Many of you have been dear friends and followers here at “It’s a Wonderful Movie” for many years, and I am grateful for your continued support and friendship. As we get closer and closer to THIS Christmas Season, I wanted to inform you all - the Christmas Schedule I post annually is going to be a little different (*gulp*) this year. For the past 10 years… YES, TEN YEARS… (can you believe it?) I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing when ALL of our favorite family-friendly Christmas movies will be airing on TV.
However, with the explosion of NEW Christmas movies (around 100!) and constantly changing schedules from the Networks (like with Fall Harvest, Christmas, etc...), I have decided this year the schedule will consist mainly of the NEW Christmas Movies and Specials on the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Hallmark Drama, BYU, INSP, ION, Lifetime, Local Stations, UPtv and more!
Plus, I will be sharing many of the classic Christmas movies and cartoons we all love - from It's a Wonderful Life to A Charlie Brown Christmas! I could never do a Christmas schedule without George Bailey and Charlie Brown... or even the Grinch! With all of this, there will still be lots of Christmas movies and more to see in the schedule!
As I have in the past, I’ll be updating the Christmas TV Schedule all throughout the Holiday Season, so please be sure to check in for all sorts of additions or any potential changes! (haha - we know they're coming!)
Also, with this amount of NEW Christmas films, I will not be able to pre-screen them all before sharing them with you. If there is any content that is not family-friendly, I will be sure to let you know as soon as I do, and if you see anything of concern, please be sure to leave a comment, or you can e-mail me and I will inform the followers here. I am always grateful for your informative feedback, reviews, and responses! Thank you all!
So, now let's take a look at what we know is airing this Christmas, so far...
so grateful you always have the latest updates!
ReplyDeleteThank you, dstoutholcomb! I'm grateful that you enjoy visiting here! It's going to be an incredible year of New Christmas movies! I'm glad we can all look forward to them together! :)
Deletedid you hear that The Christmas Wish is now Holiday Hearts? Both Paul Campbell and Ashley Williams said it on Instagram yesterday.
DeletePerhaps, it was too close in title to Lifetime's A Christmas Wish?
denise
Thank you, Denise, for sharing that scoop! HMM hasn't updated their site, yet, but I, too, think it's a good idea, especially since the previous title is so close to other movie titles, although there's probably some other title similar to Holiday Hearts, too!
DeleteBy the way, was this mentioned in an InstaStory?
Yes, it was in Paul's instastory and separately in Ashley's instastory. Clearly stated the name was changed. Unfortunately, neither saved in highlights. And, Ashley's had been a conversation with Danica, and she didn't save hers, either.
DeleteBoth had been careful to not say much about the name of the movie on regular posts in comparison to other actors in other productions.
You're right, it hasn't been changed on HM&M yet. I keep checking. And, of course, there are other title close to the alleged new name, but they seem to be older when checking on IMDb. But, IMDb also doesn't have Paul's name listed yet, and it has the incorrect air date.
Denise, Thanks so much for this update! I decided to go ahead and change the title on my site. This is one I'm truly looking forward to seeing this year! Love Paul and Ashley! Individually, they are so fun, so I can only imagine how great this movie will be! Btw - I had the opportunity to interview Ashley awhile back and she was so sweet! :)
DeleteHow wonderful! I do enjoy both of them, too.
DeleteI was lucky to get one of the Cameo messages from Paul--an early birthday wish. He's so funny.
denise
Awe... How sweet, Denise! What a perfect birthday treat!!! :)
Deletebookmarked!!, I love your web site!
ReplyDeleteAwe... Thank you so much! :)
DeleteChristmas Duet.’ Hallmark Channel has released a behind the scenes first look and the recording session for the song ‘Wouldn’t Be Christmas.’
ReplyDeleteHallmark Channel previously announced that ‘Christmas Duet’ would be added into the network’s Countdown to Christmas holiday programming. Hallmark Christmas movie fans should look for ‘Christmas Duet’ to make its world premiere Monday, November 25, 2019.
This is Rome’s first Hallmark Channel movie.
Christmas Duet’ tells the tale of beloved music duo Averie Davis (Chaley Rose) and Jesse Collins (Rome Flynn), famous for their duet “Wouldn’t Be Christmas.”
The former music collaborators haven’t performed together since they went their separate ways years ago. Averie gave up music and opened a beautiful lodge in a snowy Vermont town. Jesse is still touring, struggling to find the same kind of success he and Averie had as a duo.
Jesse arrives in town and bumps into Averie for the first time at the Blue Spruce Inn. Jesse tells Averie that “Wouldn’t Be Christmas” is still the most requested song at all his concerts. Averie lets Jesse know she avoids the song as much as she can. The magic of Christmas could give Averie and Jessie the nudge they need professional and personal, reunion.
A travel magazine writer(Terri Rothery) who visits Blue Spruce Inn to consider it for “Top Winter Lodge.” Winning the distinction will earn Averie a much-needed cash prize
Thank you Net! I have wasted so much ink printing out Hallmark's schedule over the years only for it to change in a week, or even a day. I will be using your site all season!
ReplyDeleteHello Beth! Thank you so much for your sweet, thoughtful comment. With all the New Movies and Classics we all love - the Christmas Schedule is going to be very full again this year!
DeleteI know what you mean about printing schedules, I've printed out many schedules, too, from Hallmark - that changed in a day or two.
Thank you for sharing and visiting here!
Thank you for adding the scripture, Net. We should never take the moon, stars, etc for granted. God's designs are unmistakably miraculous.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that! Our creator is beyond Amazing!
DeleteThank you for sharing that... God bless you!
