This Sunday night - it's the long-awaited return of "When Calls the Heart!" I know I've personally been looking forward to this all new season with great anticipation since last year. There is much to be revealed and questions to be answered, including: Who will Elizabeth choose, Nathan or Lucas? Will Bill join the Mounties, again? Will Rosemary and Lee adopt a child? Which couple will get married this season? What role will the new family, the Canfields, fulfill in town? Will Fiona find a new career path since being fired as telephone operator? Will Faith come home to stay in Hope Valley or will she return to the big city? What other major changes and possible new inventions are in store for Hope Valley - in the era around 1910? How will they draw on their faith in times of joy and uncertainty? We will have to watch and see!
See details on "When Calls the Heart" Season 8, Episode 1 below, plus all the info you need on the new movies premiering this weekend and more...

Based on the content in Hallmark Channel's Saturday night premiere, "Mix Up in the Mediterranean," I will not be promoting this movie. See details - here.
"When Hope Calls" is a wonderful series! I've seen every episode and I wholeheartedly recommend it for family viewing. Truly beautiful and heartwarming! What a great way to look forward to an all new season of "When Calls the Heart," by binge watching "When Hope Calls" all day Saturday, with guest stars- Kevin McGarry (Mountie Nathan Grant), Kavan Smith (Lee Coulter), and Pascale Hutton (Rosemary Coulter).
Speaking of "When Calls the Heart," I fully anticipate (although, I have not seen it) the new season to be family friendly and wholesome, based on past episodes and statements from the producers on this upcoming season. I hope your heart will lead you to Hope Valley Sunday nights!
Have a blessed weekend, everyone. Please stay safe and warm and be extra careful out there.
We are so crazy...that's what we talked about over breakfast! When Calls the Heart! We can't wait! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear your excitement, too! Enjoy the start of the new WCTH season - we'll be watching together!!! :)
DeleteHi Net ~ Has there been any word from Hallmark as to a Season Two of "When Hope Calls"? If there's been any announcement I've missed it. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for all you do for Hearties and Hallmark fans. Donna
ReplyDeleteDonna, No word, yet, on Season 2 of "When Hope Calls." I'm still hoping, but right now, we just don't know.
DeleteThere were rumors about filming last year, before the virus changed everything, and maybe those plans were diverted because of all of that.
I keep thinking - they built that entire set for "When Hope Calls," so hopefully, they would want to use it again for another season. There are surely many more stories to tell!
What Channel is When Hope Calls marathon is on for Saturday?
ReplyDeleteHey Chris, I mentioned it under the date above... the "When Hope Calls" marathon is on Hallmark Drama today. Hope you can watch! :)
DeleteLooking forward to WCTH.
ReplyDeletedenise
I can’t wait to watch Chronicle Mysteries: Helped to Death
DeleteHope you enjoyed it, Denise! I thought it was wonderful - loved seeing everyone again! :)
DeleteI look forward to this family friendly series almost as much as I do the Christmas season! I can't wait to see how faith plays into this season. Did anyone else notice from the ads that Lucas' beard is a bit fuller this season?
ReplyDeleteI DVR the series and keep it until the DVDs are released.
Namegirl, I feel exactly the same way about "When Calls the Heart" & Christmas movies - WCTH is a very close second! And I do the exact same thing as far as keeping it recorded until I get each episode on DVD!
DeleteI did notice Lucas' beard is fuller. I'm not overly fond of it, but whatever. I'm probably a bit biased since I'm Team Nathan!
