🍁 Welcome Fall, Y'all, And New Movie Premieres 🍁 SEE HERE:

Happy Weekend, Everyone!

Even though we've had a lot of Christmas movie news lately, we are presently saying goodbye to Summer and officially welcoming in Autumn, as the new season arrives Sunday, September 22nd!

Our weather has felt more like Summer lately with temps in the 90's! Are you all still experiencing hot weather, too?

To make it feel more like Autumn, grab a pumpkin spice latte, a warm apple cider, or your favorite Fall drink and snacks, and enjoy the new movies!

Both Great American Family and the Hallmark Channel will premiere new movies this weekend. See details on those, and I highlight some of the best classic movies airing this weekend below.

Plus, I have some extra fun news for those of you who have Instagram! Keep on scrolling down for details!

Something fun...

For those of you on Instagram, be sure to follow (if you don't already) my movie friend, Brad Deiter, on his IG page: @positivelybrad.

Brad recently hosted trivia challenges and interviews for 90s con, which featured stars from Full House, 7th Heaven, Family Matters, Brotherly Love, and other television series, and now he has something special planned for the Christmas season!

Here's the scoop directly from Brad:

"Christmas came early this year!

I am so excited to announce that I will be helping to make your Christmas even more MERRY AND BRIGHT as I am joined by some of your (and my) favorite Christmas movie stars!

Join us here on Instagram live as we discuss their favorite holiday traditions, newest projects, play some trivia, and hear about their favorite charities!

❓Any guesses as to who might be joining me?❓

I will be announcing each guest over the new few weeks (and the dates of each live video). I will also open up the comment section for questions!"

Spoiler Alert!!! Brad gave me an exclusive spoiler that one of the interviews he will be doing is with Jen Lilley, so you'll definitely want to follow him on his IG page, @positivelybrad, to see that and see more surprises coming throughout the Christmas season!

Also, while you are on Instagram, be sure to say hello to me here: @itsawonderfulmovieblog. I just started IG at the end of April, so I'm still learning new things. If you have any special tips, please share!

🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁

I hope you all enjoy the new TV movies this weekend. My DVR is set for both movies, even though I've seen Love at the Ranch. I recall it being an enjoyable watch, so I'm looking forward to seeing it again on Great American Family. Please share your movie pick in comments below.

Falling Together is a movie that highlights Alzheimer's disease. World Alzheimer's Day is recognized every year on September 21st, which is this Saturday. Due to the movie's theme, for some, this movie may be uplifting, and for others, this movie may be difficult to watch. I know many of you who visit here have shared (in comments beneath this post) that you have seen someone in your family or a friend go through this. I have seen the same with someone in my family; it is extremely hard and challenging, but we had special, wonderful moments, too, and I would never exchange that time we shared for anything in this world.

Please Note: I haven't pre-screened the new movie, Falling Together. If you'd like to post a review on whether this film is family-friendly after it premieres, please share in comments.

As we transition from Summer to Autumn...
Have a Blessed Weekend, Everyone,

  2. I’m soooo ready for everything fall!! Cooler temperatures, it’s been in the 90’s for a long time now. Watching a chick flic that takes place in autumn sounds pretty good. Especially if I have a Starbucks pumpkin scone and a latte with me.

  8. Hey everyone! So I was about to start the new “Falling Together” and then my cable brought up all the other movies with Ashley Williams and before I knew it I was watching an older movie she did that I never watched, “Scents and Sensibility” so here I am watching that. This is how I am never able to clear out my DVR πŸ˜‚ once I finish this movie I will move on to “Falling Together” and stay cool everyone! It was 98 here in CA today, 102 tomorrow.

    1. Paula, Awww, “Scents and Sensibility” is such a sweet one, such an excellent modern take on the classic Jane Austen story! I love the comedy in it, especially with Ashley working at the health spa. It's been a little while since I've seen it, but those scenes are quite memorable and cute.

Stay cool out there on the west coast, if you can! :)

  9. Hello EveryoneπŸ€—

My job is all consuming, my client is getting closer to the end of his JourneyπŸ˜ͺπŸ™

I loved Ashley & Paul in their Christmas movie.
But Alzheimer's is something I know all to well.
My Mom & I went through Every Horrible stage, thankfully my Mom wasn't aware of most of it, she didn't even know Who I was, but would talk about me with Me- that was tough😭

I walked away from my Career job to take care of both my parents, 24/7 for almost 18 years.
So after my Mom passed, the World did not Welcome me back, so my beautiful Church family said- "Honey why not be a Caregiver and Get Paid For It" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Ashley & Linda's Characters had me in constant tears most of the movie, but in a Cathartic way❤️
So for me, it hit home.

    Its like the "Christmas Bow"
I love Michael RadyπŸ’ž but the lead females grandmother- in a flash back, little over an hour into the movie- with Music and the Incredible way it can Trigger a memory- I'm crying now just writing this down...
Those Moments are Priceless and Etched into my Memory(Hopefully Forever)

    God Bless You All πŸ™πŸ™
Wherever you live in the Country, Be careful & safe.

    1. Kathy, Thank you for sharing this heartfelt and personal review with us. That is so giving of you to take care of your parents the way you did and now caring for others.

As the Bible says, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

The way you spoke of your Mom not knowing who you were, brought to mind my own memories of my loved one. It was so hard to watch as they went through the confusion. I, too, remember it all too well. I think those sorts of memories, our deep compassion and heartbreak in difficult moments, remains with us for a lifetime.

The way you described "The Christmas Bow," too, was so lovely. What a beautiful, touching scene!

Thank you for taking the time, Kathy, to share this review with us. It means so much! God bless you, as well!

  10. Review: Falling Together -
    Family-friendly? - Yes! -
    Recommend? Unfortunately, No -

This is tough and I will probably be in the minority here! The movie has a wonderful message: so much can be done for others if people were less self-centered and instead reached out to others. But a wonderful message does not automatically make a movie a good one.

I have two major problems with this movie. First, Ashley's character, in trying to meet her new neighbors, comes across as an annoying, obnoxious busy-body. I would think somebody with her maturity would know that you need to get to know the people first before you try to help them, but she jumps right in. It is no wonder they are put off by her. (I too would be hesitant to become friends at first with somebody who is that overbearing!) And Paul's character is just so self-centered and grumpy at first, well, these two just totally turned me off from the beginning. While they do come around a bit by the end, for me, it was too late.

And second, so much of the story seemed unrealistic. I think more character development with the neighbors would have helped, but instead we get some of the neighbors either disliking one or more other persons or wanting to be left alone, then we get them liking the other(s) or wanting to be involved, then once again they are disliking the person(s) or wanting not to be involved, and by the end (somehow - it is never shown) everyone is getting along and deciding to help with the Walk to End Alzheimer's. I just can't buy it. And one more thing - a lot of the spoken lines, along with these plot lines, just seemed phony.

So like I said, the movie has a great message - it is just a shame that it wasn't handled in a better way.
