UPtv Adds New Movie to May, 2025 Lineup

Good news for UPtv movie watchers...

There's another new movie being added to the May lineup that comes from the production company previously known as Reel One Entertainment. (ROE is now owned by StudioF1.)

This movie is dated 2023, but hopefully, this means we will continue to see new rom-coms and Christmas movies from this production company on UPtv in the future.

A Bestselling Kind of Love

Premiere Date: Sunday, May 25, 2025

Starring: Ashley Newbrough and Jason Diaz

Storyline: Nora is thrilled when her first novel shoots to the top of the bestsellers list but is terrified of speaking in front of crowds to promote her book, so Nora’s literary agent hires Daniel, a public speaking coach, to help Nora overcome her fears, which is easier said than done.

Movie Review:

Reel One's A Bestselling Kind of Love is clean and cute. (streaming on Xumo Play). -Maria

Streaming:

This movie is also available to stream for free through various platforms. If any of you have seen it, please feel free to share a review in comments below.

Note: UPtv is also airing The Librarian movie trilogy on Friday, May 23rd. These movies are all from the early 2000's.

Happy movie-watching!

  3. This has been available on a number of platforms for some time now - you can currently watch it FREE on Roku.

It looks to me that the takeover of ROE by Studio1America has resulted in the ending of their own made Rom.Coms - none have been added since January 2024.

If you search you can now generally find any ROE movie airing somewhere - the outstanding movies which hadn't been available in the US have been released to various sources over the last number of months any further ones

If UP does show more they will already have been aired elsewhere.

They're in an awkward position - there are so few new Rom.Coms being produced now - Nicely and Candlelight still do but the number has been cut back.

After a great bundle of Christmas movies from ROE in 2023 which unfortunately the stations didn't seem to take up and were taken by Xumo Free Play at the last minute the number was cut back in 2024 and imo they weren't that great.

The big question is whether Studio1 America is going to make any Christmas movies this year - the signs aren't looking good but fingers crossed - Florence

    1. Florence, I agree, it should be interesting to see what develops from Studio TF1 this Christmas and beyond.

Just knowing UPtv is still acquiring movies from this production company I felt was good news; however, it's possible UPtv acquired rights to this long before the buy-out.

And, then there's the question on what sort of content Studio TF1 will create. Most ROE movies were family-friendly in the rom-com / Christmas category, but who knows what direction they'll take now.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. :)

  5. Is it just me, or is Ashley Newbrough in every other movie these days? πŸ€”

I like her and all, but man, she must keep a busy filming schedule.

    1. I was going to say the same thing. Yes, she has been busy. 3 TV movie series of 4 episodes each, all debuted this year. And she's played the same character in two of the three series: "The Love Club" and "The Love Club Moms." That's 8 movies playing the same character. (Last year she was in another 4-movie series: "Unwrapping Christmas.")
All movies of all these series are listed individually on IMDb except for the latest, "The Love Club Moms," for which only the first of the four is listed, i.e., "The Love Club Moms: Tory." I've written to UPtv asking why that is, but no reply...yet.

    2. Allie, yes I totally thought the same! I used to enjoy watching her but now I feel like she’s being shoved in our faces, much like how I feel about Christopher Russell, sorry to any Christopher Russell fans! Lol

    3. Yikes, I didn’t mean for my comment to sound bad towards Ashley. I actually really like her. In fact, I like her latest Hallmark movies even more than her past stuff.

  6. Updating my previous reply:
Checking IMDb, I see that "The Love Club" and "The Love Club Moms" have been combined into 1 series with 2 seasons of 4 episodes each, and with different individual episode title from those shown on TV, e.g.
    S2.E1 . Moms: Tory's Storybook Romance
    S2.E2 - Moms: Jo's School Crush
    S2.E3 . Moms: Harper's Campaign Chemistry
    S2.E4 - Moms: Nila's Cafe Connection
where on TV, only the characters' names follow the season titles without the embellishments indicated by the possessives.
This combination must have occurred after "The Love Club Moms: Tory" became part of season 2 of "The Love Club," as "Moms: Tory's Storybook Romance."
