Happy Weekend, Christmas Movie Friends!✨π
It's almost time to start thawing out our turkeys for Thanksgiving! (But who would ever serve a frozen turkey to their family, right? Ha-ha! Do you know that movie reference? I'm referring to a scene from the fan-favorite Christmas classic, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, which, by the way, happens to be airing this Sunday, November 23rd, at 10am/9c. You may know Uncle Ralph, Shiny Shoes, and the impossible to find Rocket Wheel by heart, but it's one of those *rare these days* movies you can honestly watch over and again!)
As for the NEW Christmas movie premieres, I'll give you a taste of what's airing on TV this weekend...

On Saturday, Great American Family debuts "Christmas on Every Page," a sweet story about a struggling bookstore and a Christmas mural.
The Hallmark Channel premieres "Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story," where two families bond over football, and there's a mystery from the past.
On UPtv, "A Royal Christmas Hope" follows a prince seeking a break from royal duties.
On Sunday, Great American Family premieres "Christmas North of Nashville," a story about a woman who returns home and discovers her family’s Christmas carnival is in trouble.
Hallmark wraps up the weekend with "Melt My Heart This Christmas," centered around a passionate glassblower whose art brings warmth and possibly love to the season!
See more details on premiere times for the Christmas movies below, plus "Mistle Murders" ends Season 2...

"O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms."

Great lineup this weekend. Hard to believe it’s the last before the holidays take off.
ReplyDeleteI knew the quote from The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Net! That neighbor is so nasty, but I still love the movie.
I’m going to watch Christmas North of Nashville, and I’ll try not to think of them on Crossroad Springs as brother & sister. Christie
Don’t know if it’s me getting a lot older, but this years movies have been “kinda blah”. Won’t have a problem with DVD storage. Have really enjoyed A Christmas Prayer, Merry Christmas Ted Cooper and A Newport Christmas. The others have been ok, but not really keepers. Hope remainder ones are good. On a side note, is getting a Christmas Movie about your team becoming a curse? Chiefs and Bills are not fairing well this year. As usual, just my thoughts.
DeleteJoCo, It's not just you. I've been hearing others say the same thing, and I've also been thinking the same thing about the majority of movies being “kinda blah”.
DeleteHopefully, there will be many more great premieres to come. In my opinion, A Christmas Prayer, Christmas in Midnight Clear, and Timeless Tidings of Joy were all excellent on GAF! :)
JoCo, I feel the same way. So far, A Christmas Prayer and Merry Christmas Ted Cooper are the only ones that I definitely see myself watching again. (I would have added A Newport Christmas and Timeless Tidings of Joy if it weren't for the time traveling, but there were too many holes for me, especially in TT of J.) Hopefully more good ones are on the way!)
DeleteI’m really curious to see how Mistletoe Murders will end. I wonder if there are plans for a third season.
ReplyDeletegreat lineup!
ReplyDeleteThe fans are raving about Christmas Prayer
ReplyDelete“…captures and embodies the true meaning of Christmas…
“I absolutely LOVED this movie!!! It’s our new Christmas movie.”
“Great movie! A beautiful reminder of the power of prayer.”
“This movie the BEST Christmas movie you’ve ever made! So sweet with plenty faith and love!”
“This might us a breath of fresh air! A must-see Christmas movie!!!”

Net, so glad you quoted from "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year"! It is still, after all these years, among my top 3 all-time favorite Hallmark movies! So many great quotes from that movie!
ReplyDeleteAnd...congratulations on hitting 40 millions clicks! Wow, it doesn't seem like it was that long ago when you hit 30 million! (Wasn't it, like, just a couple of years ago??!) It shows how you are able to draw (and keep) so many to your site with your kindness, your warmth, your humor, and of course your faith! We know it's a lot of work, but we are all so grateful for you! Thank you, my dear friend!!
Mark, Oh my goodness! You caught it again! I hadn't taken notice. Wow, I'm beyond grateful for everyone who visits and shares here. You ALL are The Best!!!
DeleteI apologize for being a bit behind this weekend. I've been extra busy preparing for family coming in this week for Thanksgiving. Just a lot of preparation and work to do around the house and with food, etc...
And regardless of the It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year neighbor, I started thawing out my bird today. Yes, it is/was frozen!!! LOL!!!
Thank you, Mark, for your kind words! Happy Thanksgiving to you, my friend! So thankful for you, as well! :)
Oh Net! I knew that quote immediately! One of my all time favorite movies! Never get tired of watching that one over and over!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, Yay, I'm so glad you knew it, too! I was kinda afraid someone might think I was serious and think I was a snob or something for talking about frozen turkeys that way... that's why I decided to go ahead and reveal it.
