Happy Christmas in July Weekend, Movie Friends!πππ
It's the last weekend for holiday movies on Great American Family and the Hallmark Channel! I don’t know about you, but I’m really going to miss the festive joy they’ve brought to these warm summer days.
Although I have good news... Christmas movies will continue to air on Friday nights, and GAF's Christmas movies are still featured in their schedule 24/7 on Friday, August 1st. So, maybe, they are simply finishing out the week??? Stay tuned!ππ¬
Friday, July 25th, marks around THREE months 'til the Christmas movie season begins (near the end of October) and just FIVE months exactly 'til December 25th - Christmas Day! Do you plan to watch any special Christmas movie on Friday or over the weekend in honor of our countdown? If so, I’d love to hear your picks! Please share in the comments below! (You’ll find the weekend Christmas schedule further down.)
As for me, I’m hoping to catch some of these beloved classics airing over the weekend: Snow Bride, Christmas Next Door, Santa Tell Me, A Christmas Blessing, A Cinderella Christmas Ball, Following Yonder Star, A Christmas Detour, and more! There are so many good movies airing - it was hard to choose just one!
Since this is the last final weekend hurrah for Christmas in July, I want to try to soak up as many festive movies as I possibly can, even if I know it's not realistically possible to squeeze them all in! A girl can dream! ✨
Plus, I'm trying to leave some time around my weekend plans to catch the exciting new premieres: Unwrapping Christmas: Olivia’s Reunion and Before Your Father Finds Us. (How will I ever fit it all in? Let’s just say... my DVR is already set! π)
Are you ready to unwrap this weekend's new Christmas movie and holiday classics, along with a new suspenseful premiere?
Let’s make it a merry send-off! See details below...
Saturday, July 26, 2025:

Storyline: Olivia finds herself trapped in a cabin with her ex-boyfriend Ben. The time together allows them to explore the idea of a second chance at romance.
Movie Reviews:
π Unwrapping Christmas: Olivia's Reunion is clean. All in all, a cute ensamble series on Hallmark +. -Maria
π Unwrapping Christmas: Olivia’s Reunion - Watching this movie was such a delight! This final film in the series does a wonderful job of bringing the journeys of Olivia and her three best friends full circle. Cindy Busby portrays the expressive and vibrant Olivia and truly shines in this role.
And then there’s Jake Epstein, who plays the perfect counter to Cindy’s character. He always brings such a fun and engaging energy to his roles, making every scene enjoyable to watch. Their chemistry together is fantastic; it was such a joy to see these two exes stuck together during a snowstorm.
Overall, this movie is lighthearted and family-friendly, making it an excellent pick for viewing any time of the year. Olivia's Christmas love story wraps up the entire series perfectly! ~Net
Saturday, July 26, 2025:

Storyline: Sophia (Alexa PenaVega) and baby daughter, Emily, are forced to go into witness protection after she has to testify against her ex-husband Mason (Tahmoh Penikett) for his crimes. After years of living a seemingly normal life with new friends and relationships, Sophia learns that Mason has escaped from his maximum security prison. Knowing his strength and connections, Sophia is forced to reveal the truth to her now teenage daughter (Jaeda Lily Miller) about who her father really is – and having to leave everything behind. Escaping to an old remote cabin in the woods together, Sophia and Emily must do everything it takes to survive Mason and his ruthless intent to make the family whole again.

Wishing you all a joyful and cozy weekend ahead!✨
I'd love to hear what Christmas movies you're planning to watch- so be sure to drop your picks in the comments below. Are you revisiting a beloved classic, or tuning in for one of this weekend’s exciting premieres? Please share with us!
Note: I haven't seen the Lifetime movie, Before Your Father Finds Us. Due to the suspenseful nature of the film, I expect the movie to have violence, adult dialogue, and content not suitable for young viewers. (I wanted to be sure to mention this since I know some young "When Calls the Heart" fans may want to watch, since Jaeda Lily Miller (Allie) is in this. Viewer discretion is advised.)
In case you missed it, you can see Maria's and my review for Unwrapping Christmas: Olivia's Reunion above.
Merry *Christmas in July* movie-watching!π

