Starring Elizabeth Henstridge and Ryan Paevey

Storyline via Hallmark: With Christmas approaching in New York City, Jessica, an archival historian enmeshed in a declining romantic relationship, is hired to create an exhibition honoring the history of Christmas at The Plaza Hotel. There, she meets Nick, a handsome decorator who’s been commissioned to deck out the iconic landmark. When they’re paired together to prepare the exhibition, they wind up enjoying a host of holiday traditions together and find themselves falling for each other. Tensions soon rise as Jessica must figure out her romantic priorities and decide with whom she’ll ultimately spend Christmas at The Plaza.

Starring Tricia Helfer and Eric Mabius

Storyline via Hallmark: As mayors of neighboring New Hampshire towns, longtime rivals Liam and Sarah are determined to best each other on their way to leading their hamlets to victory in the annual statewide “Christmas Spirit Competition.” When both towns unexpectedly advance to the contest’s final round, the mayors decide their best hope lies in working with, rather than against, each other. As they collaborate on a celebration showing what Christmas means to their communities, they discover their own holiday miracle: love.

Starring Merritt Patterson and Jon Cor

Storyline via Hallmark: A photographer whose career is on the fast track yet whose personal life lacks the fulfillment she seeks, finds romance with an unlikely candidate while visiting her grandmother in Bainbridge Island, Washington over the Christmas holiday season.

Starring Erin Krakow and Luke MacFarlane

Storyline via Hallmark: The film centers on Christmas enthusiast party planners Ella and her sister, Marianne, who clash with their client, Edward, who is a not-so-jolly toy company CEO.

Starring Kristin Chenoweth and Scott Wolf

It's great to see these new Christmas DVD releases from 2019; I'm hopeful we'll see many more!

I would tell you my favorite picks, but I love them ALL!

However, ...if I had to give the edge to just ONE, it would definitely be "A Christmas Love Story!" I am such a lover of music and singing, especially at Christmastime, so this movie has everything I love best! ♪ Plus, Kristin Chenoweth and Scott Wolf are too cute together!

Do you have an absolute favorite?

  1. Net, I understand that Hallmark is moving some movies to the left of what many of us Christians believe
and I do not want to DVR them or watch them. Could you please let us know which upcoming movies are going with the LBGQ, etc. We appreciate your input and your love for our Lord Jesus. Thank you for this blog.

    1. Sandy B, I completely understand. I will do my very best to let you know whatever I hear throughout the Christmas season. This subject is deeply concerning to me, as well. I know some people say "it's just a movie." No, it's not that simple. It's much more.

It's a blessing to know so many others who feel like my family and I do. Thank you so much for sharing!

      Blessings to you! :)

  2. I love the theme of A Christmas Love Story - that was pretty touching! It really sets it apart. Also, God blessed our family with adoption, so it holds a special place in my heart. Also, I really like Meritt Patterson, so Picture a Perfect Christmas would be my second choice.

    1. Lisa, So glad you enjoyed "A Christmas Love Story," too! I love how this movie about adoption touches so many hearts! That is so wonderful that you adopted a child into your family.

Have you also seen "A Joyous Christmas?" There's a story of adoption in that movie, too, that is quite beautiful.

By the way, "Picture a Perfect Christmas" is a very close second choice pick for me too!

Blessings to you & your family!

    2. I didn’t know about “A Joyous Christmas”! Thank you so much. My daughter and I love to watch Hallmark movies together and if there is a positive adoption aspect to it, we won’t want to miss it! You are so kind to mention this!

    3. Lisa, when A Joyous Christmas was on HMM, I didn't have that channel, so when I saw the DVD on Amazon, I purchased it. So thankful I did! Michael Rady sings in this movie and his voice is amazing. I didn't have Net back then to tell me about the movie, but it is one of the best!

    1. kitkat, Oh my goodness, you're welcome... I love "Picture A Perfect Christmas" too! There's just something about the warmth and charm of this movie, it just feels natural and easy-going. Plus, Troy is the cutest! I love when he gets his dessert all over his face and then bursts out laughing! That is the best!

Glad one movie was released on your wish list! I would also love to see both "Time For You To Come Home For Christmas" and "Two Turtle Doves!" Hopefully soon!

  6. Happy to see Hallmark release some new dvds. Though the only one I liked was Picture a Perfect Christmas. Hopefully the others are ones people will like. Still hoping for Return to Christmas Creek and Hearts of Christmas to come out on dvd. Thanks Net for all the info and the faith you share. Sad to see some of the things on Hallmark and Uptv. God bless you Net and everyone who views this site. RG
