  1. Ride is a rodeo-themed drama with Nancy Travis, Tiera Skovbye, and Beau Mirchoff.
Meanwhile, The Way Home stars Andie MacDowell & Chyler Leigh as a mother and daughter with a fraught relationship.

    1. That's right. Those two TV series are in-the-works for Hallmark next year.

  2. Don't hear much about Stephen Huszar these days but he has a new movie completed - Christmas In Rockwell.

Really hoping some channel picks it up - Florence

    1. Florence, Yes, I hope we see Stephen Huszar in that Christmas movie this year, too! I personally loved him in "A Homecoming for the Holidays" and "Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas!"

I think he and Emilie Ullerup make a great pairing on "Chesapeake Shores." His character's history of having served time makes for an interesting storyline.

    1. Chris, I've mostly enjoyed seasons 1-5 of Chesapeake Shores. I'm hoping Season 6 will be a good send-off for the show as they complete the series.

  4. I watched the third episode of Chesapeake Shores last night, and while there were some fun moments... like Abby and Evan's scavenger hunt, other scenes were non-family-friendly to me. Three unmarried couples were shown to be a bit too intimate.

    More Details (Spoiler Alert!):

Mick & Megan, who are divorced, meet at Megan's home to have the big talk about the past. I'm not going to go into major detail - but they disagree, at first, plus, there's a lot of wine drinking, and then they end up kissing and walking together towards presumably the bedroom. The next morning he is still there making them breakfast.

Bree and Luke - This situation is a lot more innocent. Luke can't stay at his place, so Bree offers her couch. She does walk in when he's preparing for bed and she sees him shirtless, but Bree turns away quickly and goes back to her room. Bree is awakened when she hears Luke yelling in the other room. He has night terrors from being in prison. She holds his hand and reassures him she's there for him. Next we see, Bree sitting up on the couch, reading a book and caressing Luke's head as he rests.

Connor and Margaret - This one really surprised me, since I wasn't anticipating it, especially in Connor's condition. Margaret takes Connor home and at first they are just talking on the couch, but then they begin to kiss... I thought it would end there, but in the next scene, out of blue, it progresses... then, they both suddenly stop and grab their phone to see if it's okay to do, let's just say, more, due to Connor's heart attack. According to the timeline they read online they decide to wait. While I was glad, I thought their decision should've been for other reasons, as well. Number 1 - they are not married.

I definitely felt like Hallmark crossed a major line here with this episode. Usually, they keep bedroom issues chaste or unspoken. This episode felt like something I would see on any other cable station or local networks during prime-time. It certainly was not the typical G-rated Hallmark I used to know and love.

I was really disappointed after seeing this episode; I'm not sure if I will finish this season now.

    1. I watched half of this episode and recorded the rest to go do laundry for the week. This doesn't even sound like Hallmark anymore. What's happening? I can't imagine what will take place before this season is over. Sure, Mick and Megan were once married, but they aren't married now. CS is no longer for family viewing.

    2. This really saddens me. I never thought they would ever go that direction with Chesapeake Shores. Now that they’ve done this, there’s no telling where the rest of the season will go.

I just wrapped up season 5 and watched the first two episodes of season 6, feeling very “meh” about all of it. I know Jesse Metcalfe’s departure is a moot point now but they just weren’t able to recapture the excitement of Trace and Abby’s relationship with Evan. It’s not necessarily the actors faults but they created a light, bubbly, but unfortunately shallow character for Robert Buckley and although they’re trying to give him some depth now, I just keep reliving his eye rolling remarks about his money in season 5. Trace had depth and he and Abby were great together. Endless dramatic twists don’t make up for the lack of powerful storylines.

  5. In this past week's episode, I was disappointed to see that they had Megan agree to move in with Mick.

    1. I agree, Karen. This season of CS has had a few disappointing moments like this. I do wonder what else may happen before the season ends with other characters. I'm hoping it stays mainly family-friendly.

Press pics have been revealed for the last CS episodes, and I was glad to see Mick and Megan will remarry in the final episode and Kevin and Sarah will welcome their baby boy.
