On this March 25th, we are only nine months away from Christmas Day! The elves may still be on break, but that doesn't mean we can't countdown to that special day!
If you are counting down until the beginning of the Christmas season, then we are now around seven months away, give or take a few days. Of course, as we devoted Christmas movie watchers know, the Christmas movies usually begin airing at the end of October!
If you plan to watch something Christmassy today or this week, please share in comments below.
Here's the schedule of Christmas airing this upcoming Friday night...

Still a good few 2124 Christmas movies to finish but with Steve Lund back in the limelight when Net mentioned Unlocking Christmas the other day I just had to see it again and spent ages searching through our tapes today and found it so we're watching it tonight.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the mystery is quite easy to solve Steve and Taylor Cole make a perfect couple and it's a really well acted and scripted movie with an interesting side plot that keeps you invested for the 90 minutes - Florence
Florence, you did your own "Journey Back to Christmas" jump to the future! I hope you make it back to 2025! (wink-wink)
DeleteI must have got caught in a time warp.
DeleteSanta Summit was a riot from start to finish - Florence
Mark you crack me up! 😂
Delete~Paula
Florence, That's such a great pick! That's interesting that you had your own scavenger hunt - just like the movie! :)
DeleteAlso, totally agree with how fantastic Steve Lund and Taylor Cole are together. And, as a fan of the series "Wind at My Back," it's great fun to see the actors who play Steve's parents together again. Now that you've mentioned this movie, I feel like watching it again, too!!!
Hope you enjoyed your re-watch! :)
Oh, Mark... leave it up to you!!! You're so funny!!!
DeleteI wonder, is "Journey Back to Christmas" the only time a Hallmark character leaps into the future... unless, we count Kristoffer Polaha's character in "A Biltmore Christmas?"
Well, there's "A Timeless Christmas" (another one of my favorites). I'll have to think about if there are any others.
DeleteHappy We're-a Quarter-of-the-Way-to-Christmas Day!! I am in the mood for a silly movie, so tonight I am going to go with one of my favorite's from 2023, The Santa Summit.
ReplyDeleteMark, That movie is absolutely amazing! I bet you couldn't help but smile the whole time you were watching it. The couples are so cute, and it's such a joy to see, even though all those close calls can drive me a little crazy! Even still, I love it, too!!! :)
DeleteJust thinking about it has me humming... "Must be Santa, Must be Santa... Must be Santa... Santa Claus!"
Net, yep, I was smiling throughout the entire movie! The only time I wasn't smiling was when I was laughing out loud!
DeleteI love how the mention of the movie got you humming "Must Be Santa"! Whenever I hear the Mitch Miller version (the famous version of the song), I sing along (if I'm by myself, that is)! Okay, everyone, if you know the tune, sing it out..."Reindeer sleigh, Come our way, Ho Ho Ho, Cherry nose, Cap on head, Suit that's red, Special night, Beard that's white...Must be Santa..." Doesn't that make you feel better! It does for me!
We’ll be watching A Reason for the Season in honor of Kevin McGarry and the When Calls the Heart finale. Christie
ReplyDeleteChristie, What a nice choice; I so enjoyed that heartwarming movie.
DeleteI'm missing the fact that we won't have a WCTH this weekend, too. That's a great way to still see Nathan, I mean Kevin McGarry! :)
I think to honor Mark the 25th, I will watch a bit of an oldie but goodie: On the Twelth day of Christmas-With Brooke Nevin and Robin Dunn. This one has always been one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteSarah, what a great choice! That is one of my all-time favorites as well! And last night I watched one of my other favorites with Robin Dunne, Sound of Christmas, with Lindy Booth.
DeleteIf anyone's looking for Christmas movie news:
ReplyDeleteMario Lopez is in Buffalo filming a new movie (working title is A Christmas Spark).
Candace is working on a new movie (details forthcoming)
And Christmas on Duty is filming, and looks to heavily feature USAA. -Maria
I hear Christmas on Duty is for HM.-Megan
DeleteI’m watching unwrapping Christmas: Lily’s Destiny❄️ today. It’s good so far. I just didn’t care for the horoscopes. It’s funny this weekend it’s suppose to be close to the 80s and finally get to celebrate Christmas with my extended family. A lot of my family members were sick and kept getting postponed. I’m super excited. Hope you all have a great weekend! Elizbeth
ReplyDeleteElizbeth...I LOVE that your family is having a Christmas party on March 25th. I love that kind of stuff. Different things. Fun things. Outside the box things. Especially when it has to do with Christmas.
DeleteMy mom and I put up a Christmas tree for Christmas in July and we celebrate it throughout the month. I love it! I'm a little goofy (well, maybe a lot) so I like being goofy ha-ha...doing things outside the box thinking stimulates me. I may even have a Christmas party for Christmas in July this year.
