I love this image of the Carolers singing around this lovely Christmas tree; it makes me think of sweet memories of Christmas tree lightings and the Dickens Christmas carolers I've seen. I can just imagine the carolers singing... O Come Let Us Adore Him!

    What a lovely post Net, this definitely lifted my spirits today. I cannot believe this is the last weekend of Christmas movies! Feels like they just premiered in October, makes me so sad! I am so thankful for the community you have made for us all to gather, laugh and share the love of Christ with one another. Praying everyone has a blessed holiday with family, lots of yummy food and desserts, beautiful church services and enjoy these last few movies. Thankfully I have so many recorded I’ll be watching Christmas movies into the new year which will be perfect to get me through the gloomy winter days.

    Hi! Merry Christmas! Wow! I had never heard of that rendition of the song! What a great song to share with our non-Christian friends and family! Thanks for sharing! When I read the first part of your post, I thought of the song “Winter Snow” with Audrey Assad and Chris Tomlin. There are different videos for it….like snowy scenes and one with lyrics and literal pictures of other weather mentioned in the song. It is a good reminder that Jesus being born in a stable was part of His plan which Mary and Joseph didn’t understand but trusted anyway as they had throughout her pregnancy, and we need to trust His plan for our lives even when we don’t understand it.

    Like you, I so appreciate GFAM for their faith-based movies. How far backward things have gone from decades ago when Christian messages appeared in broadcast movies like “When Christmas Comes to Willow Creek” from CBS which I just saw for the first time. Your readers can catch it for free through Freevee. May your readers feel the love, joy, and peace of Jesus now and always!

    What an absolutely lovely and heartfelt post! I love everything about it. The words, the scripture, the images, and the message. This is my favorite time of year and has been since I was a small child. I have such wonderful memories of childhood Christmases. My parents didn't have a lot of money but they always made sure our Christmas was special. Plus, we got to visit my grandparents in the city and my grandparents in the country. Mom was a country girl and my Dad was a city boy but somehow they met and I know it was God's plan all along. They had a amazing marriage full of joy and love and respect. Sadly my mom passed over 21 years ago and I still miss her. She was the best mom I could hope for and my dad had the best partner in the world. Anyway, may God bless each one of us as we celebrate another blessed Christmas season. I look forward to 2024 with hope.

    I had to tell you, I heard that Hallelujah song on that radio last week, but had no idea who was singing it. I was blown away when I heard it. I’ll have to look up Cloverton now.     Reviews:

    The Christmas Break- Yeah, definitely intended for adults. Swearing, sex themes, slightly too much drinking. But despite all that, it was pretty funny and charming.

    Miracle in Bethlehem PA is another fantastic Dayspring movie! And best of all, this 1 doesn't feel like the 'odd ball' in the lineup, it fits right in with this year's clean lineup! I hope there's more of these planned for 2024.

    I have a review, but first, merry Christmas to everyone, and thank you Net for running this page! Miracle in Bethlehem, PA was family friendly, and like the previous Dayspring movies, more obvious with the faith elements than most Hallmark fare. The main character, Mary Ann, prays several times, the characters are frequently in church, and they discuss the verse James 1:17: "Every good and perfect gift comes from above." Best of all, as the family prays over their Christmas Eve meal, they thank God for His gift of the savior! The concept of the movie was a tiny bit cheesy: "Mary" Ann adopts a baby right before Christmas, but when she's stranded in Bethlehem, PA during a blizzard, there is no room at the inn. But, the innkeeper's brother, JOSEPH, has a spare room. His house is a mess (like a barn, I guess?), and he has a dog named Donkey. His sister's name is Frankie (Frankincense), his mom Goldie (Gold), and his grandma is Myrtle (Myrhh). However, the way they all support and give freely to Mary Ann and her baby girl Natalie was very sweet. The only thing I didn't like was how fast everything went. In the beginning of the movie, Joseph's girlfriend dumps him because he's a loser who never cleans his house and lays around all day playing video games. What seems like that same night, he takes in Mary Ann and her baby. Two days later, the roads open, but Mary Ann's car won't start. It's Christmas Eve, so she spends it with his family. When they get home, they almost kiss, but ex-girlfriend has shown up, missing Joe. She's upset because he's suddenly started cleaning his house and being responsible and seemingly moving on to a new girl, and they literally just broke up. Well, ex-girlfriend kind of has a point, lol. It seems a little unrealistic that he'd fall in love with Mary Ann and completely change in less than three days. Then at the end they are hinting at still being together next year? When you met three days ago? BUT, it is Hallmark we're talking about. So still a sweet movie, I just liked the other Dayspring offerings better (especially The Blessing Bracelet).

