  1. I'm confused. I saw that on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is the channel that this will be shown, but the web site for Hallmark Channel has them under their schedule? Net, could you clear that up? Thanks!

    1. I sure can! Great question, Misty! According to the schedules, it looks like the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie 'A Heavenly Christmas' will actually premiere on both Hallmark channels at the same time - the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!!!

In fact, the HMM premiere movies typically air at 9pm eastern standard time, but they will be adjusting their movie showings that day so it will also start at 8pm (est)!

It looks like this will be a BIG premiere!!!

My guess is that "A Heavenly Christmas" is eventually going to move from the main Hallmark Channel to the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel and stay there permanently (where a lot of the other "angel" movies can be found!). I don't know whether it's going to make the move to HMM this season or next year, but I think that's what's happening at some point.

It should also be noted that Candace Cameron Bure's movie, Journey Back to Christmas," is airing on the main Hallmark Channel and then (apparently) moving over to HMM. At one point I was told that Candace's movie was supposedly scheduled to air on the main Hallmark Channel just one time, when it premieres, but that the subsequent showtimes were going to be on HMM. I don't know if that's changed or if it was a scheduling mistake, or if there will still be some additional showtimes on the main Hallmark Channel, but I suspect the plan is to move Candace's movie to HMM as well.

IF that happens and Candace's movie goes to HMM permanently, after premiering on the main Hallmark Channel, it wouldn't surprise me at all. I have thought all along that, from the standpoint of trying to get more people to sign up for/tune in to HMM, Hallmark would be wise to put more movies with their heavy hitters/most popular stars on HMM -- to lure people over there. (They did it with the Erin Krakow movie.) Candace already has a presence on HMM because of the Aurora Teagarden movies, so it makes sense that they would start to put more of her other movies there too.

It won't make sense to viewers who don't have HMM, of course, but I can understand the logic behind it from Hallmark's perspective.

Plus, seeing that Sling TV now has both Hallmark Channels and people can sign up for Sling at a much cheaper rate than they pay for cable or satellite, a lot more people can have access to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries today than there were one year ago.

    4. You're most welcome, Misty. I was unsure at first how that was going to work. Now, I wonder if they plan to continue this simulcast showing with future HHOF premieres. Guess we shall see in late January!

    5. I totally agree, Sherry! "A Heavenly Christmas" does seem like a better fit for HMM. It definitely has that drama feel that most Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movies have!

Also, I've been hearing lots of buzz about Sling TV... I'm so happy both Hallmark channels are becoming more & more available for more TV viewers!!!

  2. I thought that this was another poor entry in the Hallmark Hall of Fame series. It appears that to be a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie you just need bigger name stars like when Anne Heche was in the unwatchable One Christmas Eve a couple of years ago.

A Heavenly Christmas was very odd. The main character was told certain rules and one of the rules was that she couldn't form any attachments. But then she was told that she wasn't going to remember anything, nor were the people she connected with. So why would it matter? And the ending seemed incredibly rushed and thrown together. I don't need exacting logic and reason in a Hallmark movie but this was just sloppy writing from start to finish. Very disappointing as I was hoping for more.

    1. Well, we all like some and dislike others.

"A Heavenly Christmas" was, well... interesting, to say the least. I liked the actors, but not the overall story. I agree with your statement above. It also didn't make sense to me, for them not to remember anything... and the ending (I agree with you, again) did seem rushed.

You also mentioned "One Christmas Eve." I personally really like that Anne Heche Hallmark Hall of Fame movie. To me, it is such a refreshing fun HHOF movie, but it also has some heartwarming moments, as well.

As I said... we all like different things & movies!!!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!!!

    2. I have to agree with Anonymous. I normally really enjoy the movies with Angels and Heaven and redemption but this one had massive plot holes just too big to ignore. Not to mention that it plagiarized the entire plot from Hallmark's own "Christmas Magic" from 2011.

Being a huge Shirley MacLaine fan, I was really looking forward to seeing her in what seemed like a perfect role for her but she spent most of the movie just rolling her eyes and appearing disinterested in the whole process.

I hate sounding negative because I also look forward to Hallmark Hall of Fame movies but I didn't enjoy the last two Christmas offerings at all - "One Christmas Eve" and "Just in Time for Christmas" with William Shatner.

    3. I totally agree with you, Susan. SPOILER ALERT: At the start I thought, "This is just like Christmas Magic. I sure hope it doesn't turn out that she is in a coma, too." Well, lo and behold...! So disappointing, no originality at all!

    4. Christmas Magic was not a fresh, original plot when it premiered years ago either.

  3. Favorite scene with Eve - Giving her Colleague her blessing to make Partner and her Client.

Favorite scene with Max - Finally standing up to Lauren's grandparents by telling them that she's staying with him.

Favorite scene with Eve and Max together - Their first meeting.

  4. I really like "A Heavenly Christmas." I though the actors were chosen well and that they really became their characters. Kristin Davis and Eric McCormack had great chemistry...in fact, the best of the Hallmark movies I seen this year (granted that's only 10 out of 18 with both stations). I felt that their love story was believable yet somewhat magical.
Not to spoil the ending, but I do wish the two characters remembered what happened. I choose to believe it's like "Just Like Heaven," in that when the two touch the memories of what was will come rushing back. :) But even if they never do remember, both Eve and Max have a sense of deja vu and a hazy remembrance of long lost memories that I believe their souls remember and recognize each other, which is a concept that I actually really love (souls recognizing each other)!
The ending was very touching. When Max's sister "gazes" upon her family and you can see the joy she feels at seeing all of them together and happy stirred something in me; it was so touching that it brought tears to my eyes.
Well done Hallmark Hall of Fame! And as always, we all like and dislike, but for me, this one was a winner! Thanks! :)

  5. This movie is not up to the Hallmark Hall of fame standards a bold. They used to have very good actors on like Glen Close. This is more like their corny Christmas movies.
