Over the weekend, Great American Family aired some BRAND NEW CHRISTMAS MOVIE PROMOS!!! The first one I saw played Bing Crosby in the background beautifully singing "It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas." Oh my goodness... there's something about hearing THAT Song, HIS Voice, and THOSE moving Lyrics... that instantly carries my heart away to the magic, awe, and wonder of the Christmas season.
πIn the NEW Christmas commercial GAfamily shared many of the actors we are anticipating seeing this year on the channel, including Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKellar, Cameron Mathison, Jen Lilley, etc... The commercial also shared one more actress we hadn't heard announced, yet, for this Christmas season... Cindy Busby! Last year, Cindy starred in Joy for Christmas with Sam Page. Looking forward to hearing what her NEW Christmas movie this year will be on Great American Family!
πThere was also a new promo commercial for Destined at Christmas, starring Shae Robins and Casey Elliott, which was announced to be the first Christmas movie premiere for 2022 on Great American Family on Saturday, October 22, 2022!
π₯ See Destined at Christmas trailer:
πAlong with the premiere date for Destined at Christmas, the commercial also stated this was the first of 18 New Christmas to premiere this year on Great American Family!
πCatering Chistmas, starring Daniel Lissing and Merritt Patterson, will be the second premiere on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
π₯ See Catering Chistmas trailer:
I'm expecting Great American Family to share their full movie schedule soon - so stay tuned!
Net,have you heard if there will be a When Hope Calls Christmas episode like last season? Or did they cancel the series?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I don't have any word on that. I certainly would love to see more of the When Hope Calls series, but I'm not sure if their any plans for it.
DeleteI wonder if there’s Christmas movies on Thanksgiving Week on GAC/GAFAM
ReplyDeleteI'm anticipating Great American Family will have at least 3 New Christmas Movie Premieres Thanksgiving Weekend, like last year. I'm just guessing, but I wouldn't be surprised if Candace's movie and Jen Lilley's premiered that weekend. Jen's Christmas movie also premiered Thanksgiving weekend last year.
DeleteI'm liking the look of Destined At Christmas - it looks like a good-old fashioned Rom.Com and it gives Casey Elliott the chance to redeem himself from the awful Retreat To Paradise - not his fault but the character he was playing was horrible - Florence
ReplyDeleteFlorence, That is so true! Casey's character was rather unlikable for much of "Retreat To Paradise." He looks like a much nicer person in this new one.
DeleteIf the young girl called Ashley Hall in the movie turns out to be Theo Hall's (Casey Elliott) daughter then it's totally ruined this for me - Florence
DeleteIn their trailer for the new Christmas movies they showed a clip of Trevor in a new movie. So he did secretly film one. Who knows who his costar is but the trailer was for their new Christmas movies so I highly doubt GAC is going to show an old clip of his movie Jingle Bell Princess when talking about the 18 new Christmas movies so it has to be his new one because all the other clips were the new movies.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that info. I haven't seen that commercial, yet. I'll be sure to look for it.
DeleteExcited for the Christmas movie season to begin!- Susan Ann
ReplyDeleteSusan Ann, Thank you for sharing the joy of Christmas! :)
DeleteLooking forward to the Catering Christmas with Daniel Lissing and Merritt Paterson. I am glad they have signed on to GAC. Thanks to GAC for family friendly movies. I will probably be watching them exclusively during the holiday season.
ReplyDeleteGabe’s Mom
Gabe's Mom, I think this movie looks sweet, too. I'm glad Great American Family will start the Christmas season off with this movie as one of the first.
DeleteCatering Christmas has me excited too! So far, all of GFAM's Christmas movies look good.
DeleteHearing that Bing Cosby song took me back to the very first Countdown to Christmas trailer I ever saw back in 2014. :) That lineup was why I fell in love with Hallmark. The trailers here look amazing! -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, I know just what you mean; there's just something about the beauty and nostalgia of Christmas that just pulls one in.
DeleteHappy to see your Christmas lights up Net!
