Wild Bill Hickok
& The First Quick Draw Duel
Synopsis: Wild Bill Hickok and his buddy, Davis Tutt, see their friendship fall apart over gambling debts and the affections of a beautiful woman. After Tutt swipes Wild Bill’s prized timepiece as payback for a disputed debt, things begin to heat up. Then, when Tutt parades through town with the watch in one hand and Hickok’s former girlfriend in the other, Wild Bill’s blood begins to boil. Tutt refuses to return the watch, and he continues to flaunt the beautiful woman on his arm. The two men meet in the middle of town to settle their differences once and for all in what will become the very first quick-draw duel of the Old West. Both men reach for their pistols at the same time and fire! In an attempt to separate the truth from the fiction, Bat Masterson, legendary gunfighter-turned-newspaperman, interviews George Ward Nichols, the journalist who immortalized the duel and created the legend of Wild Bill Hickok.

Storyline via Hallmark: Tess gets invited to be a part of a popular game show, but when the host is unexpectedly murdered, she and Detective Logan O'Connor seek to uncover who was behind it all.
Sunday, April 11, 2021:
An all new chapter unfolds in...
Storyline: Elizabeth focuses on teaching Angela how to read braille. Rosemary and Lee struggle to give Rachel the freedom she was promised in Hope Valley. Bill feels displaced when he’s asked to finally return his Mountie uniform.
All the new premieres look extra good this weekend! I love that Jon Cor is playing a past love interest for Lacey Chabert in this new Crossword Mystery, especially since Jon and Lacey starred together in Love on Safari. Since they already have that rapport together, it makes this storyline seem even more realistic, and definitely more interesting as we watch Detective Logan learn of their past romantic history.
The promos for the new UPtv movie, A Love to Remember, look rather cute. The movie's plot sounds quite a lot like an updated carbon copy of the popular 90's rom-com, While You Were Sleeping, which is a movie I've always adored. Not sure this one can top it, but I'm optimistic it will be enjoyable to watch too!
I plan to record and watch all of the new movies eventually, but I always watch When Calls the Heart on Sunday night. How about you? Which one (or more) are you looking forward to watching?

“Not yet.”

2) he can make it into confident dismissal of you
“Save it.”

When Elizabeth finally realized she supposed to be with? It’s Nathan & Allie
Allie looks so devastated that she wants Mrs Thornton (Elizabeth) for her Uncle Nathan because she wants them together
Little Jack wants Nathan for his Mom; Elizabeth & he manages to call Nathan, Daddy

As Luck Would Have It
ReplyDeleteGarcia Swisher plays Lindsey, a successful manager at a hotel development company who travels to Ireland to acquire land that is perfect for a luxury resort. To gain favor among the townspeople, she decides to enter the town's world-renowned matchmaking festival to prove her investment in the community and win over a handsome local, Brennan (Downton Abbey's Allen Leech), who's less than willing to help. Of course, in classic Hallmark fashion, Lindsey and Brennan somehow find a way to work together -- and maybe fall in love along the way.
"During COVID, my grandmother had spent a lot of time watching Hallmark movies and I was visiting her right before I had gotten sent the script. I had been asked to do some over the years but I just hadn't been able to with timing and work," Garcia Swisher told ET over the phone. "She said, 'Why don't you ever do one of these?' I was like, 'You know, Grandma, I'm going to do one for you so you can watch one and it'll make you happy.'" The 41-year-old actress received the script for As Luck Would Have It less than two weeks later and included in the story was a sweet thread involving the main character's grandmother. The stars aligned. "I thought, 'OK, I'm listening to the signs. This is the one.'"

