    Net --

After I analyzed all of the info and details in the EW article from yesterday afternoon and assessed it, and reworked it into a list format that was easy to digest, this is what I came up with...

If we were to take all of the movie titles listed in the Hallmark and Futon Critic press releases from late July (post-TCA event), and add them to a list along with the new titles mentioned in the EW article, AND the titles that were knew were going to end up on HMM, we'd have a total of 28 movies.

(Forget "The Bridge, Part 2" for now -- that debuted in March and has been shown many times since then. I don't count it as a new Christmas movie now. And let's put aside "A Perfect Christmas" for the time being too, even though it is technically still considered "new.")

So, 28 movies in total -- including all of the "announced" (back in July) titles in the Countdown and in the Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas, along with the surprise titles in the EW article from yesterday.

Michelle Vicary said a few months back, at the Variety TV Summit, that there would be 26 new Christmas movies between the 2 Hallmark channels this year, and she was not counting the July movie OR "The Bridge, Part 2."

With yesterday's EW article, the "28" total is only 2 titles above where we were supposed to be.

Hallmark is now promoting "19 new movies" on the main channel, and the 7 on HMM would add up to 26 -- just as Michelle Vicary indicated there would be.

So, really, the numbers are exactly where Michelle said they would be in terms of the total number of new movies between the 2 channels this holiday season. But what about those other 2 titles that make the difference between 26 and 28?

The main questions are, which movies (that we previously knew/read about) are now going to be bumped out of the Countdown?

I think that the Hall of Fame movie is totally safe, but the titles in jeopardy/at risk seem to be:

    Joy to the World
    A Prince for Christmas
    Curveball Christmas
    A Worthwhile Life
    A Christmas Broadcast

(I am not counting things like "A Snow Capped Christmas" or "Sleigh Bell Sweethearts," as those titles were never actually announced by Hallmark as going into this year's line-ups-- they were only mentioned by OTHER people/sources, but not put in official press releases.)

There could always be some other new surprise titles that Hallmark springs on us out of nowhere, BUT just dealing with the titles we have at hand, I think that "A Worthwhile Life" is safe, as it was set to go into production soon.

In addition to "A Worthwhile Life," I tend to think that "Joy to the World" is probably safe -- I can see Hallmark wanting to debut a new Brooke Shields movie during Thanksgiving Week. My guess is that she will film it in October.

"A Christmas Broadcast" was a pretty recent addition to the Countdown in late July, so I don't think it would be booted so quickly since it was just added in not long ago... but who knows?

So I guess I wonder if the 2 titles at the highest risk of being dropped or delayed until 2017 are "Curveball Christmas" and "A Prince for Christmas." Those titles have been floating around for a while, though, so Hallmark has had plenty of time to prepare them.

"A Family for Christmas" was one of the titles originally slated for the Countdown this year, and it has been delayed until 2017. So, perhaps "Curveball Christmas" and "A Prince for Christmas" went with it?

There is also always a chance -- maybe not a big chance, but a chance -- that the "19 new movies" on the main channel could suddenly jump to 20 or 21. I would not be shocked if that happened if something is ready to go.

Otherwise, at least 2 of the titles we came to know -- if not more -- are being dropped!