ReplyDeletekitkat, Love your sweet comment! My Christmas lights are up and shining brightly!!! I'm getting ready!!! :)
DeleteJim, Aww... I'm so glad my words touched you! I so wanted to share the new commercial clip with Bing Crosby singing, but GAF doesn't have it up, yet, on YouTube. I have a feeling you will have the same reaction when you hear it. Hopefully, they will post it soon and you can watch it. If you recorded "Home for Harvest" on Saturday night, they played it during that. But, I've also seen it while watching other movies on GAF, too.
ReplyDeleteIt has been fun to watch Jen Lilley and Jesse Hutch, Danika McKellar and Neal Bledsoe and Candace and Marc Blucas share so much behind the scenes on Instagram while they are all filming their movies right now. And challenging each other to dance off’s. It’s hilarious!
ReplyDeleteJennifer R, YES, YES, YESSSSS.... that has been a blast to watch! I see Jen Lilley still has her dance with Jesse Hutch on her Insta page. I think I've watched it 6 times already! It makes me smile every time. I hope their movie is just as cute - because their behind-the-scenes stuff is so fun to watch!!! :)
DeleteIf anyone else is interested in seeing it, here's a direct link to Jen Lilley's dance video with Jesse:

Hope they put this on YT since I am not on Instagram.
DeleteI'm not on Instagram either, Kitkat, but the video at Net's link played for me anyway. Too funny! Jim, I don't know what to tell you! He might have practiced a lot in the mirror to make his kids laugh or something. Very impressive, lol. :-)
DeleteGlad the link worked for you!
DeleteHere's another link with Marc Blucas and Candace dancing...

For those of you who do have Instagram, Candace also added some videos in her stories from the set of her new Christmas movie.
Thanks Net! I tried again and it worked. These dances are so funny. Thank you!
Deletewonderful news
ReplyDeleteI think in years past, Fridays were a popular day for Network announcements of the year’s Christmas movies. Knowing that, I have to wonder if this Friday (10/07/22) will be one of the days this happens especially for Lifetime. On that evening, Lifetime is airing a holiday movie that they air quite often that I think was originally in the theaters (NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY) and “Dear Christmas” (LATE AiRING, from 2020, FAMILY FRIENDLY according to this website). I wonder if they will start airing their Christmas movie commercials during this time.
ReplyDeleteDuring Christmas time, I am always reminded that I don’t understand how acquired movies work.
1-Does putting a movie out there for acquisition mean that the original Network can’t ever air it again?
2-Is more than one Network allowed to acquire and thus air the same movie?
Thanks for any information you can provide.
Thank you for sharing that tip on Christmas movies airing Friday night on Lifetime. I was just wondering a couple days ago if Lifetime might air something Christmassy soon. They seem to do that every year in October.
DeleteI'm definitely going to tune in to the airing of "Dear Christmas," with the hopes of potentially seeing a Christmas promo! I am so glad you alerted us to this, and yes, "Dear Christmas," from what I remember, is is very fun and family-friendly.
As for when Lifetime releases their full schedule, it could really come at any time. In 2020, it was on a Friday, but last year it was on a Tuesday. So... who knows???
And, in response to your question... acquired movies are usually purchased individually by the networks; they are typically contracted to air only on that channel. However, streaming sources may also have the opportunity to purchase rights, as well. I guess it all depends on the negotiated contract agreement and distribution rights.
I found this lengthy article that explains it all in better detail. See here:
https://rodriqueslaw.com/blog/what-film-acquisitions-process-and-what-expect/
Net, not sure where to post this but this spot seems to be perfect.
ReplyDeleteI have been fighting an upper respiratory infection for a month. The medicines the doctor prescribed does not appear to be working, so this could be viral. Anyway, I told the Lord yesterday that I was ready to quit fighting. All my energy is gone. Then last night, I had a dream.
A woman friend appeared at my door. She said she was there to help me. She came in and also did several boys unannounced. Then this gold covered square thing without a head came through the door. Evil could be felt everywhere. It was utter chaos. I realized they were all demonic forces, there to harm me. Immediately, I started calling for Jesus to help me.