Elizbeth, I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas celebration this weekend!!! Sorry you were unable to have your gathering at Christmastime, but what joy you will all have this weekend and a special memory of celebrating Christmas when it's so warm outside. Too bad you don't live in NY, since they had snow this week - that would've made it feel like Christmas, for sure!
DeleteI enjoyed all of those 'Unwrapping Christmas' movies, too, minus that small part you mentioned in "Lily’s Destiny" when she briefly talks about believing in horoscopes. I think Lily also says something briefly about them in the first movie, too, but one of friends gives her a look like she doesn't believe and the issue is eventually dropped. I'm not recalling any mention of it in the last two movies, and those movies were family-friendly, too.
Have a wonderful Christmas Party!!!
Merry Christmas to You and all of your Family!!!
🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄
Jim, I love that you and your mom put up a Christmas tree for Christmas in July! It brings you both joy... so why not?
DeleteWith all of the Christmas movies usually playing throughout the month it's such a special time to do it.
By the way, I love doing things that may not be the norm, too. Like... I may or may not have a small Christmas tree that stays up year round!!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 :) :) :)
Net, in my basement, that same Christmas tree that we put out for Christmas in July, upstairs, I keep up in basement all year now other than for Christmas in July and during regular Christmas and I also have three of the colored wreaths to go along with the tree and when I go in basement to lift weights and walk on treadmill I light up the tree and the three wreaths and I have Charlie Brown Christmas music playing. As a matter of fact, I'm heading to basement right after I post this to lift weights and listen to CB Christmas and disappear into the wonder.
DeleteI couldn't sleep last night so I got up at 3am and watched one of the 2024 Christmas movies that I haven't seen yet (Holiday Crashers)...I love Lyndsy Fonseca! I still have a ton of the 2024 Christmas movies to watch and I love it. It makes it feel like Christmas never ended. Also, in my bedroom I have my colored garland and Charlie Brown Christmas tree and light up Santa and more that I keep there all year long. I LOVE to light up my colored light garland that is draped over my computer monitors and tv while I watch the Christmas movies. See, I told you...goofy is as goofy does. I don't care though. Being crazy helps keep me from going crazy.
Everyone that knows me here knows that I suffer from OCD (Obsessive Christmas Disorder).
DeleteHappy 25th!
ReplyDeleteSo the other day I was searching for a movie for our children on Disney Plus and I noticed they have some random movies under “Romantic Comedies” and they had a new movie from last year with Daniel Lissing and Jessica Lowndess named “Renovation Romance” The photo looks like it is a Christmas movie so I tried to search it tonight and can’t find it now….hmmm
ReplyDelete~Paula
Paula, Yes, “Renovation Romance” is a Christmas movie. I saw it on Hulu during Christmastime, and since Disney owns Hulu, I bet it is offered through Disney+, too.
DeleteOkay, I just did a quick Google search, and found it at this link:
https://tv.apple.com/us/movie/renovation-romance/umc.cmc.41l96b3f0ezn233732z3k7g7n, which says in fine print that it is available on Disney+ and Hulu.
Not sure why, but under the movie description on this page, it says the movie is PG-13. That leaves me curious, as I don't recall anything that would make it have a PG-13 rating. It was briefly insinuated that a couple who are getting engaged may have previously lived together, but other than that, it was pretty much your standard rom-com.
If you're interested, Sara S. and I both have reviews for "Renovation Romance" on the Christmas movie review page. It's way down the page under the streaming section.
Hope you can locate it again on Disney+.
I started watching "Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons" about 3am because I couldn't sleep. It was the first movie on GAF this past Christmas. My first time seeing it. Happy 25th!
ReplyDeleteJim, Hope you enjoyed it. That's a nice choice to mark the 25th! :)
DeleteWes Brown & Ginna Claire Mason-Newport Christmas (time travel) filmed in Buffalo for HM.
ReplyDeleteWe watched A Biltmore Christmas again. It is such a complex film, but they made it enjoyable and easy to watch. Kristoffer and Bethany should do something else together. Christie
ReplyDeleteIn addition to watching "Joy for Christmas" this week for the 25th, I also watched the first episode of "When Hope Calls Christmas" on Great American Pure Flix.
ReplyDeleteOh my... this series is so good! Just watching it, is getting me even more excited for the new season of "When Hope Calls"!!!
And I have great news... "When Hope Calls Christmas" Part 1 and Part 2 are both airing Friday night, April 4th!!! So, I hope many of you are able to watch before the new premiere of "When Hope Calls" on Sunday, April 6th!