Hope you enjoyed the new ep Sunday night - lots of drama to unfold this season!!! :)
I’m Team Nathan too
DeleteI’d like to see Nathan, Elizabeth, Allie, & Jack Jr., as family to honor Jack Thornton - a chance to build a dream house for Elizabeth & Jack Jr. If Elizabeth wouldn’t remain if Nathan & Allie could move in; Jack Sr.’s promises - probably someone help Nathan is Lee, Bill, & Joseph
Little Jack likes Nathan for his Mom; Elizabeth with Nathan's Niece; Allie
Jack Jr. wants Allie to hold him & even Nathan
I like to Jack Jr. eats ice cream cone π¦ with his Mom; Elizabeth, Nathan, & Allie - he puts his ice cream cone on Nathan’s nose when they’re all laughing out loud so, Nathan grabs Jack Jr. to hold him as long as they walk together
At our house we’ve literally been counting down the days until WCTH returned! It’s been a longer wait than past seasons since we didn’t have the new Christmas movie. It’s hard to believe it’s tonight! I can’t wait to return to Hope Valley. Thank you Net for spreading the word. It’s nice to know we can always count on you for godly principles. Anna
ReplyDeleteAnna, It's the same way at our house! Hope you enjoyed the first episode of WCTH. My family and I absolutely loved it - its one hour that always goes by so fast. Can't wait for next week! :)
DeleteSure hope they bring When Hope Calls back
ReplyDeleteMe too! I love When Hope Calls! I know there are still so many stories to tell with Lillian and Grace. There was even a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of season 1, when there was mysterious news delivered about Grace's past to Chuck's mother. Hope one day we'll get to see their stories continue! :)
DeleteI’d like to see Grace, Lillian, & constable Gabriel visit Hope Valley
DeleteHey y'all, I have a question about WCTH. I bought the dvd's for the first several seasons but have yet to watch them. I was going to start tonight but I'm not sure which dvd to start with, so I'll just watch a Jane Austen dvd tonight and wait for some advice on WCTH. I purchased the "WCTH Complete Season 1", 10 Dvd Collectors Edition. It appears that dvd's 1-7 each have a single episode (I think?) and dvd's 8-10 each have multiple episodes "as seen on the Hallmark Channel" (which I think are just the same episodes that are shown on dvd's 1-7? -- I'm confused since it seems a bit repetitive and unnecessary??). Anyway, I'm assuming if I pop in dvd #1 which is titled "Lost and Found" I'll get the first episode. My main question is that dvd #7 is titled "Pilot Movie" so.... should I start with dvd #7 or #1????? Help!!
ReplyDelete~~Jane
Jane, That does sound quite confusing how they listed the various episodes. I'll do my best to help you out.
DeleteThe "When Calls the Heart" pilot movie stars Poppy Drayton as Elizabeth Thatcher. Basically, the actors in the pilot movie are not the same ones in the regular series at all, only Lori Loughlin makes a quick appearance at the very end.
The first TV season of "When Calls the Heart" had 12 episodes, beginning with "Lost and Found" - see complete list *here*!
Hope this information is helpful to you... Happy watching!
Thank you, Net. I think I'll skip the pilot movie and start with the first episode in the series.
Delete~~Jane
I read the new President or whatever she is at Hallmark was happy and proud of Mix Up at Mediterranean cause it was Hallmarks first movie where someone gay was a main character. I hope she is proud she lost many viewers and probably may more still. I recorded Chronicle Mysteries and cant wait for Mystery 101 and Aurora, and I love when HMM has the Postables movies or shows on, but other than that I don't watch much. I did watch Irresistible BB Farm last week and Good Morning Christmas, but been watching a lot of Love it or List It on HGTV. And Spring Baking Championship is back on tonight on Food Network.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think they care about the ratings. Seriously, I don't. Otherwise, there would be SSD on the air by now.
DeleteMisty
Wouldn't you love to know just what's really happening behind the scenes at Hallmark?
DeleteThey can't surely be happy that Mix Up In The Mediterranean is the first movie on the main channel this year to fall below 2m mviewers.
Sabrina, I read that, too. It saddened me, but I wasn't surprised. Did you also see the article about the layoffs at Hallmark? Employees who have been with the network for over 20 years were let go. Isn't that sad? My heart breaks for them - losing their job. It seems Hallmark must be moving the network more and more in this new direction. If that's the case, than ratings are surely going to drop even further.
