Merry Christmas, Dear Friends!✨🎄
What a joy it has been once again to share the beauty, hope, and wonder of this holy Christmas season with all of you, my dear It’s a Wonderful Movie family!
I’m so grateful for each of you and for the friendships that have grown here, along with the many movie moments we’ve shared... from favorite rom-coms throughout the year... to inspiring new Christmas movies!
As Christmas Day draws near, may our hearts continue to make room for Jesus, and may our homes reflect His love, peace, and light!
There will certainly be no shortage of beloved Christmas movie classics airing this week, but I thought I’d share some of the very best true classic favorites below- those timeless films that never fail to fill our hearts with Christmas cheer, uplifting emotions of Christmases past, and cozy holiday joy!
I hope you enjoy my Christmas card to you...
If you've had your TV tuned to Freeform anytime this Christmas season, you've likely seen Home Alone airing nearly on repeat, but have you seen these viral video clips (below) exploring the possibility of Home Alone being a Christian movie?
Once you see these two clips, I promise you... You will see Home Alone in a brand new light - in a truly meaningful, inspirational way! I was so taken by this... I just had to share!

Isn’t that incredible? I’ve always loved the church scene with Kevin and his neighbor, Mr. Marley, but after hearing the way Pastor Josh Howerton described it, it now feels even deeper... more meaningful and faith-filled!

Of course, it wouldn't feel like Christmas Eve without the annual airing of It's a Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed, and Lionel Barrymore, on NBC.
My favorite lines from the movie include:
"What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word, and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down." - George Bailey
"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?" - Clarence
"A toast to my big brother George: the richest man in town." - Harry Bailey
"Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings." - Zuzu Bailey

Thank you for welcoming It’s a Wonderful Movie into your home this year, and I hope you’ll visit again in 2026! May you be wrapped in the true joy of Christmas, remembering that the greatest gift of all was born in a manger!
"So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."

Merry Christmas, Net! We LOVE Pastor Josh Howerton at our house. I want to remind everyone to go to gettymusic.com to watch the Getty's brand new live concert "Home for Christmas" filmed in London. If you are a Christmas music fan who loves Irish music, dance, carols and joy, you won't be disappointed. Their fiddle, harp and piccolo players are like nothing you have ever heard. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for that reminder about the Getty’s!
DeleteI love the Getty’s Anonymous!! I especially adore Christ Our Hope in Life and Death and Yet Not I But Christ in Me. Yes, the musical instruments are so beautiful but what I love the most is the lyrics draw me to Christ every time. And I pray the word to Him as I sing. And it’s a bonus treat that my church sings some of their tunes.
DeleteI pray everyone here has a very beautiful Christmas as we celebrate our wonderful and merciful Savior Jesus Christ!!
Net- Merry Christmas to you and all the terrific people that give such great comments or information on movies. The year may bring ups and downs, but Itsawonderfulmovie blog makes everything better. I get a happy feeling every time I see an email from the “wonderful blog” in my email box.
ReplyDeleteAll of you are a blessing the year through because you carry the special message of Christmas.
Thank you.
Have a blessed Christmas.
-Gabe’s Mom
And a very merry Christmas to you too, Net! -Maria
ReplyDeleteHi Net!
ReplyDeleteOh what a joyous post you shared with us today my dear friend! :-) Thank you for the heartfelt words and for the Christmas card and for all of the fantastic holiday movies reminders of what is airing over this blessed and holy week. I, for one, will be watching "It's a Wonderful Life", "A Bishop's Wife", "White Christmas" and "A Christmas Story" which is my son's favorite movie. :-) He is an adult now but we always watch it on Christmas morning as a family as we share Christmas breakfast together. This Christmas will be extra special because my daughter came home for Christmas this year. She lives in Colorado and hasn't been able to come home for quite awhile for financial reasons. It is a long story, for another time, but we are hoping being home in KY will push her to move back to KY permanently. She has endured a lot of hard times, over the last few years, so we are very happy to have her home if it is only for a week.
Anyway, Net, I truly hope you have a blessed Christmas season surrounded by God and friends and family. You are a blessing to all of us and a beacon of light. :-)
And, I want to wish all of my friends here, a blessed Christmas as well. I hope you all are surrounded by family and friends too. I can't believe 2026 is just around the corner.
Hugs and love to all!
Joan, you shared the heartfelt sentiments of so many of us who follow It’s A Wonderful Movie, and all Net has to share with us. Truly a delight! So I second all you said.
DeleteAlso, very happy for your family that daughter is coming for a week. As a Mother of adult children, and one’s with stories, and many prayers, I hear you. Praying for your family. Please pray for mine. - Becky
GAF and Hallmark announced 2 very promising new Christmas movies for next year: An Ozark Mountain Christmas and the sequel to A Biltmore Christmas. -Maria
ReplyDeleteI have so many words that I want to say to Net and to everyone here at this WONDERFUL place, right before Christmas, but I won't be able to do it justice with words (if only I could write like Net) of how I really feel so I will just say MERRY CHRISTMAS and much love to the IAWM family.
ReplyDeleteHi Net, I literally just heard this about Home Alone on KLove the other day and I was blown away! It’s one of the classics we watch every holiday season, 1 &2 and now sometimes 6 since it has some cameos. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDelete~Paula
Net, what a beautiful message and card! A most blessed Christmas to you and your family, and to all of the wonderful IAWM family members here! Jesus is truly the reason for the season!

