Me, too! Looks interesting!!! :)
DeleteAdvance and Retreat sounds interesting
ReplyDeletePlease let us know how you liked it! (Don't have PixL station, yet... Come on, DirecTV!)
DeleteI'll be watching hinges when they put it up on YouTube
DeleteI really am enjoying The Mistletoe Promise, but as I feared they've cut out the sad but necessary back stories of both Elise and Nick. It still a good movie, but could've been great if they told the whole story. May have been too much for Hallmark
ReplyDeleteI've never read the book, but I have read his other books and could see what you mean.

I reallly wanted to ilke this one, but could not warm up to the lead actress. I felt no chemistry between her and Luke MacFarlane, who I love especially in last year's Christmas Land. Just my humble opinion :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Barbara. I felt the acting was sub-par (very stiff) and the editing in the film was poorly done.
DeleteI loved reading Mistletoe Promise...great and unique book! I also feared the movie wouldn't have Elise and Nick's backstory that got them to present day. But that being said, the Hallmark movie version was great and the leads were perfect for the roles (love Jaime King!). Even with a modified storyline, it was good and easy to watch. I hope to see Jaime King in more Hallmark movies. I also recommend reading the Mistletoe Promise book to anyone who has watched the movie but hasn't read the book :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed Mistletoe Promise, but loved Love Always, Santa! It was so funny and I also liked that it was filmed in MN. during winter and had that atmosphere of it actually being the Christmas holiday.

Loved Married by Christmas! Finally a Christmas movie with a hard working career woman who wasn't told she works too much or she's too brittle and needs to find a man.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed "Mistletoe Promise" quite a bit -- though it had a different tone and vibe to it than a lot of Hallmark movies do (especially the ones on the main channel). It felt a bit more mature, and not really whimsical or lighthearted in general.
ReplyDeleteI thought the acting, direction and writing were pretty good. Lochlyn Munro was great as the buffoon-ish ex-husband with the girlfriend on the snowmobile. And I loved the overzealous, annoyingly enthusiastic carolers at the mall!
I was enjoying Married by Christmas up to a certain point, then turned it off. Not family friendly.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good movie for the older members of the family to watch together like the teens and adults. It was nice to have a movie where the adults acted like adults in 2016. People drink especially at holiday functions.