ReplyDeleteI've been convinced LJ will actually call Nathan "daddy" since he saw Jack in his Red Serge and seeing Nathan spends so much time with him. That will help Elizabeth decide what Little Jack wants
When Nathan walks into to see Elizabeth with Little Jack holding & Lucas. Little Jack sees Nathan when he walks away so Elizabeth puts Little Jack down the floor when Little Jack manages to call Nathan, Daddy with Nathan’s Niece, Allie. Nathan holds Little Jack, when Nathan asks Little Jack, Did you called him Daddy. Nathan hands Little Jack to his Niece, Allie. Nathan left with his horse, Newton. Allie puts Little Jack down as he runs toward him by saying Daddy (Little Jack cries). Allie grabs Little Jack up to hold him.So, Elizabeth with Jack Jr. & Allie.
That would certainly be interesting if Little Jack called Nathan "Daddy" because of his Mountie uniform. I could easily see that taking place, and I just can imagine both Nathan's and Elizabeth's responses and glances at one another if that happened.
DeleteThanks for the reminder on the Wild West Chronicles. Because of you I recently discovered I had INSP when Blue Ridge premiered. That was a good movie why don’t they make more of them?
ReplyDeleteSo glad I could introduce you to INSP! It is such a great, family-friendly channel.
DeleteEach episode of the the Wild West Chronicles is 30 minutes long. There are 15 episodes in Season 1 and they'll continue to air on Sundays at this time.
I'm with you - I would really like to see INSP make more movies: mysteries or a family friendly rom-com. Let's hope they make more!
Net I love 90s rom com movies! WHile you were Sleeping is THE BEST! Sandra Bullock is stellar in her performance. It’s iconic! I saw the promo for Love to Remember & read the plot, it does have a WYWS feel. I’m in!
ReplyDeleteAlso, don’t tell anyone but I’m going crazy over WCTH and trying to figure out who Elizabeth will pick! This has been the best season yet!
Em, (*whispering*) I won't tell a soul.
DeleteThat's exactly my thoughts - on While You Were Sleeping and WCTH! Both have won my heart over, too! Hope you enjoy watching Sunday night! :)
Nathan, Elizabeth, Allie, & Little Jack could start a family too
ReplyDeleteLike going fishing, eating ice cream, etc...
I am excited for the new movies and new Crossword Mystery. Not a fan of WCTH but rooting for Kevin/Nathan to win! Enjoy reading all the comments on WCTH. I feel your excitement! Hope it ends the way you want.
ReplyDeleteThank you, kitkat, I'm hoping too, but I feel bad for either side who doesn't get their pick here. Hopefully fans will not be turned off if Elizabeth doesn't pick the man they've chosen. I have a favorite, of course, but I'm almost at the who cares phase. I'm so invested in the rest of the stories, that wild horses could keep me from Hope Valley!
DeleteNet, I fell in love with those pillow covers! Had to order them. They are so beautiful! They say Spring to me. What a glorious time of the year!
ReplyDeletekitkat, That's wonderful! I'm so glad you liked the pillow covers. I just fell in love with the country farmhouse feel of them. I got some new covers just before Easter and it just felt so fresh and new welcoming Spring! Enjoy! Enjoy! :)

I'm so curious to find out what happened at fort clay in when calls the heart... one idea that popped into my head was do you think that jack had an affair? I don't know why but I feel like that could be a possible scenario. It would cause elizabeth to have no problem letting go of him and moving onto nathan. When nathan and elizabeth first met he told her "your husband was an excellent mountie" and she replied "jack was an excellent man." Nathan only said "yes of course" and then proceeded to give her the check. And jack was away a lot on "mountie missions". Or maybe jack made a mistake with his work and they didn't want to tell her that his death was his own fault? So curious!
ReplyDeleteI am quite curious, as well, to see what Nathan will reveal about Fort Clay and what the fallout will be. It's also interesting that Lucas is shown in the background, once again, watching their exchange.
DeleteSince WCTH is a family friendly show, I'm not feeling there was any kind of affair going on with Jack. There definitely was some sort of issue... I think your idea of Jack taking some sort of risk is a good guess and maybe, somehow, Nathan was a part of that, but didn't really know Jack.
Guess we'll find out tomorrow!!!
As Luck Would Have It
ReplyDeleteA woman visits to search for a plot of land to build a future resort, where she also participated in a local matchmaking festival
Enjoying As Luck Would Have It.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to WCTH.

So glad to hear that, Denise! I'm looking forward to it!

