Apple TV+ still owns the rights ("Oh, Good Grief!") to the Peanuts animation collection, but thankfully, the platform is still offering non-subscribers an opportunity to watch both of the Peanuts Gang Thanksgiving and Christmas cartoons for FREE again this year!

Here are the dates and times you'll want to tune in to watch for free, if you don't have a subscription to Apple TV+...

(Details below via Apple TV+ press release.)

"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" - 50th Anniversary

Stream for FREE Saturday, November 18 to Sunday, November 19

Celebrating 50 years of this Peanuts classic, Peppermint Patty invites everyone to Charlie Brown's for Thanksgiving, even though he's going to see his grandmother. Snoopy decides to cook his own version of a Thanksgiving meal with help from his friends.

"A Charlie Brown Christmas"

Stream for FREE Saturday, December 16 to Sunday, December 17

In this beloved Peanuts special, feeling down about the commercialism of Christmas, Charlie Brown becomes the director of the gang's holiday play. Can he overcome his friends' preference for dancing over acting, find the "perfect" tree and discover the true meaning of Christmas?

If you have a subscription to Apple TV+, they will also be premiering a new Peanuts special...

"The Snoopy Show" - Happiness is Holiday Traditions

Premieres Friday, December 1

In "Happiness is Holiday Traditions," Snoopy searches for the perfect tree topper; Woodstock gets trapped in a window display; and Snoopy and Woodstock visit Spike for Christmas. An Apple TV+ original series from Peanuts and WildBrain, "The Snoopy Show" gives the world's most iconic dog his close-up and dives into new adventures with the happy-dancing, high-flying, big-dreaming beagle, who's joined by best friend Woodstock and the rest of the Peanuts gang. Josh Scherba, Anne Loi, Stephanie Betts, Paige Braddock, Craig Schulz and Mark Evestaff serve as executive producers. Alex Galatis serves as executive story editor.

Previous Peanuts cartoons are also available on the Apple TV+ streaming platform, including "Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales," "I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown," "It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown," and more.

There's nothing quite like the scene when the spotlight shines on Linus center stage in "A Charlie Brown Christmas" as he shares the story of Jesus' birth straight from the scripture Luke 2:8-14...

"And there were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the fields,
keeping watch over their flocks by night.
And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of The Lord shone round about them,
and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them,
Fear not, for behold,
I bring unto you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day
in the City of David,
a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you;
you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes
and lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel,
a multitude of the heavenly host,
praising God, and saying,
'Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men'.

That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown."

I hope many of you will enjoy watching these beloved Peanuts cartoon classics!

  1. Thank you for the info Net! I used to watch Charlie Brown every year with my mom and siblings (my husband never watched them) so now I can watch with my own family this year. Our 5 year old is old enough to sit through it and understand it now and she loves watching and doing traditions I used to do when I was little :)

  2. Jim, I 100% percent agree! There was nothing like that special night on ABC when it felt like we all watched "A Charlie Brown Christmas" together.

I feel like many children will not have the opportunity to watch it as we did growing up. And some of those children, sadly, may not know the true meaning of Christmas.

I'm sure the new Peanuts cartoons are cute, but for me, they can never replace the Christmas special, and I fear that's what they are trying to do. I'm so glad I have it on DVD - so I can have it forever and don't have to rely on them to play it.

  3. I miss being able to watch it on network TV.
