Happy Weekend, Friends!
This weekend, there are two new movie premieres, plus a new episode of "When Calls the Heart" on the Hallmark Channel, and "County Rescue" Season 2 begins on Great American Family!
Last night, I streamed "County Rescue" early through Great American Pure Flix, so I wrote up a brief review below. No spoilers included; I promise!
And, in case you missed my previous post, Great American Family will be airing all of the season 1 "County Rescue" episodes on Wednesday, February 26th. (see schedule times - here)
See all of the details for the new programming this weekend below...

*Please note: This movie contains adult themes such as... IVF (In vitro fertilization) pregnancy, the death of a young adult, a medical crisis, emotional distress, etc...
*You may also want to note that the runtime for the movie "Someone Like You" is 1 hour and 58 minutes; therefore, with commercials, the movie is 3 hours long.

Season 2, Episode 1 - After the Flood:
With Duke's return fast approaching, Dani realizes her job is on the line; she questions God's path for her as she discovers her ex-fiance is back in town and faces a family emergency.
Review: I watched the first episode of County Rescue early through Great American Pure Flix. This was an excellent opener to the second season, which begins with an inspirational scripture and a quick recap of highlights from season 1.
This EMT team is genuinely a close-knit group that collaborates nearly seamlessly. They face challenges with resilience, integrity, and a strong belief in each other and God.
Once again, Dani struggles with her feelings of belonging and uncertainty about the future, especially with the return of her ex-fiance. And it's obvious Dani's fellow EMT co-worker, Tim, has feelings for her, but I'm not sure she'll ever see him as more than a friend.
I remember hearing that the episodes for season 2 would be an hour long, but I noticed that the first episode was only about 30 minutes. With commercials, however, the show will air for 45 minutes on Great American Family.
Even within the limited timeframe, there are still plenty of impactful and heartwarming scenes. This first episode features a bit of light medical drama, making it more appropriate for mature pre-teens and older.
It was delightful to reconnect with these characters, and I can't wait to see them work through the new challenges that await them. ~Net

Season 12, Episode 8 - The Show Must Go On:
Rosemary's play gets a new venue and a new cast. Elizabeth takes her curriculum to the airwaves. Faith helps a friend make a decision. Lucas faces unexpected opposition.
I hope you all enjoy the new movies/episodes this weekend. In case you missed it, I posted a review above for County Rescue.
Recently, I checked out some online reviews for "Someone Like You," and it seems like critics on Rotten Tomatoes have pretty mixed opinions and there are some mixed reviews on IMDB from movie goers, as well. Have any of you seen it? If so, I would love to know your thoughts on it.
*Also, if you're curious about the Christmas movies airing on Friday night, be sure to visit the Christmas Schedule. I'll be keeping this page updated all throughout the year.
Please note: I haven't pre-screened the new movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in the comments.

I will be celebrating this wonderful weekend with County Rescue! (all my CBS shows got renewed yesterday and I'm ready to celebrate alll weekend!). And I highly recommend Someone Like You. Ignore the negative reviews, they are never kind to most faith based movies. -Maria
ReplyDeleteI am going to be watching Someone LIke You did not get a chance to see it in the theaters. And second 2 of County Rescue i have been waiting for this
ReplyDeleteI’m so glad we get to see Rosemary embrace her joy in the theater again after many years.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t like Someone Like You. The main guy in the movie Dawson initially likes this girl named London, but after she dies suddenly, he discovers she has a secret twin sister Andi who was conceived through in vitro. Dawson sets out to find her. He hardly takes time to grieve for London. Then he develops feelings for Andi. It’s all quite complicated. Andi, who is adopted, quickly turns her back on her adoptive family when she finds out they hid the truth about her birth. There are so many troubling aspects of this movie that it's hard to mention them all. It's just not good. Melissa
ReplyDeleteThey lost me when he started falling for the dead girls sister all within like a span of a month. It made me feel really uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteDo you think GAF may need to rethink the number of commercials for “Someone Like You”? I know commercials pay the bills, but limited commercial interruptions may hold the audience. I will be watching despite the commercials because it is an interesting storyline.
ReplyDeleteBest to all,
Gabe’s Mom
I’ll be recording both movies, don’t know when ill be able to watch them though…we have a busy weekend as the cherry blossoms are finally in full bloom here so we are taking family photos tomorrow. Have a blessed weekend everyone!