    Miracle in Bethlehem...
    Very, very family friendly! I loved this one so much. This movie gave me the good chills the whole way through, especially when the mother and daughter have their chat, and I loved seeing the baby Natalie get passed around with Joe's family. They were so sweet and loving! Of course the best was that the Lord is mentioned so many times throughout and Scripture is quoted as well. Another thing I enjoyed was seeing the adoption. Babies are such a wonderful gift and it always warms my heart to see a child sparred from abortion. I can't write this without crying.
    It did bother me that they were living together in the same house alone. And I was hoping he would shave his 5 o'clock shadow. He looked scruffy to me (same reason why I don't like the Mathew McFadden Mr. Darcy...haha;) At least he cleaned up later. I'll have to watch this one every year! I was smiling the whole time!😊

    I just read an interesting - and rather bothersome - statistic. According to a New York Times article, a survey was done of this year's Hallmark Christmas movies. It found that only 53 percent of this year's titles include the word "Christmas", down from an average of 73 percent if movies from past years are included (a total of 424 movies). The reason? According to Hallmark's programming executive Lisa Hamilton Daly, "they are holiday movies" and "you run out of adjectives and adverbs to use with Christmas". Uh-huh, but we know the real reason...!

    It's been a busy week for us and I only got to watch 2 movies... 2 good ones!


    MIRACLE IN BETHLEHEM, PA *clean*
    Family friendly (main characters did stay in one house alone, in different rooms) and not shying away from the faith elements, which is rare for Hallmark these days, so for this alone, I am grateful for. Loved that a scripture was mentioned. Lots of analogy and likeness with the birth of Jesus story. Ben Ayres was great in this. I loved seeing his character development from being a lazy gamer to rocking baby Natalie to sleep. That scene of him with the baby sling dancing was hilarious. I also loved the ending scene of Mary Ann and her Mom, it made me cry. This was so well done, so well written by Hallmark. I'd watch it over and over again. This is probably in the top 3 of my favorite Christmas movies this year.

    TWAS THE TEXT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
    This was really cute. It was definitely an unusual story, but I kind of liked it. The romance was very slow burn, built throughout the years, but I think it was cute and sweet. Merritt Patterson and Trevor Donovan's movies were usually hit or miss for me, but here they had good chemistry and it was definitely a hit.

    MIRACLE IN BETHLEHEM, PA is family friendly. Even though it it's very religious compared to most movies these days, it's not one of my favorites. Didn't care for the lead actress and the chemistry between the leads wasn't that great. It's a one time watch for me.

    Review: Mom's Christmas Boyfriend -
    Family-friendly? Yes -
    Keeper? I can't believe I am saying this, but borderline Yes -

    Before I started watching this, I thought for sure I was going to be writing a negative review. A not-very-interesting plot, with mostly unfamiliar actors, on LIfetime. But...

    Recently I mentioned how lately there seemed to be a dearth of Christmas movies that have a cute well-behaved child in a prominent role. (Some years ago there seemed to be an abundance of them!) Well, here is one! Ai Barrett won me over in her role as an adopted child wishing for her mom to find a boyfriend this Christmas. She was great at being both serious and humorous, and I hope we see here in more films in the future. The other thing I enjoyed seeing was the caring that was shown throughout between the mother and daughter - both were really looking out for each other. I won't bother with the rest of the details - the plot and the rest of the acting won't win any prizes - but because of the mother-daughter relationship and the top-notch acting by Ai, I am giving this a slight yes.