DeleteAnonymous...
DeleteThank you for sharing that news on the ratings. If more and more people wouldn't watch these particular movies, then maybe they would see viewers don't want this content.
I saw the ratings for Mix Up and it was bad, one of the lowest in a while. Now I am sure people will have an excuse for it, the weather, etc. I have seen all kinds of excuses before, funny how when a movie does bad there are so many excuses like people don't have cable anymore, etc. the Hallmark ratings have been steady recently so this is a definite drop.
DeleteI cant wait to see the ratings for WCTH, I bet they were still high as the show is very loved.
I wonder what they got for the reason for losing their job? were they too conservative? did they believe in family values? or was it cause people aren't buying cards? they are always claiming to be the best of the quarter and the best on Saturday night, (not including sports, news, weather, people with 4 or more in the household with 2 of them being over 50 or what other stat they add in). I can only wonder if some got laid off cause they don't look like the new hallmark.
Hey Net, just wondering what site you read that article on? Thanks!
DeleteI read it at several places, one was Yahoo Entertainment News -
Deletehttps://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/hallmark-channel-parent-crown-media-173117318.html
Sabrina, Excellent points, as always! I think you nailed it, with these people not fitting their new look. I can't help from wondering what's down the road. At some point we may not recognize the old Hallmark we loved, at all, which is quite sad. I pray that doesn't happen...
DeleteAfter reading that article about Hallmark Net , I too believe they want employees who accept the new movement. When they said there would be new hires, I think we have the answer. I am praying UP does not join in this. Can't help but wonder how this will affect some of the actors on Hallmark.
DeleteThank you for the link, Net.
DeleteHey Net!
DeleteWould you be able to tell me where you find the ratings for the Hallmark movies?I'd love to see them but can't seem to find them. Thanks!
To see ratings - I typically use Wikipedia:
Deletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Hallmark_Channel_Original_Movies
I like the way it is listed there by year.
Anyone else here use another source???
I am loving UP TV more and more. Watched "The Dating List" and "Change Of Heart" this weekend and loved them both. Also enjoyed "The Right Girl". "Sincerely, Yours Truly" on the 14th was a good movie. These older movies are so much better than the newer ones. Any time I see Larry Levinson mentioned on a movie, I know it will be good. Loved "The Dating List" so much I have already watched it twice.
ReplyDeletekitkat, I agree! UPtv has some really cute movies on their channel - I'm halfway through "Love is a Piece of Cake" and it is adorable, so far! That little girl in it is so precious and the romance is very sweet.
DeleteI also like the other ones you mentioned. Haven't watched "The Dating List," yet, but happy to hear how much you enjoyed it. (posted your review - *here*!) I thought the trailer looked really cute.
I'm am glad UP TV has another option to watch, but I wish it was on a Saturday. I am glad it comes on earlier than Hallmark movies do.
DeleteI don't recall Change of Heart, but I watched The Dating List.
Misty
The Dating List was pretty good. I thought it could have been better if we got to see the second romance more and I didn't care about the female boss finding love, because of that. The lead actress was very spunky and very pretty. I thought the guy friend/writer was cuter than the lead actor. I thought it was pretty funny, but I thought the part how they met and the copies were over the top. When it came to the 'reveal', I thought how he acted was horrible! That was such a huge turn off for me. However, I am going to watch it again, because I had so many distractions and overall it was a very cute movie! Family friendly as well.
DeleteMisty
Hey Misty, If Saturday is better for you, UPtv plays the premieres from the week before on Saturday nights at 7pm.
DeleteDoes that work?
By the way, Change of Heart is very sweet. I just caught a replay of it, too, recently. If you'd like info on it - see here:

Hope you can catch it sometime! :)
Thanks for the update. I will keep that in mind.