Suddenly, Jesus appeared. The demons vanished instantly. The woman was also a demon. Only Jesus remained. His presence was overwhelming! He was beautiful. All I could do was praise Him. I woke up praising the Lord. Today, I am so full of joy! The victory is mine, because by His stripes, I am healed.
Net, I felt I needed to share this today to give hope to anyone who might need encouragement. Have a blessed day everyone!
kitkat, Wow! Thank you for sharing your praise report with us. That is wonderful how the Lord touched you and spoke to you in a dream.
DeleteI will be sure to lift you up in prayer, as well. It's so nice to hear your joyful news.
I was just watching TV and I saw Kathie Lee Gifford's commercial for Balance of Nature. Have you seen that one? I love the part where she says - 'if you have a pulse, you have a purpose.' I believe God had a purpose for all of us, even when we can't see it.
Thank you, again, for sharing with us. God bless you!
Net, You are welcome for the tip. Thanks so much for the info. and the article. Who knew it was so complicated? From what I understood while reading, the original network gives up its rights. I find it hard to believe they would want to do that, but when good money is involved, I guess companies do what they feel they have to and only sell their low-rated films. I do not know what happens in terms of whether actors/actresses get part of the acquisition movie money, but they must like the notoriety associated with the wider distribution of a film. Again, thank you!
Deletekitkat, thank you for much for sharing that! And thanks be to God that you are healed!
DeleteNever underestimate the power of prayer...!
Jim, I have had many dreams before but I have never seen Jesus in bodily form. He had on a beautiful robe and His arms were raised as if in victory. He did not speak to me but His presence was enough. Even today, my joy is overflowing!
DeleteSo what will Fall Into Winter be about? According to People, Lori will play a woman named Keely who is "aghast when her brother sells his half of their family-owned, upscale candy shop to his best friend from high school (and her nemesis, Brooks) forcing a sudden urgency to find connection and common ground." Per GAC, the two characters are more alike than they realize. "Fate brings the pair together. Might it also offer new beginnings?" the description concludes.
ReplyDeleteFor those who haven’t seen it, Great American Community is now available on ROKU. It looks very similar to the Apple device app. I couldn’t find the monthly planner. Perhaps, that is still to come.
ReplyDeleteI know I hqve seen this question before; I may have even asked it before myself and forgot, but does anyone know of a good TV checklist app...something like the Hallmark movie checklist app? I am trying to make a list of a small number of Christmas movies compared to the large number there are. I have probably got 200 on my lists so far (done by network) and am just thinking there has got to be an easier way. I don’t really have a goal as I know I am not going to be able to get more than maybe 4-5 percent of movies on my list. I just want to be able to know when I watched a movie (add a date) and add notes too. A list like this will also keep me from rewatching movies I have seen again when I know there are so many I haven’t seen.
Jim, That is such a great tip! What a clever idea. Thank you so much for sharing that. I'm so glad that works so well for you.
DeleteHopefully, it will work for others, too! :)
Jim, I've thought about that App idea, actually, but I'm not sure how to set up something like that, and the blog keeps me so busy, especially this time of year.
DeleteI'm glad the Christmas Movie List page works so well for you. I just updated it today with the latest Great American Family Christmas movie news. Now... I'm just waiting on Lifetime, ION, and any other potential network surprises! :)
Net and Jim, Oh my goodness! I had no idea you could add comments and a checkmark. Thanks Jim! Unfortunately, I actually had many more movies on my Lifetime list than I estimated, so I was able to finish it last night. However, I could definitely use it for the Hallmark movies. Net, I have used the list Jim talked about as a reference for years and is where I got most of the information. Thank you! I appreciate the separation by network, the premiere dates, and how far the list goes back. I had an all-consuming job for years, and due to that, SO MANY MOVIES are new to me. Again, thanks to both of you!
DeleteNet, I have not seen the commercial you mentioned. Is it for some natural supplements?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your prayers!
kitkat, Yes, the commercial with Kathie Lee Gifford is for vitamins. I tried to find a video clip of the full version on YT, but I don't see it there. Another site has a small clip, but it doesn't include the comment I mentioned.
DeleteThanks Net for checking for me.