Merry Christmas to you Net and everyone here. What a beautiful post! I really enjoyed the video clips you shared about Home Alone & It’s a Wonderful Life. powerful!
ReplyDeleteI usually watch these classics during the Christmas season, but I feel like ive missed a lot of them except Home Alone, so far this year. Thanks so much for these air times. I’m going to try to catch more this week before they’re gone. Christie
Merry Christmas! I like checking out all the movies here, but I especially love the way you share the love of Jesus! Keep doing that, please. The world needs more of His hope.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been feeling a bit reflective lately, but watching that clip from It’s a Wonderful Life really lifted my spirits and helped put things into perspective. It’s a powerful reminder that even when we don’t always see it, our lives and everyday actions do matter and can touch others in meaningful ways.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy visiting this blog for movie news, even though I don’t comment very often, and I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this. It meant a lot to me.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and all the best. Robert
Hi Net! What a beautiful message to us and the card is lovely! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well as all you visit here! Keep telling about Jesus! That's what this world needs now more than ever! Love to all!!
ReplyDeleteI watched The Christmas Card (2006) was on UPTV on last Monday, December 22, 2025 at 9pm-11pm ET/6pm-8pm PT
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to Net and everyone at IAWM with special thanks to Net for all the time consuming and wonderful work she puts into keeping us up to date with everything in the Rom.Com world.
ReplyDeleteAs usual we have 2 movies kept aside for Christmas evening - Single on the 25th and Christmas At The Inn.
Jill Wagner is far and away my favourite actress in the GAF stable and we all like Trevor Donovan too.
This will probably be the last Christmas as we know it - my eldest daughter got married earlier this year and suggested having everyone this year but they're still getting sorted out so we decided on the statue quo this year - probably all change in the future.
Church Service at 2330hrs tonight and I fell for organising the refreshments afterwards - we usually get around 20 people or so.
A Peaceful holiday to everyone - Florence
Wow, cannot believe it is Christmas Eve already! Merry Christmas IAWM family! I pray all of you have a blessed time with family and friends, and praying for those of you who are missing loved ones at this time. I so enjoy jumping on here and chatting with you all about Jesus and our love for movies. Thank you Net for providing this safe place for us all to hang out & enjoy each other’s company. You are a blessing to all of us. God Bless you all 💗

ReplyDeleteI’m a bit behind on these Christmas reviews:
Christmas everyday:I tried to watch and it lasted about 2 minutes. The main characters assistant acted gay, so I turned it off.
Christmas at the Inn: I noticed that a lot people didn’t like this movie but I enjoyed it. I thought there were funny moments though out. I liked how it was about helping Veterans and their families. I thought that was a special touch.
Christmas north of Nashville:I couldn’t get into this. I felt that they could have done so much more with this movie. Something was missing.
A timeless tidings of joy: I really enjoyed this movie. I like the trust in God message.
Grand ole opry christmas: I really enjoyed this movie.
An Alpine holiday: I thought this movie was interesting bc they get to travel to another country and climb a mountain. I like the sentiment of grandmother wanting them to trade the same journey. But it’s only a one time watch for me.
Also I have a prayer request. Please pray for my mother in law. Not sure if it was just the stomach bug or a something else. Please pray for her, thank you!
Elizbeth
Elizbeth, I will absolutely keep your mother-in-law in my prayers. The flu, or whatever it is, is definitely going around. I've had several family members come down with it, too. Thankfully, most everyone was well enough to be together for Christmas.
DeleteI truly hope she starts feeling better very soon.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your reviews. I really appreciate it. Take care and be well!
Merry Christmas. Thank you for the post about Home Alone.
