INTERVIEW

ACTRESS

ERIN CAHILL

--------------------

2019 Christmas On The Range

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Welcome Erin to ‘It’s a Wonderful Movie,’ where we chat about family-friendly movies and shows on TV!

Please share with us the storyline to your INSP film, Christmas on the Range!

Erin Cahill: Christmas on the Range was truly one of the best experiences of my career so far! From the moment I got the offer with this beautiful story, to meeting our incredible director, our absolutely fabulous cast, and then working with this magical crew. It was a dream every step of the way! I am so thrilled to be telling a story this beautiful and one set at Christmas time!

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Oh, it sounds wonderful! I can’t wait to see it! Plus, I’ve had the honor of interviewing your director, Gary Wheeler. It’s obvious he makes every one of his movies such a fun set.

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: In Christmas on the Range you play a rancher’s daughter, and in the recent Hallmark Channel movie, Love, Fall and Order, you portrayed a farmer’s daughter. Do you consider yourself to be more country or city?

Erin Cahill: Oh my goodness, I absolutely love that question! Truthfully, I consider myself to be both! I grew up in the woods in Virginia, but then we went to New York all the time, so I will claim being city and country as the mood suits because I truly was raised in both and truly feel comfortable in both! Although I do have to say that lately, I cannot get enough of nature and the trees. So filming Christmas on the Range in the mountains of Georgia was perfection!

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Awe… it sounds breathtaking! I know just what you mean about your love of nature. Being a farmer’s daughter, myself, the setting of this movie out in the country - certainly draws me in.

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: On an average day, do you prefer a T-shirt/Sweater, Jeans, and boots or a dress and heels?

Erin Cahill: I would say that I am much more a jeans and boots kind of gal! I am currently doing this interview in overalls and a T-shirt! :-)

Erin Cahill and Nicholas Gonzalez - 2019 Christmas On The Range

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Did you ride a horse much in Christmas on the Range? If so, had you ever ridden before?

Erin Cahill: Yes, in Christmas on the Range my character rode horses the entire movie. It was a dream come true as I have ridden off and on my entire adult life and have always wanted to ride a horse on camera! The entire time we were filming I kept saying that I wanted to do this as a series! DREAM. COME. TRUE!! I’m so thankful!!!

Erin Cahill - 2019 Christmas On The Range

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: The setting for Christmas on the Range looks beautiful. Where was this movie filmed?

Erin Cahill: This movie was filmed in the mountains of Georgia right near the border of North Carolina. To say it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been or filmed would be an understatement! I want to go back there as often as I can!

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: In addition to Christmas on the Range coming out on DVD and streaming this Christmas, you also have a Lifetime Christmas movie, Random Acts of Christmas, premiering this Holiday season. Have you ever experienced a random act of kindness in your own life?

Erin Cahill: Oh my goodness… I feel like I get to experience little random acts of kindness often! I always think it is our angels winking at us, and I thank them out loud every time! Doing this movie certainly inspired me to surprise people this Christmas season with little gifts and treats! It really inspired me to make a difference and spread love and joy!

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Awe... I love that, Erin… what happiness and fulfillment it brings to our own lives to give to others!

Erin Cahill and Nicholas Gonzalez - 2019 Christmas On The Range

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: You certainly have incredible leading men in your movies! In Christmas on the Range you starred alongside Nicholas Gonzalez (The Good Doctor), and in Love, Fall and Order there was Trevor Donovan (Nostalgic Christmas) and in the Lifetime Christmas movie, Random Acts of Christmas, you’re teamed up with Kevin McGarry (When Calls the Heart, Heartland). What was it like playing opposite of each of these actors?

Erin Cahill: I have to say, this year was beyond incredible with the leading men I got to work with! They are fabulous actors both on and off camera and are now my dear friends. Looking back on this year, I am pinching myself!

Lindsay Wagner and A Martinez - 2019 Christmas On The Range

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Also, what was it like working with your co-stars A Martinez and Lindsay Wagner (who are legends in the acting world), in Christmas on the Range?

Erin Cahill: You said it exactly correctly… They are absolute LEGENDS! I soaked in every second I got with them. Watching them work was like a master acting class. Talking to them was such a gift, both personally and professionally! I love and admire these wonderful people. Did I mention how absolutely grateful I am this year?! :))

Erin Cahill - 2019 Christmas On The Range

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Since you are starring in a Christmas movie, what are some of your own personal all-time favorite Christmas movies?

Erin Cahill: Oh my goodness, Christmas is not only one of my favorite times of year, but it is one of my favorite feelings! That feeling of love and family and connectedness and joy… It is my absolute favorite thing! I love the classics like White Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street. I also love A Christmas Story and have to watch it every year with my family because it is our tradition! My husband and I love the movie Love Actually at Christmas time and the movie The Holiday! We end up watching all of those movies every year!

2019 Christmas On The Range

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: What does it mean to you, personally, to create movies… that families can sit down and gather with one another - to watch together? What do you hope viewers will take away from watching Christmas on the Range?

Erin Cahill: Being able to do these Christmas movies is such a gift. It is truly incredible to do something that the entire family can watch together and where I know people will be moved and inspired. Christmas on the Range is one of my favorite projects for that reason. It has light and fun moments, but it is a story about the depths of humanity and forgiveness and love. I hope that people take away from this beautiful film how important we all are to each other and how forgiveness and love are imperative, not only at Christmas time, but at all times. This movie is a piece of my heart and I hope it touches the hearts of everyone who watches it!

    1. Hi Katy Lynn! Hope I can help you here.

Are you referring to the ivory silk bow blouse? I'm not sure exactly which designer Erin Cahill is wearing, but I found three options that are similar...

Amazon - LilySilk Bow-tie Neck Silk Blouse

      Ann Taylor Bow Neck Blouse

Bloomingdales Theory Silk Tie Neck Top

    1. Hello Misty! Glad you enjoyed my interview with Erin! Isn't she so sweet? Unfortunately, "Christmas on the Range" won't be airing on INSP this year, but thankfully they've released it on streaming and DVD soon! Hope you can see it through one of those sources.

    1. Not this year, but besides "Christmas on the Range," you can also see her on Lifetime in her new movie, "Random Acts of Christmas," with Kevin McGarry!

  6. The liberal scolds are coming for the Hallmark Channel and Lifetime Channel, too. During the holiday season, the channels run Christmas-themed movies around the clock. It’s a nice diversion from the craziness in everyday life, so naturally, it must be destroyed

    1. Thank you so much for sharing. When it comes to entertainment and movies, especially Christmas movies, I think most families want a simple program without controversy that any age can watch. I know that's what my family enjoys.

For us, as Christians, Christmas is a Holy Celebration of the birth of Jesus. It's a sacred time of year for us and if a program does not meet that standard, then we will be sure to turn the channel and not watch.
