via Disney: "Inspired by a real life little girl, Kate & Mim-Mim follows the fantastical adventures of five year old Kate, who, together with her toy rabbit Mim-Mim, travels to the fantasy world of Mimiloo where Mim-Mim comes alive as a larger-than-life playmate. In each episode, Kate and Mim-Mim and their group of loveable friends discover exciting new places and set off on adventures, all in the hope of solving a puzzling problem Kate has encountered in the real world."

 

Storyline via Disney: "In this special Easter event, it’s Easter morning and Kate wakes up super early.  She and Mim-Mim twirl away to Mimiloo while they wait to search for chocolate.  Upon arrival, however, they discover that Boomer, the youngest of the Mimiloo gang, along with his mini-dinosaur buddies, the Tee-Hee Rexes, have already collected all the Easter eggs, leaving none for everyone else! It’s up to Kate, Mim-Mim and the rest of their Mimiloo friends to hop to it and help the Easter Bunny save Easter before the rest of Mimiloo wakes up!"

 

How the cartoon began, via Disney: "Kate & Mim-Mim , now in its second season on Disney Junior, was developed by the husband and wife creative team of Scott & Julie Stewart who based the character of Kate on their real life daughter.  In another added bonus, the real Kate, now eight years old, voices the character of the Easter Bunny on ‘Mim-Mim’s Eggscellent Easter’."

 

My Review: I was given the opportunity to screen the Easter special of this cartoon. Simply put, it is a very sweet Easter Bunny tale that is whimsical and delightful - sure to spark that fantasy world of imagination in all children!

Disney replaces SoapNet with Disney Junior

It's about a year or so away... however, Disney, who owns SoapNet, the network that is currently airing Soap Opera daily re-runs, will replace it with Disney Jr. - a new commercial-free channel aimed specifically for Pre-Schoolers, ages 2-7. ( I wonder where they thought up that clever name? Perhaps, Nick Jr. gave them the idea! ) Whatever the case, I am glad to see the network is changing and will provide wholesome educational programs in the future for young children.

According to the press release, Programming on Disney Junior will include about 200 new episodes annually of current Disney Channel shows, including “Handy Manny,” “Special Agent Oso,” “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “Imagination Movers,” “Jungle Junction,” and new series like “Jake and the Never Land Pirates,” an animated program about children who pretend to be pirates and encounter Captain Hook. In the works are other shows that play off classic Disney characters.

Disney’s vast array of classic and contemporary movies, including among others “101 Dalmatians,” “Aladdin” and “Little Mermaid,” will be showcased.


This network is currently available in 75 million homes.