JoAnna Garcia Swisher Reveals Whether She Would Ever Use a Matchmaker
ReplyDeleteShe's happily married to former New York Yankee Nick Swisher, but the star says if she weren’t so lucky, "I would totally have been game for it"
In her new movie As Luck Would Have It, airing on The Hallmark Channel Saturday, Garcia Swisher's character attends a matchmaking festival in Ireland. Of course, the actress herself hasn't needed a matchmaker since 2010, when she married former New York Yankee Nick Swisher.
"I would always have been up for something like that," she tells PEOPLE. "I mean I was set up by a friend of ours to meet my husband, but I think they seem so fun. I would totally have been game for it."
In the movie, Garcia Swisher's character is a businesswoman who travels to a small Irish town as they are holding their annual matchmaking festival. It's based on the annual singles celebration in Lisdoonvarna, Ireland, which claims to be the largest in Europe.
"The matchmaking festival is a real thing in this town in Ireland," she says.
"The man [Willie Daly] is a very well-known figure," the Reba alum, 41, continues. "It is amazing. It's such a beautiful Irish tradition. And you do these traditional sort of choreographed dances, with the energy and the comradery that feel quintessentially Irish, which makes the culture so just incredible."
Her costar in the film is a familiar face — and an old family friend — Downton Abbey's Allen Leech.
"Allen married my best friend's little sister," says Garcia Swisher. "They're like family to me. His mom actually cooked me dinner a couple of times while I was there shooting because no restaurants were open. It was a nice comforting touch going over to be there with his family and Allen and to feel really well taken care of."
Her favorite moment came at the end of filming, when they were shooting the big celebration, called a ceilidh.
"People hadn't been to pubs and been able to share a pint and have a proper time together in a very long time," she says. "I think our last take, I think Allen said, 'Can we just listen to the music, the live music?' And so they said, 'Okay, one time for everyone.' And at the end, people were just so happy. They were like, 'It's been so long since we've had a chance to do that.'"
As Luck Would Have It premieres Saturday on The Hallmark Channel.

Crossword Mysteries: Riddle Me Dead
ReplyDeleteTess gets invited to be a part of a popular game show, but when the host is unexpectedly murdered, she & Detective O’Connor uncover who was behind it all
Crossword Mysteries "Riddle Me Dead" was wonderful! Loved every moment! The ending was perfect. It is family friendly as always. Not sure I would let kids watch murder mysteries though. This world we live in is traumatizing enough to little minds.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you for sharing this review, kitkat! So glad you enjoyed it and it's family friendly. I agree about mystery movies not being for little ones. I typically say it should be at least 12 years and up on these, but sadly, I know a lot of children these days watch much worse.
DeleteI shared your review for others to see on the main "Crossword Mysteries: Riddle Me Dead" post here:

