About the 'Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery' Series via Tonya Kappes website:

Welcome to Normal, Kentucky, where nothing is quite… normal. Meet Mae West, a former NYC socialite whose glamorous life comes to a screeching halt when her husband’s Ponzi scheme lands him in prison—and Mae without a dime to her name. Now, she’s inherited a campground in the middle of nowhere, complete with quirky campers, a rundown RV, and a town full of eccentric characters.

From scheming criminals to small-town secrets, Mae’s adventure in Normal is anything but a vacation. But with her new band of unlikely friends, including the no-nonsense property manager, Dottie, and a nosy (but lovable) group of locals known as the Laundry Club Ladies, Mae might just turn this little campground, and her life around. That is, if she can avoid the dead bodies that seem to be hidden in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

A Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery Series is full of laughter, lovable characters, and plenty of mystery that will keep you guessing, and coming back for more. Who knew life in Normal could be so delightfully strange?

My Quick Take:

This seems like such a unique story with lots of interesting characters. Has anyone here read this book series?

It also appears that this series will feature elements of mystery and comedy.

Any guesses who the female lead might be? A few names that keep coming to mind for me are Ashley Williams, Rhiannon Fish, or Kimberley Sustad.

Do you all have any thoughts? Guesses? If so, please share in comments below!

I haven't read this book series myself, but if you'd like to check out more details for the Camper & Criminals Mystery series, click here to read Amazon reviews.

  1. Goodness, I hope it is not Ashley Williams. I used to like her back when she was Poppy on October Kiss, but she is so silly in so many movies now, it is hard to watch. And a weekly show with her being silly and over the top, ugh. Rhiannon Fish, they have her in movies that I like, then she is way over the top in others.

I would prefer more like Emelie Ullerup, or Lindy Booth, or Jessy Schram, or Kimberly Sustad would be good. But just not Ashley Williams. I will not watch it then for sure. And not even cause of the things she pushes, just that I just cannot watch her over the top stuff, and it seems it is most everything nowadays. Rhiannon Fish the same thing. Poppy Summerall was fun, but then the movie with AW trying to save the tree, it started getting too over the top.

  3. Wow there are so many elements to this book series, such a strange premise with the campground and bodies turning up there….so Ashley Williams, I love her (first loved her acting and personality in Love on a Limb) but I don’t know if she would be the right fit in a serious role. Same with Rhiannon. I think Kimberly Sustad would be great! Some other picks of mine would be Autumn Reeser, Rachel Leigh Cook or Tamera Mowry Housley.
I’ll definitely give this one a watch!

  4. I would like to see Taylor Cole have another series! I love her acting. She was perfect as Ruby, curious to the bone, but not overly done in hyperness and cheesy.
