⏰☀️ Spring Forward This Weekend ☀️⏰ Andrew Walker Gets The Royal Treatment in New Hallmark Movie Premiere, Plus Details on New Episodes of "When Calls the Heart" and "County Rescue"

Happy *Spring Forward* Weekend, Friends!

Despite the time change with Daylight Saving Time, I hope you all are able to feel relaxed, rested, and rejuvenated this weekend! It usually takes me a little time (no pun intended) to get used to the change; however, I love to see daylight hours slowly become longer as we reach spring!

Get ready for another enchanting weekend on the Hallmark Channel as Andrew Walker's latest film, The Reluctant Royal, makes its debut. Andrew portrays an every day sort of guy, a mechanic, who suddenly has ties to royalty! (Happens every day, right?) Even though it may not be exacly realistic, please don't get me wrong, I truly appreciate that these stories have a lighthearted, familiar feel that always have a happy ending. Our world can be pretty serious sometimes, so I genuinely enjoy how these tales are often fun, light, and entertaining. They typically make for a delightful viewing experience, and Andrew Walker has always been one of my favorites to watch! (My top 2 movies starring Andrew are Hallmark's "Dashing Through the Snow" and Lifetime's "Snowed-Inn for Christmas." Would love to hear yours, too, in the comments below!)

And don't miss the chance to join the town of Hope Valley as they celebrate a harvest festival in a brand new episode of When Calls the Heart.

Plus, there's a spark of new romance in the latest episode of County Rescue.

Take a closer look at the new programming below...

I hope you all enjoy your weekend as much as I enjoyed chatting with so many of you this week! Again, don't forget to change your clocks as we *Spring Forward* early on Sunday morning!

And you might want to check your DVR on Sunday, too... just to be sure that time is right, as well. I've got Andrew Walker's royal movie, The Reluctant Royal, all set to record, and I'm looking forward to watching the new episodes of County Rescue and When Calls the Heart.

Due to plans, I haven't had the chance to catch County Rescue early this week (through Pure Flix streaming), but I'm extremely curious to see what Dani's reaction will be when Tim starts showing interest in someone else.

As for When Calls the Heart, I can't wait to see what unfolds with the gold search and Little Jack when he goes missing. I know they'll find him, but I'm curious to learn where he has gone and why.

If you're interested in the classic Christmas movies airing on Friday nights, then you'll want to check out the Christmas Schedule!

Please note: I haven't pre-screened the new movie airing this weekend. If you'd like to post a review on whether this film is family-friendly, please share in the comments.

Have a Blessed Weekend,
Everyone!

  1. Hi Net, same here - Dashing Through the Snow and Snowed-Inn Christmas are my favorite Andrew Walker films too. And right behind these two I would add A Dream of Christmas, followed by My Family Christmas Tree.

  2. The movie Bridal Wave was on the other day and I forgot how much I liked that movie with Andrew Walker. Him and Arielle K are so good together in it. They play off each other well. Better than in A Bride for Christmas. I love when he is not allowed to have pupu's from the pupu platter at the resort. I love that movie cause he gets along with Georgie's family so well and they all seem to love him right away. We always call that movie "Washers and Dwyers" cause that is the name of the family company I think.

I do love Andrew and Nikki in A Dream of Christmas. I think they have the best chemistry in that movie.

And of course, I do LOVE, like Net, Snowed inn Christmas. He and Bethany Joy Lenz just make that movie look like it was flawless to make as they just acted so natural together.

    1. Sabrina, Love those movies, too! I so agree... Arielle & Andrew are fantastic together! It seems it has been forever since I've seen Bridal Wave, and it's one I used to watch all the time. I love how it has Jaclyn Smith in it as the mother of the groom. She's great at being a bit stuffy. And the banter between Andrew & Arielle is top-notch, much like Andrew & Bethany Joy Lenz. Thank you for the reminder of this movie! :)

  4. All in for the WCTH!! That is such a sweet daddy and son picture with mom smiling behind. I wonder what happens to Jack, kids do loose track of time and like to wander. I also wonder if this is what causes him to get sick later in the next coming episode.

Definitely watching the part 2 of the Royal series.

    1. Allie B, Yes, that's a good one, too! I recall Andrew saying that Lacey was the sweetest actress he's ever worked with. Not sure how the other actresses feel about that, but Lacey does have a reputation for being extremely kind, caring, and friendly. :)

  7. I am totally recording the Royal movie-absolutely love Andrew Walker. I love him in Wedding Planner Mystery, A Perfect Catch, Christmas in Tennessee from Lifetime, so many more! I agree Net, I love the light comedies and romance Hallmark gives us, very comforting and I love that I can record them and have so many saved to watch when I really need to relax/laugh.
    Have a great weekend everyone!

    2. Paula, I forgot to mention, I love “Wedding Planner Mystery,” too! That was going to be my 3rd movie pick. So glad you mentioned it! Andrew is great as the carefree journalist, and his banter with Erica Durance is seriously sooo good!

