❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄

I hope you all have a peaceful and safe 3 day weekend. I'm looking forward to finally seeing the first all new mystery movie of the year. Jesse Metcalfe is one of my favorite Hallmark actors; I just love "A Country Wedding," "Christmas Next Door," and "Christmas Under the Stars." He's also great in the "Martha's Vineyard Mysteries" in the role of Jeff Jackson, a former police officer who was seriously injured in the line of duty and is supposed to be taking it easy, but instead, he keeps finding himself in the middle of new investigations.

The Winter Movie Countdown is always fun. I was surprised they didn't use the new phrase New Year, New Movies with this. Instead, they call them Winter Movies. Interesting, huh? Plus, something else different - the countdown doesn't air through the night. It ends on Friday night/early Saturday morning at 1am/12c. and begins again on Monday morning at 8am/7c.

Quick Movie Review: I was able to screen "The Baby Proposal," which premieres Sunday night on UPtv. It is lighthearted and Family Friendly. The leads are co-workers who mostly disagree, but are unexpectedly given the challenge of caring for a young baby girl, who is absolutely adorable. Reporters accuse them of having “an affair,” which is 100% not true. Other than that comment, it is completely G rated.

Please Note: I have not pre-screened the new Hallmark movies. If you happen to catch one of them and would like to share if they are family friendly, please leave a comment. Thank you!

Hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

Blessings, Net

  1. I’m not going to watch this movie; “The Baby Proposal”, is not suitable for children. Don’t let teenagers whose under 18 to watch this until 18 years age.

Sparks fly between a TV show host and her colleague when they become the unexpected guardians of a baby.

    1. Dove also reviewed “The Baby Proposal” as being family friendly. In fact, in their review they stated, "This is a delightful movie for the entire family."

“The Baby Proposal” also received the All Ages Dove Approved Seal.

  5. Can’t wait to see this new movie with Jesse Metcalfe! He’s one of my favorites too. I don’t get why all of the other mystery movies focus on the female leads.

  7. Yay! Jesse Metcalfe’s new mystery movie I saw family friendly! I know we have all been anxiously awaiting this next installment and first mystery movie of the year, but with Hallmark’s recent turn against family friendly content I was nervous about the new movie. I’m happy to say that all is clear and I hope it remains so for the rest of the movies!

  9. For me, the best Hallmark movies are the ones made with real snow. Living in the south, we don't have snow often. Loved "Two For The Win"! Have watched this 3 times! My favorite of the new movies.Trevor Donovan has a sweet personality.
"Winter Love Story" is another favorite. Made with real snow! Kevin and Jen really click in this! I bought this DVD when it was first released.

    1. kitkat, So happy to hear how much you like "Two for the Win." That Trevor Donovan is quite the cutie! It's actually the winter movie I'm looking forward to watching the most!

Also, just wanted to let you know - I added your great review to the New Year New Movies page! Thank YOU soooooo very much for sharing! :)

By the way, I also love "Winter Love Story!" I agree, Kevin McGarry and Jen Lilley are so fantastic together; I'm rather curious to see how Jen's chemistry will be with Chris McNally in Snowkissed!

    1. Oh my, Chris, that could be quite a list over the years...

      Hallmark Christmas movies with weddings:

      Marry Me at Christmas
      Christmas with Holly (jilted Bride)
      Jingle Bell Bride
      Meet Me at Christmas
      A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas
      Marrying Father Christmas
      Christmas Bells are Ringing
      The Christmas Train
      A December Bride
      Merry Matrimony
      A Bride for Christmas
Snow Bride (sort of, we see reception)
      Holiday Engagement

I'm sure there are more that I'm not thinking of at this moment.

  11. "Two for the Win" was enjoyable. Trevor Donovan is easily one of Hallmark's best guy actors, I think. I didn't care for his dad or for the leading lady (or her horrifically dyed hair) during the first half of the movie, but they all got nicer and straightened out for the second half. All the skiing scenes helped keep my husband awake, which is good.

    1. Amy, I've been noticing some really bad dye jobs this year, too! What is up with that?!?! If I can make it to my hair salon (in a covid-crazy, super-lockdown state!), surely these actors and actresses can find a professional hair stylist to color their hair???
Agree with your points about the leading lady and the dad.
I ended up liking this movie, even with the bad hair. :)