DeleteI recorded and watched "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" for the 100th time or more last night as I was in the kitchen. Glad you love watching it over and over, too!!! :)
I watched the last two episodes of Mistletoe Murders. I thought it was good, but thought there could have been more info into Emily’s past. But I still enjoyed it. Sad it’s over. This season went fast and was shorter. Too bad.
ReplyDeleteAbigail, I just have one episode to go for this 2nd season of Mistletoe Murders, and I've really been enjoying this season, too! Wasn't the dance so cute and unexpected? I couldn't help from laughing out loud!!! :)
DeleteNet are you talking about the free style dance she did when her present broke? I was laughing out loud too! π
Delete~Paula
Paula, Yes, sorry, I should have said Violet's dance. She was so cute! Glad it made you laugh, too! :)
DeleteChristmas on Every Page is quite charming. -Maria
ReplyDeleteSaving the Christmas Ranch is good. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, So appreciate both of your reviews!! Thank you x 2!! :)
DeleteThis weekend was a busy one for us so I have only been able to watch “A Bluegrass Christmas” and I really enjoyed it! The scenery was beautiful and I thought Katie and Grant had great chemistry. I don’t know if that was really her voice but her singing was very nice. And the scene with them signing Go Tell It On The Mountain, and the grandpa crying was so touching! I could just feel his longing for his wife, made me tear up. UpTV doesn’t have a lot of Christmas movies that keep me interested, Christmas on Holly Lane with Sarah Lancaster is the only one I can think of that I try to catch every Christmas on this channel. But Bluegrass was a sweet movie that I would watch again if I saw it playing.
ReplyDelete~Paula
Paula, I agree! That is such a sweet movie! And yes, that is Amanda Jordan singing! She has such a lovely voice.
DeleteReview: Melt My Heart This Christmas -
ReplyDeleteFamily-friendly? Yes -
Recommend? Only to see a different Laura -
I really enjoyed Laura Vandervoort and the character she played in Miracle in Bethlehem, PA, my favorite Christmas movie from 2023. In this one she plays a totally different kind of character, but equally as well. In the Miracle movie she was quiet and serious, and in this one she is bubbly and outgoing (almost annoyingly at first). But this movie I couldn't get into. The plot was rather boring. And while the two leads were good, I didn't sense any real chemistry between them. So if you want to see Laura play a totally different kind of character from the Miracle movie, it may be worth a watch. Otherwise, I'd skip it.
Christmas North of Nashville was the worst movie I have seen on GAF. Jules was not a likeable main character. She was cold to her parents in the beginning of the movie. There was no love story between her and her co star but at the end they kiss. Also her mother had an accident but it was never mentioned what happened to her. You just see her in the hospital not awake most of the movie. At the end she wakes up and the next day she is at the carnival. The movie had very little to do with Christmas. I have enjoyed all the other movies so far on GAF this year.
ReplyDeleteKen, I am on the same page with you! It was painful to watch.
Deletekitkat
Ken, I have to say... I felt very much the same about "Christmas North of Nashville," and I really appreciate you sharing such an honest review with us.
DeleteLike you, I’ve enjoyed most of the other GAF movies, but this one was a tough watch for me, too. I almost turned it off halfway through, but I was hoping it might pick up, so I stayed with it. Unfortunately, as we both know, it just didn’t.
Hope you've enjoyed other Christmas movies lately! :)
Oh, I'm glad it wasn't just me! I want to support GAF and kept trying with this movie but have not been able to make it past half-way! ~LR
DeleteGood morning Net
ReplyDeleteWhen dvd’s come out and they have same sex couples in the movies do you buy the dvd’s anyway to get the movies you do want?
It is so frustrating when Hallmark does that does that with their movie compilations.
Just wanted to get your opinion and anybody else’s opinion on this blog about this issue.
Great question!
DeleteWell... for me, I personally don't buy any of the DVD collections that have content I don't agree with. I know it's hard when there are other movies I want in them.
Anyway, that's just my choice. Others may choose differently.
I agree with Net on this. I tend to have a heavy conscious and it would be hard for me to show any monetary support for movies with themes that go against my faith. ~LR
DeleteChristmas on Every Page was sweet! I hope we see more of Rose & Jake on GAF. Christie
ReplyDeleteHi Net and my friends here on this site!!
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving surrounded by family and friends and yummy food. :-) May your day be filled with love, laughter and may your belly be full at the end of the day. :-)
Now, onto my movie reviews. I am sad to say my husband and I only enjoyed three holiday films this past weekend. I also added an additional review of Mistletoe Murders (Season 2) for good measure, since we finished the season.
