3 Months Until Christmas Eve & Christmas Day!

Lacey Chabert - Hallmark Crown Media

On this September 24th & 25th,
as we're celebrating 3 months 'til Christmas Eve
and Christmas Day,
we can watch these two classic Christmas movies (see below)
& Mark the 25th one last time
before Christmas TV Movies
begin next month on October 23rd!

The Miracles of Christmas
"Thursday Night Feature"
airing September 24th
on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is...

Storyline via Hallmark: Corey Calvin dreamed of being a theater director in the city but that meant abandoning her late father’s antiques shop in her small hometown as well as leaving the local Christmas Pageant as director. When LA hunk Ryder Donnelly visits her shop, more than Christmas lights twinkle and their affection grows. A surprise gift from Ryder convinces Corey to attend a holiday soiree at the Donnelly estate. When Corey sees Ryder at her Christmas Pageant, she reaches a crossroads. Does she owe it to her dad’s memory to stay in Harmony or owe it to her heart and finally listen when love calls?

★★★★★★★★★★

The "Countdown to Christmas"
"Friday Night Feature"
airing September 25th
on the Hallmark Channel is...

Storyline via Hallmark: Angela, an American tour guide living in Rome, meets Oliver, an American business executive who is lost and late for an important meeting on his first day there. Angela helps him, but soon finds herself playing a central role in Oliver’s business deal, as the company owner will only sell to someone who understands the ways of Italy. Oliver hires Angela as his personal tour guide but gets far more than he bargained for, as a romance blooms between them amidst the backdrop of Rome at Christmastime and he must learn that life and business work differently in Italy.

Here at "It's a Wonderful Movie" we highlight every 25th day of the month - TOGETHER! - as we Countdown to Christmas! You can also join along!

Of the two movies Hallmark is airing this week, "Christmas in Rome," starring Lacey Chabert, is my pick! Over the weekend, I plan to also watch "A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love." I just love that heartwarming movie. May we all start to look for more *Godwink* moments in our lives today!

  1. With so much selfishness in the world today, I am really in the mood for a movie that exemplifies kindness. So I am going with one of my favorites from 2016...The Christmas Secret with Bethany Joy Lenz.

    1. Mark 25 - "The Christmas Secret" is a wonderful, perfect choice! In fact, I watched it this week, myself, when I heard the news about the Grandpa in the movie.

If you haven't heard, it was shared on social media that actor Michael Hogan, who portrays Marshal, the owner of Wilson's store in "The Christmas Secret," had a bad fall back in February and suffered a brain bleed.

His wife, Susan Hogan, who also starred in "The Christmas Secret," has shared these details, "The accident left him with complete paralysis on his left side, memory loss, cognitive impairment and an inability to swallow. Then things became incredibly more difficult during the COVID pandemic..."

I hope everyone here will join in prayer for Michael, Susan, and the Hogan family. If you'd like to read more about their situation, please see their GoFundMe Page here:

    3. Net, thank you so much for the information on Michael - I had no idea! I will definitely be keeping Michael, Susan and the family in my prayers.

I checked out the gofundme page, and apparently Michael and Susan received an abundance of well wishes from fans. She has been reading these wishes aloud to Michael, and both of them can't believe the outpouring of support! It is just so nice to see this kind of caring!!

    4. Mark 25, I think your choosing of this movie was God's timing - so that I would share this news with you and everyone here and more prayers would go up for Michael.

From everything I've read about them, Michael and Susan Hogan have such a beautiful marriage and family. I hope they can get him all the care he needs now.

I'm sure they appreciate all of our prayers.

    1. Glady, I so agree with you & Mark! "The Christmas Secret" is just one of those movies that holds a very special place in my heart, too, and it will always be one of my dear favorites!

There's just something about - small town, Wilsonville, Betty's Bakery, Christine, the kids, Jason, the missing locket, and well, everything!

Happy re-watching this movie whenever you get the chance! :)

    2. Add me to those who love The Christmas Secret. I bought the DVD. After seeing John Reardon (hope name is correct)in Love On The Sidelines, I searched for his movies and found this. A movie you won't forget.

    3. And I just love the part near the end, when Christine receives the surprise delivery and then the next day she and the couple meet for the first time! This always puts a big smile on my face!

    4. Mark 25, That delivery part with the doll is absolutely priceless, one of my MANY favorite parts of this movie, too! It truly touches the heart! Even though she needs the toys desperately she is honest and tries to return them to the store. That scene shows Christine's true, honest character.

I also love the Rosemary mix-up, especially when Betty is so befuddled on the phone, and then... when Jason calls Christine, Rosemary, and she grins, knowing he's wrong. It's so good! ALL of it!!!

  3. I am not a fan of Merry Christmas Match. It was very boring. Thanks for the updates Net! I am going to re-watch Let It Snow! I recently bought the DVD!

  5. A few months back I bought a DVD of The Last Straw. Haven't watched yet so that is what I will watch. It is a Christmas movie with a 5-Dove rating so it should be good. Net, do you think Christmas Jars will ever drop in price? I have been watching it on Amazon to see but I might just have to pay whatever to get it. I do want the DVD.

    1. kitkat, I've seen that movie! It has a very sweet message about giving. I hope you enjoy it.

As for the movie, "Christmas Jars," it's hard to say about price. I'm sure it depends on availability. They may have only released a certain number. I hope they'll produce more or bring the price down - because it is such a good one!

  6. I have a few still on my DVR collected here and there, I will either watch the showing of A Merry Christmas Match or my recording of a When Calls the Heart Christmas.
I absolutely watch for “God Wink” moments daily! Counting down with all of you. Happy Fall! πŸ₯°

    1. That's right. Plus, Lifetime had a wonderful Hanukkah & Christmas themed movie last year, too, titled "Mistletoe & Menorahs." If you haven't seen it, I absolutely recommend it, as I enjoyed it very much.

    1. Kathy, thank you for sharing your love for "The Christmas Secret." It is truly such a good movie! I know it's one I could simply watch over & over again!

Have you heard the news about actor, Michael Hogan, who portrayed the Grandpa in the movie? If not, I shared details on his medical condition above with Mark. I figured you would want to know - to be in prayer for him and his family.

  9. Michael Hogan & his real life family: His Wife; Susan & their Son: Gabriel are part of Hallmark Family

    1. Yes, Gabriel Hogan is also a well known actor on Hallmark - from "Murder She Baked" to the "Christmas List" and lots more.

I know many are praying for Michael and his family.

  10. I love this line from the upcoming Christmas movie on Hallmark called "Christmas in Vienna". This describes Christmas so well..."Christmas is about love. Christmas like music, like love, allows us to live in a Magical world of our Creation that exists beyond our own. Let us try to live there more often." And of course God is love and God is Christmas.

    1. Jim, That is so beautiful! I also love when they play that line in the promo... as the music crescendos in the background!

How I wish we could all "live there more often".

  11. Christmas Secret & Christmas Note are both same city of Wilsonville in Hallmark Christmas movies

If they will make 3rd Christmas Hallmark movies in Wilsonville - same Betty at the Bakery, Marshall, Judy, Jason, Christine & her kids, Grethen & Kyle, with their Son, & Melissa

    1. Oh, I think many would love it if they could do a third movie in Wilsonville - someday! :)

  13. HOLLY & IVY honestly seems tearjerker (modern) Hallmark movie. Who wants to bet that Marisol Nichols makes a miracle recovery right after Janel Parrish & Jeremy Jordan fall in love?