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
I didn’t care so much for the Unwrapped movies so far. But this is the only one I haven’t seen so I’ll watch it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely watching Alexa and Jaeda’s suspense movie. Hoping it’s not too dark.
I am definitely going to watch Alexa and Jaeda's movie even though I am not a huge fan of suspense movies. Abigail, I agree with you on the "Unwrapped movies". The only one I really enjoyed was Mia's story. But, I do like Cindy and Jake and both Net and Maria had positive reviews of the final movie in the series. :-)
ReplyDeleteJoan, we always like the same stuff!!!
DeleteI thought all for were too cheesy to watch again, but I did like the character(personally) of Mia so much and her clothing was so classically Christmasy! I loved it.
How was Alexa’s movie? I wasn’t able to find a video on YouTube yet. But I like to be on my guard when Lifetime is on.
I checked my Spectrum cable guide, and it shows GAF playing Christmas movies around the clock through Monday 8/4 at 6am.
ReplyDeleteJim, that is such great news! We can enjoy Christmas a little longer! Love that! :)
DeleteI can’t wait to see the last Unwrapping Christmas movie Saturday night. Cindy has been a favorite of mine for years!
ReplyDeleteAlso , love Alexa & Jaeda, so gonna watch that one too!
I voted in the IAWM awards. Looking forward to seeing all the winners.π
ReplyDeleteI don’t comment much, but I had to say I’ll be sad to see the Christmas movies end too. Your blog and banner have been so beautiful and cheerful during Christmas in July, Net. Thank you for all you do! Jessica
ReplyDeleteJessica, Thank you sooo much! Please feel free to comment anytime. So glad you enjoyed the banner and posts in July. Next to Christmas it's the best time of year!
DeleteI so appreciate your sweet, uplifting comment! :)
Have a wonderful 25th!
ReplyDeletedstoutholcomb, Hope you enjoyed lots of fun Christmas movies over the weekend!!! :)
DeleteI will be at the Christmas in a Small Town conference in Dahlonega, GA. I didn't sign up for any Hallmark actor photo ops since I have never been to one of these events before but looking forward to exploring! I have my dvr set though!
ReplyDeleteHope you had an amazing time at the *Christmas in a Small Town* event! I saw some pics on social media, and it looked fun! :)
DeleteI love your top image, Net, it’s so pretty and sparkly. I’m looking forward to both of the new movies, but of course they’re playing at the same time. I’m thinking of playing it safe and watching the Christmas one first and waiting to hear what you guys think of Alexa’s movie. Christie
ReplyDeleteChristie, Awww... Thank you! So glad you like my image... highlighting the weekend movies! It was a fun one to do. :)
DeleteI’ve been watching the Unwrapping Christmas Hallmark movies and honestly, they’re the perfect kind of holiday movie with just the right mix of cheesy and sweet. I’ve loved them all. I wish Hallmark would play all four of them in a row.
ReplyDeleteChristmas Movie Fanπ, Love that idea! Maybe they will air all of the Unwrapping Christmas movies in a marathon one day. That would be great! :)
DeleteI just watched the last Unwrapping Christmas: Olivia’s Reunion. It was still very cheesy. Too much to rewatch, but it was the best out of the four movies. I thought is was so sweet when Olivia overheard Ben defending her to his mother. It was family friendly, but had a scene that talks about fate and the Universe(Mother Nature kind of talk).
ReplyDeleteAbigail, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on "Unwrapping Christmas: Olivia’s Reunion." Yeah, I noticed the mention of the "universe," too... but then Olivia also spoke about miracles happening in her life and someone watching over her. So, hopefully, that "someone" was meant to be God.
DeleteI rewatched the movie yesterday and I had forgotten what Ben's father says near the end as they sit down for Christmas dinner... "What an adventure to get here today, huh? This is a Christmas we will not soon forget. But we are all together, we're warm, we're safe, we're well-fed."
And then he finishes his speech by saying, "You know, God works in mysterious ways, and I'd like to think, that the path that has led us all here today is for reasons that are bigger than we all know."
Unfortunately, there wasn't a prayer over the meal, but I was still surprised and glad to hear this acknowledgement of God guiding their paths all together.
By the way, Olivia's story is my favorite, as well. I loved the way they tied in their friendships in each story and how they were always there for one another, even if they were miles apart! :)
Before Your Father Finds Us (2025)
ReplyDeleteBrendon Zub as Steve Davis
Alexa PenaVega as Sophia Larson/Alexandra “Alex” Walker
Jaeda Lily Miller as Emily
Lochlyn Munro as FBI Agent Dean Farnworth
Tahmoh Penikett as Mason Walker
We picked the right movie for us. Had some friends over and watched the last Unwrapping Christmas movie together, which is a good choice for all ages. Not that the kids paid attention fully, but it felt safe with them in the room and all. Cindy Busby was great (as always). Perfect ending to all four movies. Christie
ReplyDeleteChristie, So glad you all enjoyed the end of the Unwrapping Christmas movies. Sounds like you had a wonderful evening! :)
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI tried to watch "Before Your Father Finds Us" but I could not get in to you. I really don't enjoy suspenseful movies. Anyway, we did watch the final "Unwrapped for Christmas" movie. I do agree with Abigail. It was so cheesy! And, I did not like the silliness of the scenes where to dog was acting up. But, I also agree with Abigail that it was the best of the four movies. I thought Cindy and Jake were very good. There was a serenity about them that just worked. They were believable as a couple.
Joan, I totally get it... suspense isn't for everyone, and "Before Your Father Finds Us" has plenty of it.
DeleteGlad to hear you enjoyed the last "Unwrapping Christmas" movie. It was my favorite of the bunch, too, and so good to see all four ladies happy at the end. I also thought Cindy and Jake were such a good match, a joy to watch! :)
Hey Net, it is time to change your heading...you are now over 35 million clicks!! Wow, it doesn't seem that long ago that you passed the 30 million mark! Anyway, well done and congratulations, my friend! It shows what a warm and welcoming site this is (as does the person that runs it)! It really does feel like we are one big family!
ReplyDeleteI've probably clicked on this site over a million times myself lol. I check this site multiple times a day pretty much EVERY day for years now.
DeleteMark & Jim… you guys are seriously the BEST!! ππ
DeleteI just can’t say enough how much you both mean to me... you’re such wonderful friends and such a special part of our It’s a Wonderful Movie family!
Mark, you totally get bonus points for catching the number change- love that you noticed!
And Jim… I think you definitely win the prize for most clicks!
Thanks so much to both of you for always being so supportive. I’m so glad you're here!!!
Jim, so do I. I can’t think of a better site to click on! We are so blessed to have a place to check to see if movies are clean, share what we love about them and be each other’s pray warriors. I love this family!!
DeleteAbigail, Awww... your words truly touched my heart!π
DeleteI'm so grateful God brought us all together here! It’s such a blessing to be able to share our love of movies and walk in faith together.
Thank you for being such a dear friend and special part of this IAWM family!! :)
Our little family is the best! I find myself checking in daily for news, comments, reviews and to see how everyone is doing. And, of course, checking to see if a movie is clean! This site has brought me so much joy for many years. Hugs to all of my friends here on this site! :-)
ReplyDeleteJoan, How sweet! Your comment brought such a big smile to my face! π It warms my heart to know this “family” means as much to you as it does to me! Thank you for all of your visits!