"Three Wisest Men"
My husband and I thought this movie was just as good or even better than the 1st movie in the series. After what we felt was a disastrous 2nd movie, we weren't sure how the final movie would be and we have to say it was fantastic! It was funny, heartfelt, nostalgic, realistic and all around joy to revel in. We will definitely watch this gem again next Christmas. :-) Joan
"A Royal Christmas Hope"
Oh my gosh! This sweet movie was such a pleasant surprise! :-) My husband and I were hesitant to watch yet another recycled plot line where a royal decides to come to the US, at Christmas, and keep their true identity a secret. However, we decided to give it a chance and we were immediately drawn in because we both looked at each other, when one of the first location shots, came into view. We both said "That's downtown Louisville!". This lovely movie was filmed on location in my hometown as well as a B & B in a surrounding county. It is always fun watching movies that are set and filmed in my hometown. So, bonus points for that surprise! Oh, and the lead actress and lead actor's 'meet cute' was absolutely adorable. Every single actor/actress brought their 'A game' to their individual roles. All of the relationships were believable and the lead had seriously great chemistry. Also, the quality of the production was miles above what we normally see. We enjoyed this movie so much! We felt it was the best UPtv Christmas movie so far this season and one of the best holiday movies that have aired on UPtv over the last several years. It was as good as "A Soldier for Christmas". We will definitely watch it again! :-) Joan
"Timeless Tidings of Joy"
Oh my gosh this movie was a blessing! It was pure grace and light and we absolutely loved it! Any movie that includes anything related to the 1940's or the military, always touches my soul in the best way. I know I would be really old now, but I always felt like I was born in the wrong time period. I think it would have been so cool to grow up in the 1940's. The clothes, beliefs, camaraderie, cars, and life in general was so special. I know there were some dark times but we were united as a nation and sadly today we are not. :-( Anyway, Paul and Candace and Natasha were spectacular in their roles. We enjoyed the surprises and the growth of Candace's character and how her appreciation for her grandmother grew when she spent time with her in the past. It was so lovely to see. It was a beautiful movie and my favorite Candace film in recent years. Joan
“Mistletoe Murders (Season 2)"
First off, let me just say there better be a Season 3 of this mystery series with that cliffhanger! There is so much story left to tell. My only complaint, with this series, is the seasons are not long enough. Like Abigail, I wanted to see more of Emily's/Grace's backstory. But, that quibble aside along with the season being too short, we LOVE this mystery series. It is seriously good. And, the stories are entertaining and the acting is fantastic. Joan
Hi, Joan! We're on the same page concerning the movie "A Royal Christmas Hope". It really was such a great movie. I was also expecting the same royal movie as the old ones, but this one really stands out. And I totally agree with your statement about a great chemistry between the leads. The other thing that touched my heart was the topic of helping families in need, they showed it with such a heart.
Delete*Oksanka*
Hi Oksanka! I was so happy to hear you loved this sweet movie as much as I did! And, I agree with you about the topic of helping families in need. I meant to mention that. That was such an integral part of the story and made the movie even more special. Helping people in need is very important and such an important topic to emphasize in a movie.
DeleteJoan, Thank you so much for all of these wonderful reviews!
DeleteI felt the same about "Three Wisest Men" - this one is definitely more in line with the first movie of the series. So much better than #2. I'm glad it brought you joy!
And I so agree, "Timeless Tidings of Joy" is such a beautiful movie in every way! So good to hear how much you enjoyed it, too.
I haven't seen "A Royal Christmas Hope," yet, but I have it recorded and will definitely add it to my watch list! :)
'A Royal Christmas Hope' is such a great, heartwarming movie. Despite the fact that it is royal movie - we've really watched a lot of them for the past years and you don't expect anything extraordinary - this one was really great. Yeah, the plot is quite similar to the other royal movies, but I liked that it was not only about a prince, his family, etc. It was also about helping families in need and it really touched my heart. I also really liked Jenna Michno and Robert Adamson, they were so great.
ReplyDelete*Oksanka*
Oksanka, thank you for sharing this lovely review! I love hearing that this movie focuses on helping others. That is beautiful.
DeleteHi Net, I think I accidentally deleted my post so hopefully this isn’t a duplicate. I was finally able to watch A Royal Christmas Hope and I really enjoyed it! Yes it’s been done before and normally I’m not too excited about the royal ones but this one I enjoyed. I really liked the idea of her organization and I thought the chemistry between the leads was sweet and believable. It was funny how she thought he was homeless/in need when she first met him. Family friendly from what I remember as well.
ReplyDeleteI also watched Melt my Heart this Christmas. Okay I agree with Mark, I really enjoyed Laura and seeing her play a different role, but that’s about it. The storyline was Lin of hard to believe- like Bianca was such a huge artist and wanted her new collection to be private and it “wasn’t fully ready” yet it was on display in this huge area with glass windows. And she kept hiding from the reporter guy and didn’t want him judging her work yet it was on full display…? And poor Stephen I don’t think that guy has chemistry with anyone, lol not one single actress Iv seen him work with. Him and Laura just seemed like good friends. Maybe the lighthouse Christmas movie from a year or two ago…. I guess I would recommend for a one time watch.
~Paula
