"A Biltmore Christmas" Sequel Coming in 2026 with Holland Roden and Niall Matter

Variety is reporting that an all-new sequel to "A Biltmore Christmas" is in the works - starring Holland Roden ("Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas," "Holiday Touchdown: A Bill's Love Story") and Niall Matter ("Aurora Teagarden Mysteries," "We Met in December").

Jonathan Frakes will reprise his role from the original 2023 Hallmark movie in the new sequel.

This is the storyline provided by Hallmark to Variety:
"As Biltmore House opens for the first time on Christmas Eve 1895, 13-year-old Elizabeth and her family are holiday guests. When she notices Michael, a fellow teen caught trespassing by the staff, Elizabeth comes to his rescue by claiming to know him, much to his relief. The two share an instant connection and set out to explore Biltmore but Michael inexplicably vanishes. Twenty years later, Elizabeth is spending Christmas at Biltmore and this time, is accompanied by James, a suitor her Aunt Maysilee is keen for her to wed. When a stranger asks Elizabeth to dance at the Christmas gala, she’s shocked to discover it’s Michael. Thrilled to reunite with her friend, she throws herself into his arms. But the world around her changes in an instant when Elizabeth is transported into the modern world with Michael, a tourist from the present day who had traveled to the past 20 years prior with the help of a magical hourglass in Biltmore’s library. Now, Elizabeth and Michael must find a way to send her back to her time, while not arousing the suspicion of Michael’s mother and sister during their family vacation. As Elizabeth experiences life and Christmas in the 21st century, she and Michael become close. When the time comes for her to return to 1915, Elizabeth must decide whether she’ll resume the life that’s been chosen for her or if her heart will lead her down a new path in the present."

According to the article, "production begins next month at the Biltmore Estate." It will also "showcase Biltmore’s Rooftop, Pergola, Swimming Pool, Bowling Alley, Breakfast Room, Oak Sitting Room, Main Kitchen, Music Room, Mrs. Vanderbilt’s Bedroom."

I'm thrilled to share this news with all of you! I love the original "A Biltmore Christmas" movie starring Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha, and I think Holland and Niall will make an excellent pairing in this sequel, which is also written by Marcy Holland.

  1. While the time changing movies can get a little confusing for me, I absolutely enjoyed A Biltmore Christmas so I’m excited for a sequel. I love Niall of course from Aurora Teagarden, but Holland is hit or miss for me…but I’ll definitely be giving this one a watch!

  3. Another Biltmore sounds amazing, but man is it going to be hard to compete with the original.

  4. To be honest I wish both Hallmark and GAF would stop worrying about next Christmas already and concentrate on what content they will give us during 2026.

Who knows what cable viewing figures will be by July but would it be too much to ask for just one new Christmas movie then?

I agree with Paula's sentiments on time travel movies - they always leave me feeling uneasy because the endings just don't make sense and I don't see how they ever could.

Having said that Biltmore is probably the best one of the genre to date and hopefully the sequel can emulate this.

Holland Roden was suoerb in Time For Him To Come Home For Christmas which is right up there as one of my favourite Christmas movies of all time and Niall Matter is always good so the omens are good - Florence

  5. Of course I'm very pleased to hear the news about making another movie at the Biltmore since I live in Carolina! It's great to see something featured from your state. But it's gonna be hard to be as good as the first one. Big shoes to fill. I think it would be great if Kris and Bethany did a cameo in this one. Maybe while Michael and Elizabeth are in the 21st century.