Also, love “Christmas in Tennessee”! Such a sweet movie!❤️🎄

Oh my! Favorite Andrew Walker movie! That's a tall order. Love so many of his movies and there are so MANY!! I agree with you and Mark 25, Snowed Inn Christmas and Dashing Through The Sow are at the top. But I shouldn't stop there. Here's s few more I just love.
    Appetite For Love
    The Perfect Catch
    Bottled With Love
    My Secret Valentine
    My Family Christmas Tree
    Bridal Wave
There are others, but these stand out! Hard not to like anything Andrew is in!! I'm not big on royal movies but will probably watch this one with Andrew. Also looking forward to the new County Rescue. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

    1. Joyce, I do love Appetite for Love too. That movie is so funny and great. I love Deacon and all his ideas. He wants to go on Shark tank with his macro brew idea. I love when he takes them on the "boat" tour and he says thats George Clooneys.......2nd cousins house (or something like that).
Andrew and Taylor are so good together in that movie. She was Mina when the movie started and then she slowly went back to being Willie by the end, found her true self. I love the band, Robin & Ryleigh that sing at the dance.

    Review: The Reluctant Royal
As I have stated before I'm not a huge fan of royal movies, but this one is great! Story is a little different from most of these movies with some healing from the past and new family relations started. Of course there's the usual romance as well and lots of comedy in this one that Andrew pulls off excellently! I can't think of any other other actor who could have played this part so well! It's a keeper and one I will watch over again! And family friendly!

  11. Dashing Through The Snow is just an okay movie for me, the ending with him charging in with the snowplough is OTT and ruins it for me.

I go right back to the beginning with his first movie for Hallmark A Bride For Christmas (with Arielle Kebbel)

I know there are some here who don't like any form of deceit whatsoever but for me this was such a fun movie with great banter between the leads - it was also my very first Hallmark movie I was so enthralled it cemented my love for the Rom.Com so that is probably part of the reason it means a lot to me.

Alongside this I would put My Family Christmas Tree which in many ways was quite a departure for Hallmark - a serious subject which was handled delightfully, a wonderfully scripted movie with superb performances all round.

The strange thing was that the romantic element was really only a by product, the main theme was the relationship between Vanessa (AK) and her "new" family in particular her supposed biological father played sensitively by James Tupper.

So although Andrew was ostensibly the leading actor in the movie he really had only a secondary role but it was just a wonderful movie from start to finish. - Florence

    1. Florence, Hey, we all like different things. However, I must say that scene you mentioned in "Dashing Through The Snow" happens to be one of my favorite parts of the movie. I've been a farm girl all my life, so when Andrew Walker shows up at the end driving the tractor and pulling the hay wagon in place of her father whose no longer there, my heart just melts. It is such a thoughtful, sweet gesture.

Anyway, thank you for also sharing your Andrew Walker favorites. He has so many good ones to choose from! :)

Oh Net, I agree on the scene where Andrew comes driving in on a tractor! I grew up on a farm too. That scene makes me think of my sweet daddy! I use to drive the tractor too. Did you ever drive a tractor Net?

    3. Joyce, Oh, I love knowing that you grew up on a farm, too! All of my family lives close and we all work on the farm together. And, yes, I can drive a tractor and combine. My daddy taught me, as well! :)

And, yes... the Easter countdown on GAF is lovely! Thank you, Maria, for mentioning all of this!!! :)

  16. Hi All,

Still trying to get caught upon everything. But, we did watch both "The Royal We" and "The Reluctant Royal". We liked both movies. They were both enjoyable. But, we thought "The Reluctant Royal" was the best of the two. Andrew and Emilie had off the charts chemistry. :-) Plus, the movie was both funny and heartfelt. It was nice to see the nasty Allister and his snobby mom get their comeuppance. They were not nice people. And, the scenery was spectacular.

    1. I neglected to mention it was also great to see a storyline, in "The Reluctant Royal", that was a departure from the same sometimes boring storyline we normally see. It is refreshing to see several other people here enjoyed this wonderful movie as much as we did. :-) I especially liked the ending!

    2. Joan, That's great you were able to catch up on two movies over the weekend. Thank you for both of these wonderful reviews!!!! :)

I had a family birthday celebration, so I didn't get to watch as much as I had hoped, except When Calls the Heart.

I won't spoil the episode for you, but the ending is very deep, touching the heart. Tissues may be required!!!

During the lighthearted portion, the community comes together and has a harvest festival dinner. As much as I love Pastor Joseph, I didn't like that before the meal he mentioned different faiths, and said it didn't matter what people believed. (I'm paraphrasing) As a Christian pastor, it should matter to him deeply what people believe and point the way towards Christ.

The storyline I thoroughly enjoyed throughout this episode was Allie and Oliver! Those two are so cute together; it was nice to watch them work through their troubles and have a positive ending.

Thank you again, Joan, for your wonderful movie reviews! Looking forward to hearing your take on WCTH, too! :)