Wise decision Net, since Hallmark keeps changing things daily...it seems. Just look at Fall Harvest this year...it was all over the place! Very disappointing! Take away 2 movies for what? I know I can rely on you every year and this year will be no different!
ReplyDeleteAwwwe... Your support means so much to me! Thank you!
DeleteYear after year, it is my joy to bring you all Christmas movie news and, of course, the Christmas Movie Schedule!
I do my best to share and update any changes along the way. Thank you so much for being such a faithful follower here. Bless you! :)
Dear Net ~
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all the work you do! I truly appreciate your information and look forward to watching Christmas movies all year! Actually, I watch them all year, lol. I've only known about your site for a year, but it's my must see for wholesome movie reviews. Thank you! Blessings, Donna
Thank you, Donna! I'm so glad you found my site this last year. It is so wonderful to have you here with all of us who love Christmas movies - just like you!
DeleteI'm so appreciative of all of your kind words.
Bless you! Net
Thank you Net for this wonderful website. The information you share is amazing. Wanted you to know that as soon as I saw it on your site I ordered Time for me to come home for Christmas. I've ordered six, received two, and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the rest. Still hoping for Return to Christmas Creek, Mingle all the way, Pearl in Paradise, Twelfth day of Christmas, Matchmaker Santa, Window Wonderland, Thanksgiving House, Hearts of Christmas, Love in Paradise, and many more. Thanks Hallmark. And thank you Net for all your hard work and the scriptures you share. God bless. RG
ReplyDeleteHello RG! Bless you!!! Your thoughtful comment has touched my heart in ways you'll never know. I so appreciate your warm and friendly feedback & support!
DeleteIt sounds like you have a wonderful Hallmark DVD collection! And, I hope we see more released - hopefully some from your Wish List!
Thank you, again, for the lovely response!
God bless you! Net
Will there be more Matchmaker Mysteries?
ReplyDeleteThat is the plan. Next year we should see a few more.
That's right! That's the plan - right now! :)
DeleteIt looks like Lifetime wants to really start the Christmas festivities early. In addition to the Monday night movies they have recently been broadcasting, they are showing 1 movie on Sunday night, the 20th, and from what I can see so far, it looks like they may have movies every night that week. Do we know if the Lifetime Movies Channel is getting into the Christmas act too? Any news regarding ION Christmas movies? I am surprised they haven’t yet released information on at least their premieres. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this Christmas movie news! I have updated the Christmas TV schedule to include these Lifetime movies and more! The more the merrier! :)
DeleteHi! I am the one who wrote Thursday’s comments. Sometime between Friday night and early Saturday, Lifetime added many more Christmas movies to their schedule. Beginning on the 14th, the first movie starts at 11 AM-3 AM central daily during the work week. Then, there is that 1 movie on Sunday, the 20th. The 21st-24th has that same 11 AM-3 AM schedule. The real festivities begin on the 25th at 7 AM central.
ReplyDeleteA couple other questions/comments: That new UP Jane Austen Christmas movie. I know it’s unbelievable, but I have never read the book. I know no one has seen the movie yet but am wondering if the book has a Christmas setting or premise.
Finally, have you heard that Oprah’s network will be premiering a couple of their own Christmas movies? I know we don’t know how family-friendly they will be, but I am an Oprah fan, so I would like to believe that they will be :). They do have some familiar actors/actresses who have been in other Christmas/Hallmark movies.
Thank you for everything that you do.
Hello, Oh yes, I was also pleasantly surprised to see Lifetime add even more Christmas movies to their schedule - leading up to the official October 25th Christmas Movie Season launch! I have added those additional movies to the schedule.
DeleteAlso, I received a press release with the new movies coming to OWN. I, too, wonder if the will be family-friendly. It seems most networks are leaning that way and following Hallmark's example.
I have read Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It was a few years ago, and I'm not recalling any major Christmas theme; however, this new movie premiering on UPtv is not a Christmas movie. "Becoming Ms. Bennet: Pride & Prejudice" is an original film premiering on their network, October 19th - just before their launch of Christmas on October 27th!
Do we have any idea about new Christmas movies on ion?
ReplyDeleteHello Elisha! Yes, I spoke recently to my contact at ION and their press release is still coming. They are working out the final scheduling details, but I do know there will be new movies (around the same number as last year) and classic ION movies from previous years.
DeleteAs soon as I receive official word - I'll be able to share more details here with all of you!
Net, I fully support your lightening your load. It is amazing all the things you already do. I am just happy I have you as a trusted and positive source of information about one of my all-time favorite things: Christmas movies. Thank you for all you do. I know it must be very time-consuming, but you pull it off with much grace. Peace.
ReplyDeleteHello Mark! Thank you so much for your continued support and thoughtful comment! I'm so glad you look forward to seeing the Christmas schedule + news on Christmas movies here each year.
DeleteYou are so right... it can be rather time-consuming, with so many new movies and behind-the-scenes research, etc... to keep up with, but I enjoy sharing the JOY of Christmas with everyone!
We are truly blessed by all the wonderful choices and Christmas content coming our way this season. I'm hoping there will be more shows that express the true meaning of Christmas this year. If not, thank goodness we'll always have Charlie Brown and Linus - to remind us all to take a step back from all the commercialism of Christmas!
God's Blessings to you!
It was so disheartening to see 2 gay men getting to know each other at the end of the wonderful movie, "Matching Hearts." One of the men was a featured player throughout the movie. I am not sure about what to do in the future about Hallmark if they keep showing homosexual relationships in their movies.
ReplyDeleteI had recorded Matching Hearts on my dvr to watch, but now I will just delete it because of the homosexual relationship.
