So... did you watch any of these Christmas movies over the holiday season?
My pick of these three Christmas movies is Santa Tell Me since it's a true romantic-comedy. It's lighthearted and hilarious, with a great cast of supporting characters. Was it my #1 pick of ALL the Christmas movies for the 2024 holiday season? No, but it was still an enjoyable watch; it's one that I would watch again when I need a good laugh-out-loud laugh!
I'd love to know your thoughts on these movies, as well. Ratings, of course, do not equate whether a movie was likeable. So, did you like/love/dislike these three movies? Do you have a favorite of the three?

DeleteI saw the Three Wise Men and a Little Boy and Santa Tell Me. They weren’t great enough to buy, but I enjoyed something new and enjoyed seeing Dan and Erin together again. And that’s great news about WCTH!
ReplyDeleteThat’s a hard one! I loved both Santa Tell Me (true romantic comedy as you stated Net) and The Wiser Men & A Boy (romantic comedy with some heartfelt moments intertwined)

ReplyDeleteIMHO the following thoughts:
Three “Wiser” Men and a Boy did not come across as well as the original. The men appeared to have not grown emotionally in the five years.
Santa Tell Me again tries to revive two actors from a famous and popular role with mediocre luck. Erin & Daniel obviously can present great performances as a couple. I felt Daniel’s talents were set aside to focus on slapstick. Erin needed a better wardrobe. She wore clothes that aged her and did not complement her or enhance her role.
The movies were okay, but not memorable. They did make for good Christmas movie watching.

Holiday Touchdown was better than I had anticipated, Three Wiser Men and a Boy was worse than I had anticipated, and Santa Tell Me was, well, I didn't have any expectations but I enjoyed it primarily because of the acting.

I only watched 2 out of the three. I didn’t watch The Three Men and a Baby. I liked the other 2 but Santa Tell Me would be the number one out of the three. Elizbeth
ReplyDeleteEDIT: WCTH was not renewed, it had Season 12 listed instead of 13 and I forgot that 12 is this current Season. -Maria
ReplyDeleteHallmark will have to look very closely at the figures - cable ratings are progressively falling and they must be disappointed with the actual figures especially that for Three Wiser Men and A Boy, it is significantly down from the original movie.

1 7.3 A Reason For The Season
2 7.2 Following Yonder Star
3 7.1 Santa Tell Me
4. 7.1 'Twas The Text Before Christmas
5. 7.0 Three Wiser Men And A Boy
Even these are down, normally there have been several movies with ratings of 7.5+
My prediction is that next year Hallmark will drop the number of Christmas movies to 40 or even less - Florence

ReplyDeleteI tried so hard to get through 'Three Wiser Men and a Boy' but I found it to be uninspiring. In fact, I disliked it so much I decided to not even write a review. I was disappointed because I thoroughly enjoyed the first movie. In fact, I have watched it multiple times.
I did enjoy the ' Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story' because it centered around family. But, it did not make it on my own list of top favorite Hallmark Christmas movies of 2024.
Of their top three, I agree with you that 'Santa Tell Me' was definitely the best of those movies. It was sweet, funny and overall enchanting. Erin and Daniel were magical together. And, I also agree with you about the movie not being my personal choice as the #1 Hallmark Movie of the Christmas Season.
I felt compelled to do a top 5 list because I really enjoyed all five of these movies below but especially the top 3. Here is my list.

I liked Santa Tell Me best, but my husband and kids liked Thhe Three Wiser Men and a Boy. I liked it, but not as much as the first one. Christie
