hoping one of the networks will air it, as they've done in the past.

  5. Friendly TV is my go to - I have recorded so much and watch them on my phone or tablet whenever I can. Plus, I can also watch channels live - my granddaughter has discovered Little House on the Prairie on my App and she just loves picking fun shows.... So glad you have found an awesome treasurer.... ENJOY!!

  6. I use it on our guest room TV, which is not hooked up to cable, through a Roku device, too. It's perfect for getting a few channels I can't get with my other provider.

    1. That is such a good idea to use Frndly TV in your guest room. If there's a certain time you know someone is visiting, you could just do it for a month so they can have their own selection of programming. What a nice thing to do for your guests! You are such a wonderful, thoughtful hostess.

  8. I would switch to it, but I don’t like that I can’t keep my recordings forever

    ReplyDelete

    1. Anonymous, I agree! I have some movies recorded that might not be shown again, plus there are no dvd's available. My recordings are there forever or until my DVR breaks.

    2. Anonymous and kitkat, I know what you mean; that was the only drawback for me, but Frndly TV has made watching the enormous amount of Christmas movies so much easier. Plus, I wasn't able to record more than one movie at a time before, so that has been a great bonus for me, especially at Christmastime, when all the networks seem to premiere their new Christmas movies at the same time.

    3. The service I use lets me record multiple channels at once. Not as big a deal for me because I don’t watch all the Christmas movies. Mainly GAF, especially since Hallmark started being non family friendly. And yeah, being able to keep recordings as long as I want is worth what I pay since they don’t all become available for purchase. I’m still kicking myself that I deleted Lori Loughlin’s “Homegrown Christmas” thinking it would be on again. Hoping GAF will bring it back. I didn’t have as much DVR space when I recorded that one.

  9. Good review. I've been on Frndly since fall and I love it. Keep wondering why I didn't do this much sooner.

    1. Clara, Thank you! Glad you enjoyed my review. It sounds like you signed up for Frndly TV just a little before I did. I know exactly what you mean, I wish I had done it sooner too. It's been great! :)

  10. I have wondered if Friendly has commercials, or if there is a way to fast forward through them??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. iKneed1, The commercials on Frndly are just like the ones you see when you watch Great American Family, the Hallmark Channel, or any other network on other cable providers. You can fast forward a TV movie/show you have recorded; however; it skips 30 seconds to a minute when you hit the fast-forward button on the remote. I try to keep an eye on the minutes, because the picture doesn't show progression, until you hit play again. Each commercial break is generally 3-5 minutes, so I keep checking after I skip to 3 minutes later. It's not as easy as most devices, but it's definitely doable.

Hope this answer is helpful to you, iKneed1.

  11. Were there any GAC family movies that were nominated for awards from 2021 their debut year?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Chris, I took a look back and no, there were no nominees for 2021 for GAC Family, unfortunately.

Frankly, I think Movieguide has missed a lot of great programming that should've received notice, like When Hope Calls Christmas and Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

And from the reviews I've seen, I'm surprised Gift of Peace wasn't nominated this time around.

  12. If I may, while we're on the subject of streaming, does anyone subscribe to Hallmark Now, and is it worth it? I mean, do they change the movies frequently during the year, and do they show a lot of the older movies, especially the Christmas ones that they don't usually show anymore? I'm on the fence here and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

    1. Mark 25, I tried Hallmark Movies Now for awhile when When Hope Calls was offered there exclusively. At that time, they offered a lot of different content, and new movies are added monthly. I decided to drop it about 6 months later, but I still receive their emails, which promotes their monthly additions to the streaming service.

I just received this video via email yesterday, which promotes their new February additions:

Hope this is helpful to you. The HMN home-page shows even more of the movies offered.

  13. Net, you know I love Frndly Tv! I'm glad you're enjoying it, as well. I signed up in 2021 just to get the GAF Christmas movies because my Verizon cable wouldn't carry GAF. This Christmas, Verizon finally got on board with GAF but I refuse to cancel Frndly Tv because I feel loyal to them (and it's also nice to have all that extra dvr space). I would say the only very very slight negative is that it's not as smooth or easy to fast forward through commercials as it is with my Verizon cable remote (but that could maybe be the fault of my Roku remotes? or me?πŸ˜€). Before I signed up last year I looked at other streaming services and, overall, Frndly was the best option. I also like the Dove channels, which Verizon doesn't carry.
Frndly Tv is definitely a friendly option! Highly recommend.

    1. Jane, Yes, I know you love it! You, Jim, my Sister, and others are why I decided to give Frndly TV a try. The DVR space is truly awesome. At first, I started recording Christmas movies, and I was worried about space, but when I learned it was unlimited, I started having fun recording everything good, just so I would have it come January, February, March, etc... when the Christmas was gone.

And yeah, the fast-forwarding is a little different the way it skips; I'm still trying to master that. Wish there was just a way to skip the commercials altogether; I would actually pay extra for that. But I'm still glad I can fast-forward some of them.

I'm so glad I gave Frndly TV a try, and I'm hoping this post will encourage others to do the same. Thank you for all of your encouragement, Jane! :)

    2. Another nice feature with the 72 hour lookback is that you can still record those shows, even though they have passed. Actually, it's the best way to do it. Otherwise, you can't fast forward through the commercials. Say you forgot to record a movie that was on 2 days ago. Go back in the guide to where it was initially on. Select it but instead of clicking watch, just click the record button. It immediately records the whole movie for you and you can then fast forward through the commercials. The 72 hour lookback feature is such a great feature in so many ways, especially for such a cheap price. Also, I have contacted them about not having the thumbnails when you fast forward or rewind through DVR content. They are in some On Demand stuff though. They told me that they are close to having that option available so that when you fast forward through the commercials you will be able to see the thumbnails that show you exactly where you are when fast forwarding. Right now, it's a black screen that you have to guess through. I have learned how many clicks are generally needed to get through commercials but having the thumbnails show will be great.

    3. Jim, That is such good news! I hope they update that feature - that would be so nice! Now, if only they would let us keep a certain amount forever, it would be perfect! :)

  14. I'm a huge fan of Frndly as well, and another bonus is some of their Hallmark and other movies are commercial free! We also found the Sue Thomas FBI series on there. It's a Dove series, the main character is deaf, but can read lips. :)
