Movie Reviews:
👑 The Royal We is safe, and pretty cute. (though, that BFF is really annoying.). -Maria
👑 Forgot to include: There's a really neat surprise at the end of the movie! -Maria
👑 The Royal We Review: This was the best royal film I have seen in a long time, probably topping to #1. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it that much, but I did!! And I thought before, they were engaged in the beginning, but we do see them fall for each other before a wedding. There was a burst of chemistry with these two that really pulled you in and they were like friends, leaning towards something special and always kind to each other. How can you not fall in love with that prince! He’s so nice!! It was family friendly and for Parent Trap fans… this movie had Martin the Butler in it!! If I could describe it in one word…Charming!!
Just a couple scenes I would change. I was uncomfortable with Bea in her pajamas in the prince’s bedroom, also in his PJs, alone together. Nothing happened, they kept it innocent, no seductive feeling. But as a Christian, I would have liked it better if she didn’t enter and he came out dressed.
The same with the star gazing scene, she was fully dressed and he had his PJs and robe. I would have been totally fine with is. They were having a special moment and it was so sweet, but unfortunately we see the time turn into morning and they fell asleep snugly together. This was a big no no for me and I couldn’t help but think, if this was set back in time her reputation would be ruined and he would have to to the honorable thing and marry her. I wish our world hasn’t changed from that, but unfortunately we had.
Those were 2 very short scenes and the rest is so fantastic, I have to give it a great review. It is worth watching and they give you hints about the next 2 royal movies coming out. I believe they are all connected just like the Wedding Veil movies.
And I agree with Maria, the best friend really over played her role and was really cheesy. But she was nice. ~Abigail

I know. I know. There are mixed feelings about royal-themed movies these days, but there have been some good ones throughout the years (even ones that aren't Christmas-related, such as Royal Matchmaker and Royal Hearts), so perhaps one of these will rank up there. I do think the one with Andrew Walker sounds interesting, so let's hope it's a fun one!

The first two royals looks good to me.
ReplyDeleteIt’s been so long since I’ve seen the first Mystery Island. I kinda forgot what’s in it. I might have to do a rewatch first. But I like seeing hallmark continue a series, especially because lately it’s been rare.
Abigail, I was literally thinking the same thing, I’ll need to rewatch the first Mystery Island one! I am always so curious as to how they choose which mysteries to continue….I really enjoyed the hairdresser one with Julie Gonzalo (Cut Color Murder) and it was left on a major cliffhanger, that would have been a great one to continue but it was 1 and done. The one with Andrew Walker looks super cute!

Paula, yeah. It’s been so long since the first one, I don’t remember any of the characters.
DeleteAnd yes!!! I would absolutely love to see Julie continue. I remember that major cliffhanger that went to nowhere.
And poor character that Andrew plays. This one looks like it’ll be a comedy. Great!!
Its real unfortunate that Hallmark is not continuing with previous good mystery series that were really good. Like mystery 101 and color cut murder and Auroa Teagarden with the new charater. I thought they were really done well. Now we just have romantic movies most of them Im really not interested in and the plot you figure out in the first 2 minutes. As far as mystery Island not christian at all gossip and affairs. I wont watch it.
DeleteJoust want to add The Martha Vineyard Mysteries were so good and wonderful chemistry with the characters. Hallmark has removed top notch mysteries. They have not replaced with better.
DeleteLooking forward to the royal movies.
ReplyDeleteI would love to not see in the movies, when they are just about to kiss for first time and then-some, interrupted as usual. Enough already. Also towards the end of all movies, there is a break-up in communication and relationship. Once again, always a recovery. Enough already! Just saying,..
ReplyDeleteThe last Royal movie looks sweet but maybe cheesy too? I agree Net that Andrew’s looks the best, but don’t recognize the actress with him. Christie
ReplyDeleteArranged marriage in the first movie. I’m not liking that concept.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that they’ll fall in love and end the movie with a wedding.
DeleteNot excited about any of these
ReplyDeleteHere's a shock - barely started but there are rumors Hallmark may give up on Hallmark+! - Florence
ReplyDeleteI never thought that streaming service was a good idea anyways, and not just because of the subscription cost and being yet another streaming service when there's many many others out there.
DeleteYeah, the Love on the Danube and Unwrapping Christmas series were nice, but the rest of the exclusive content is well.... either really cringy reality shows or inappropriate. -Maria
Florence, where did you hear that? I tried searching it and couldn’t get any results.
DeleteSame here, Florence and Abigail. I too tried searching this and came up empty. I'm hoping it's not true - Hallmark+ has been my go-to recently for watching Christmas movies throughout the year (with their selection of almost 400 Christmas movies, plus others)!
DeleteThe Royal We--this one surprised me. It was sweet, cute, clean. At first I caught myself saying how unrealistic certain parts were, but honestly that's the nature of Royal-themed movies, and should be expected. With that in mind, I thought it was a fun one-time watch. ~LR
ReplyDeleteMaybe it’s just me but but the “ royal “ movies have been way over done.L do really like some of them, but it’s time to move on.
