A Love to Remember

Original Air Date: April 11, 2021

Starring: Rhiannon Fish and Edward Ruttle

Story-line via UPtv: After a year of interacting exclusively online, Tenley, an eco-conscious horticulturist, finally works up the courage to meet her online crush, Jared. When Jared doesn’t show because of a bike accident, Tenley gets mistaken for his wife at the hospital. Soon, she’s forced to keep the lie up with Jared’s entire family and his annoyingly charming best friend, Everett in order to save Jared’s company.

Reviews:

🌞"A Love to Remember – This movie was, just as I anticipated, a similar take on the 90’s movie “While You Were Sleeping.” It is family friendly and fun, yet it’s a bit offbeat and eccentric. Most likely there will be some people who love it and others who don’t like it at all. I think I fell somewhere in the middle on this one. There’s some green eco talk and a quick mention of not liking plastic bottles and straws. (It’s not too over the top – I mean, who doesn’t hate trash and want a cleaner earth, right? I personally still like using plastic straws and water bottles, on occasion – I just don’t know why people can’t be responsible and dispose of these things properly.) Anyway, back to the movie… the lead girl, Tenley, is quite likeable and quirky; when she gets herself into some trouble, you can’t help but cheer her on to succeed. The one caution is – there is lying by omission; Tenley pretends to be married to one man, Jared, although she is falling for another, Everett. Throughout the movie she struggles nearly every scene with this lie, but keeps it up mainly to protect others and put their needs before her own. I loved Tenley’s joyful enthusiasm and happy dance; I hope you’ll enjoy this movie, too!" ~Net

🌞"A Love to Remember. Ugh, Net mentioned some people would just not like this movie and I'm definitely in that camp. I couldn't take this one and deleted about halfway through. I like some quirky movies but just didn't find this one to be fun or enchanting... more annoying and completely unbelievable. And I'm sick of holier-than-thou Hollywood preaching the "green" stuff ad nauseam." ~~Jane

Starting Up Love

Original Air Date: April 18, 2021

Starring: Anna Hutchison and Rocky Myers

Story-line via UPtv: When workaholic Jillian gets a note that her long-lost, wealthy uncle has passed away, she finds he’s left her his beautiful mountainside cabin – and a family she never knew existed! Jillian’s plan is to sell it as soon as possible and move on, but when she meets handsome caretaker Liam, he makes her an offer she can’t refuse. Sparks fly as they work together to transform the cabin into a holiday resort. When business doesn’t go as planned and she almost loses her newfound family, Jillian needs to make a decision. Will she give up everything for the love she never saw coming?

Review:

🌞 "Starting Up Love. Bit strange this - normally the main requisite for me is that their must be good chemistry between the leads and I don't think it was strong here, while not lacking. I'd never heard of either before but while I really liked the male lead I didn't think Anna Hutchinson was correctly cast although I did begin to warm more to her towards the end. I thought Charlene Tilton was good as the aunt much better than in her recent Lifetime Christmas movie and the rest of the secondary cast put in pretty decent performances as well. The scenery was excellent and the plot was actually interesting. Probably this film was made on a low budget and I suspect if Hallmark had made it many of the rough edges would have been smoothed. THE KISS at the end was rather anaemic - more like brother and sister if anything. Oddly though I'd have to say I quite it enjoyed it overall - I'd certainly like to see Ricky Myers in another role. No problems regarding it being family friendly." ~Anonymous

Designed With Love

Original Air Date: April 25, 2021

Starring: Kelly Van Der Burg and Benjamin Sutherland

Story-line via UPtv: Clothes designer Skye goes mobile with a “fashion truck” – but she can’t drive the truck and run the business alone. Help comes in the unlikely form of handsome entrepreneur Jason. As they work together, Skye and Jason find they have more in common than they thought… could it be love?

Review:

🌞 "Designed with Love - is cute and family friendly. As a lover of fashion, I enjoyed seeing Skye's love of design and ability to make people feel good about themselves and more confident. Skye's mobile fashion truck is a clever idea, and it's fun to see a spark developing between her and Jason, the guy who builds companies, sells them, and moves on to the next project. According to Jason's sister, Mo, he's not the kind of guy to ever settle on one business or one girl. Skye, in the meantime, is a magnet for guy's who won't commit, since her current boyfriend, Patrick, of 5 years, still hasn't proposed marriage, even though she's hinted. Patrick does, however, get Skye a job designing a dress for Mary B., a well known celebrity influencer, which will benefit his and Skye's career. Mary B's assistant is quite annoying and persistant in taking over Skye's fashion design, but he's not in the movie very long. Thankfully. Overall, I liked the leads, Skye and Jason; it was a sweet movie to put a smile on your face at the end of the day." ~Net

  1. This is interesting - I wouldn't have expected this one as it has only just been released.

I am on tenterhooks as to what UPtv are going to show during April and May as there are 5 or 6 movies out there with Hallmark "favourites" starring in them and I would be sorry if we didn't get the chance to see them.

Last year UP mostly went with films 2 or 3 years old in this period some of which had been shown on other channel before although this was surely due to the Pandemic.

The plot for this sounds quite good.

  2. Net, this is so exciting to hear! Thanks for info. UP is where I do most of my TV viewing now. So happy to hear Brant Daugherty is starring in another movie. We have not seen him in a while.

I do enjoy most of the mysteries on HMM.

  4. Reel On Entertainment are listing a number of movies as having been purchased by UPtv.

Only one of them on my "must see" list though - Cooking Up Love with Stephen Huszar which has been re-titled The Sauce Of Love.

  5. I saw the commercial for this on the production company website. They basically show the whole movie. I did not care for this one, but I loved the actresses outfits! I Wii be skipping this one.

  8. Starting Up Love must have been shown somewhere else before for there are well over a hundred ratings for it on IMDB.

    1. Net, I agree with your review. When Tenley continued to lie, I became irritated with her. Her happy dance was cute. I watched this movie but the ending was missing due to my cable/DVR turning off at that moment and then flipping back on as the credits were rolling. Next time it is on, I will record again.