Hey KitKat! How was the Crossword Mystery? Hoping to hear it is family-friendly!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, Be sure to read kitkat's review above! ^
DeleteAnonymous, the only problem with this Crossword Mystery is it ends so quickly! The fastest two hours ever. Wish Lacey and Brennan had a new show each week like WCTH. Perfect match! If you don't love it, please let me know. Jon Cor played his part well also.
DeleteOh thank you! I’m so happy!!! ~ Anonymous
DeleteWhat is the next Hallmark Mysteries Movies that will be on DVD?
ReplyDeleteChris, Looks like the next Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Mystery Movie release is Ruby Herring - see here:
Deletehttps://amzn.to/3mMVHrR
What Hallmark Mysteries Movies that you have on DVD? The Mysteries Movies that I have on DVD is Crossword Mysteries 3 Movie Collection.
DeleteSaw an earlier post from Jane on her DVR cutting off near the end of "As Luck Would Have IT". My DVR cut off near the end of "A Love To Remember". Have not watched it yet but I expect to miss the ending. This happened one time before during recording of "The Angel Tree" and I missed the ending.
ReplyDeletekitkat, Oh no... that's no good. Guess we'll have to be sure to keep an eye out for the start & end times now, just in case!
DeleteNet, I think it is a problem with Xfinity. Comcast seems to be having major issues lately. My husband is having problems on his TV also.
DeleteNathan can read the books and build the shelves. π I actually loved this. Rosemary wasn’t actually in love with Jack, and I think she realizes that Nathan really is in love with Elizabeth after this conversation
ReplyDeleteWhen Calls the Heart': Rosemary Tries to Convince Nathan to Let Elizabeth Go (Exclusive)
In ET's exclusive clip, Rosemary runs into Nathan in the library. She tells him the story of her brief engagement to Jack Thornton prior to Elizabeth's romance, and eventual marriage, to the late Mountie. Specifically, Rosemary laments, 'I may have caused Elizabeth & Jack some unhappiness along the way.' While Nathan appears to understand Rosemary's point, he ultimately tells her he simply cannot let Elizabeth go so easily.
The past few episodes have suggested that this is likely, but we’ve never felt like they have fully closed the door on Nathan, either. He’s still there and, even in spite of the recent reveal, he still wants to be with Erin Krakow’s character. We think that ultimately, it will take her a little bit of time in order to accept that he was meant to be in charge instead of Jack the death of the character’s death. While there was no way Nathan could’ve known what was coming, this is not an easy pill for anyone to swallow.
ReplyDeleteDo you guys have any Hallmark Mysteries Movies on DVD in your collection?
ReplyDeleteChris, Yes! I have Signed, Sealed, Delivered, Murder She Baked, Fixer Upper Mysteries, Garage Sale Mysteries, Mystery Woman, and Aurora Teagarden! Planning to add more soon, especially Mystery 101! :)
DeleteThe Mysteries Movies that I have on DVD is Crossword Mysteries since Signed Sealed Delivered counts than Signed Sealed Delivered To the Altar

ReplyDelete‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 8, Episode 8 Recap: Nathan’s Secret Revealed
ReplyDeleteSo far, When Calls the Heart Season 8 hasn’t lacked for drama. From the unexpected arrival of Gowen’s son to Ned’s brush with death, every episode has offered up new twists, keeping Hearties on the edge of their seats. “A Parade and a Charade” was no exception. The preview suggested Elizabeth was finally going to find out Nathan’s big secret. Well, she did, and the revelation left her reeling

Elizabeth forgives Nathan
ReplyDeleteElizabeth — embracing her role as Hope Valley’s voice of wisdom — has two big conversations about love and loss this episode, one with Katie, and the other with Ned. Both are about the challenges of moving forward and learning to love again after the death of someone you care about. As she doles out advice, it’s obvious she’s speaking as much about herself as she is about Ned or Katie.
Elizabeth knows that eventually, she must move past her fear if she wants to open herself to another love. But will it be with Nathan or Lucas? At the reception, Lucas blunty warns Nathan off, telling him he could save Allie a lot of heartache if he “stopped pressuring Elizabeth
Nathan, unsurprisingly, isn’t exactly receptive to the idea. Soon after, Elizabeth asks to speak to him outside, and a surprised Nathan agrees.
Nathan, unsurprisingly, isn’t exactly receptive to the idea. Soon after, Elizabeth asks to speak to him outside, and a surprised Nathan agrees. (Poor Lucas, as usual, is left watching it all from the sidelines.) Outside the saloon, Elizabeth tells him she doesn’t blame him for Jack’s death. Nathan thanks her, and takes her hand, which Lucas sees as he walks by the window.
What does this mean for Elizabeth and Lucas?
ReplyDeleteThere are multiple ways to read Elizabeth’s conversation with Nathan. Is she signaling that she might be opening her heart and ready to pursue the relationship he’s been longing for? Or is she quietly freeing him of any obligation he feels he has to protect her? Nathan’s feelings for Elizabeth were tied up in his guilt over Jack’s death. Now that she’s absolved him, it will undoubtedly change their dynamic, but possibly not in the way some fans hope.
A romantic moment between Nathan and Elizabeth. He’s been patient so far, but it may push him to confront Elizabeth. If she is now romantically interested in Nathan, he deserves to know. But Elizabeth has also spent the last few episodes processing her lingering feelings over Jack’s death. It’s possible she’s come to some sort of peace and is now ready to be with Lucas.
