How Would You Review "When Hope Calls" Season 2?

For those of you who watched When Hope Calls" Season 2, what were your thoughts on the finale episode and the season overall?

Be sure to send your reviews to Great American Family, but I would also love to hear from you. Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

I'm currently on watch for any news on a potential season 3. After that season 2 cliffhanger (not going to spoil the ending for anyone who hasn't seen it, yet), I'm thinking it's gotta be a sure thing. Right? I mean... they can't leave us there. Can they?

Anyway, here is my review of season 2, and I'd absolutely love to know your take on it, too!

------------------------------

My Review sent to Great American Family:

What a truly wonderful and exciting season 2 finale episode and a beautiful season of "When Hope Calls" overall! It was such a joy to see beloved characters return from season one while slowly being introduced to new ones who quickly found a place in our hearts.

What a joy to meet Nora Anderson, Mountie Michael Fletcher, Delores, Hannah Lawrence, Wyatt Parker, Maggie's parents, Mountie Jim Reynolds, and the children... Ruby, Charlotte, Annie, Art, Steve, and Wally. Even Jerry Huntsman was a thrilling new addition!

Thank you, Great American Family, for bringing this inspiring series back to life. I’m so grateful for the uplifting stories, the sweet orphan children, the meaningful touches of faith (would love to see even more!), the tender, gentle love stories—and really, just everything about it!

Each time I watch "When Hope Calls," I'm filled with a deep sense of peace and calmness. My family and I have rewatched every episode more times than we can count, and we're truly hoping for a third season.

God bless everyone at Great American Family for the amazing work you do!

  1. I really tried to watch a few times. I guess the storylines were not keeping my attention. I watch When Calls the Heart so I don't know. I am also not a fan of some of the actors but there are other shows of that nature and I enjoy the shows.

  4. I’m really hoping they put it on DVD. I couldn’t afford another subscription, so I had to pass on it. It sounds wonderful though.

  5. The storyline is superb and the old and new cast members are to be congratulated. The only downside is Cindy Busby crying and whining throughout the show. It took strong women to be a part and advance communities in that time period. Last cringe is the women’s incorrect hairstyles and occasional costume as in a what were they thinking moment. Only a “working gal” would wear her hair down. I understand budget, but I also wish they added costume rental to their cost. I will be watching and HOPE they make some adjustments. The content is timeless and certainly needed for family entertainment.

    1. The hairstyles aren’t that different than When Calls the Heart and both are representing the 1920s. Besides that, in my opinion, When Hope Calls is more authentic to the time period.

    2. I thought the WCTH hairstyles, wardrobe, and even the sets have been spot on with the times. Especially the last few seasons. The twenties are here!😊

  6. I cannot begin to tell you how much we love this show. My kids can’t wait to settle in Sunday nights with When Hope Calls. We’re really going to miss it now that it’s over. And my husband and I love it, too. There’s really something for everyone. Christie

  7. I have absolutely loved season 2 of When Hope Calls and am so glad GAF brought the series back to life! The writers were able to give Lillian a beautiful send off and draw me right into all the new characters. It was a nice surprise to see so many of the original characters back in Brookfield and to see so many of our GAF stars join the cast! I watched each episode a couple times on Pure Flix and again live on GAF. The writers had me laughing and getting misty eyed during every episode and left me excited for the next episode to drop!

The writing, acting, set designers, and costume/hair departments were all outstanding! I have read a few negative comments about the dresses and hair styles, but I thought the women looked right in style for the 1920’s. The styles are very similar to the ladies of When Calls the Heart which is also set in the same time period. Historical period pieces are my favorite and this series has just been amazing! WHC was full of mystery, humor, family, romance, and faith! I sure “hope” the series will be renewed for a longer season 3 and a WHC Christmas movie would be the cherry on top of a blue moon cake!

  8. Awesome finale & series! Kudos to the writers for creating these new characters in only 6 episodes. And now I’m hooked!

Incredible talent all around. All of the children are very cute. Terrific Mountie and rancher action. The near end kiss w Maggie and Sam, very sweet. And the cliffhanger! Wow! We need another episode/season ASAP!!!

  9. My wife and I enjoyed each episode. It took us back to the years of Little House on the Prairie. We watched the first season and weren’t certain we’d like the new actors coming in but they won us over, boy, did they. After the scene where the kids sing, I knew GREAT AMERICAN FAMILY had a hit on their hands. The show needs more episodes, though, assuming there is a season 3 based on the ending Sunday night. 10. I enjoyed this season and am really interested in how they will resolve the issues in the cliff hanger ending. It is really sad to me that all four of the original leads aren't in the show anymore, though. Lillian and Grace were the main storyline, along with Chuck and Gabriel. It just isn't the same without them. I wonder why their filming schedules always have to conflict with this show, and never the other way around. Can't they be in this one instead?
I do really like Cindy Busby and the other new characters, and I love all of the others that they brought back like Maggie, Ronnie, Tess, Joe, etc. But it was sort of strange having Sam recast.
Overall, I really love any prairie days sort of show, and this one was definitely better than When Calls the Heart has been recently!

  11. There has been no confirmation from Great American Family regarding a third season of When Hope Calls. However, Soaps.com suggests fans are hopeful for more seasons, but there's no word on renewal

I know you that you know Net, how I feel about When Hope Calls. I love it! I think one reason is because it reminds me of how WCTH was in the beginning. It's truer to the time period too. WCTH has gotten too much like a soap opera to me and I hope they don't do this to WHC! I think the acting on WHC has been great this season. I miss some of the old characters but the new ones are great, especially Cindy Busby. She has really surprised me with the heart felt performance she has done! I really hope there will be another season especially after that cliff hanger! Let's hope GAF is not like Hallmark and will cancel series that were left with cliff hangers!!
