While it's mid-August now and Labor Day is in a few weeks, we all know Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas is right around the corner!!!
As we await details on all of the Christmas movies premiering this year, Hallmark released the key art/posters for three of their NEW 2023 Christmas movies!
Check out the images & storyline details...
Checkin' It Twice
Previous title: Christmas Goals
Cast: Kevin McGarry, Kim Matula
Storyline: A journeyman hockey player falls for a real estate agent in a career crisis when he's traded to her hometown and moves into the cottage in her hockey-loving family's backyard.
A Biltmore Christmas
Cast: Bethany Joy Lenz, Kristoffer Polaha, Jonathan Frakes
Storyline: Screenwriter Lucy Hardgrov lands the job of a lifetime when she is hired to remake the beloved holiday movie "His Merry Wife!" First filmed in 1947 at the beautiful Biltmore Estate, it has long been considered a Christmas classic.
A Heidelberg Holiday
Cast: Ginna Claire Mason, Frederic Brossier
Storyline: Heidi heads to the Heidelberg Christmas market to sell her hand-painted ornaments. While there, she falls for a local artisan who helps her reconnect with her lost heritage.
Three movies that I plan to watch.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. Only 1 here that even looks remotely interesting at 1st glance is A Biltmore Christmas. And of course, there's no telling right now if it'll be clean, so I have idea if I'll even end up watching it right now.

I will for sure be watching “Checkin It Twice” I loved Kim Matula in Ghost of Christmas Always so I am excited to see her in another movie. I will also be watching “A Biltmore Christmas” as I love movies like this that go back to the past or are set in another time. I love the wardrobe and just the way that they lived in simpler times.

I wrote “Checking it Twice,” so I you enjoy it. - Steve
DeleteI really liked Kim, too, Paula, and am happy to see her back again!

I will be tuning in for "A Biltmore Christmas", for sure!
ReplyDeleteI am really excited about A Biltmore Christmas! I think I've said this before, I only live about 2 hours from The Biltmore. If the readers here have never had a chance to visit there I hope you can some day! It's breath taking and awesome! Words can't really describe it! I hope the movie will be family friendly so I can watch this!! Plus the fact Kristoffer Polaha is in it! What more can I say!! I like Bethany too!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce, I visited the Biltmore some years ago and, yes, it is awesome! The house and grounds are just so elegant!! (I almost took a job in Asheville once, too!) I can't wait to revisit at some point (and I bet watching this movie will make me want me to visit even sooner!) Love the poster, too! (The other 2 posters...not so much.)
DeleteJoyce, I am going to be especially curious to get YOUR take on "A Biltmore Christmas" after it airs; I certainly hope this film gives the estate justice. I've never seen the mansion in person, but it sure looks beautiful from all the pictures I've seen on-line. I'm sure this movie will bring even more visitors and sightseers to your state!

I don't think that looks very much like Kristoffer Polaha on the cover of A Biltmore Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThere are really no clues to divine what A Heidelberg Holiday could be like but the lead actor looks nice!!! - Florence
I agree with Florence, the lead actor in "A Heidelberg Holiday" does look pretty cute! I was wondering if maybe he actually spoke German for this movie and, unfortunately, I made the mistake of researching him. He does speak multiple languages and plays various musical instruments, but it also turns out he was one of the stars in a tv series about four gay men.... hopefully I can get his homosexual make-out scene out of my head by the time this movie airs at Christmas! I really need to stop delving into these actors' previous projects. Merritt Patterson used to be one of my favorites until I watched her lesbian make-out scene - ugh!! - hard to erase images like that. I'll still watch most of their various Christmas movies because I understand that they're just actors doing whatever jobs that they can get and, after all, we've all fallen short. And most of these actors in our favorite Christmas movies never professed to be Christians or even squeaky clean wholesome (and these various actors are on both Hallmark and GAF!). My biggest problem comes with actors and actresses (some of my favorites!) who do actually profess to be Christians and then accept jobs where they have to say and do things that are clearly contrary to God's Word; I wish they would take a stand because they know better. (I think that's what makes Candace Cameron Bure so refreshing to me. Like everyone else, she may stumble, but I appreciate that she tries to walk true to her faith in God - and does so in the public eye!)

p.s - I am such a research geek! (I even research stupid things like which toilet paper is the best to use!! As Monk would say, "it's a gift, and a curse".) But in order to enjoy upcoming Christmas movies, I'm seriously going to try and never research any of these actors again!! π€£π€£
Oh, Jane... I know just what you mean. I've often taken that deep dive into social media, even looking at past postings, and seen things I wish I could unsee. I'm more careful now to stay within a certain circle of celebs, but every so often, there's still something. Social media has revealed more of who people are and sometimes, that isn't so great.
DeleteBlessings to you, my friend! Net :)
Notes of Autumn isn’t on the list of Hallmark Movies Checklist on 9/16/2023
DeleteOh Jane, I know how hurtful that can be. The same thing happened to me when I looked up Luke MacFarlane years ago. He was on of my top favorites and was always played a kind, handsome, and caring character. Now he's really involved into "yucky" characters.
DeletePraying for all of us not to be discouraged, we still have some good conservative and professing Christian actors and actresses. And that is something to praise God for. Praying for them to be strong in their faith, especially since they are public faces, and the world loves to pull them down.
Have a great weekend, from a fellow geek friend! ;)
I am really, really looking forward to this one! I love these kinds. And with Bethany and Kristoffer. Win win if it's family-friendly.
ReplyDeleteI really hope Biltmore is family- friendly!
ReplyDeleteNot to be a downer, but there's more info on Notes of Autumn out, and it definitely looks unclean from what I read. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Thank you for sharing, as always. I, too, just read this disappointing news and shared it in my September movie post. I knew these actors were working together, so I figured something like this was coming. At least with this movie we know ahead of time. ~Net
DeleteOh no! This is so disappointing as the premise sounded really good to me and I love Ashley Williams….it was reminding me a little of “The Holiday” with Cameron Diaz where she switches houses with someone for the holiday and both develop a romance…bummer that they had to include that same sex couple! I wonder if Hallmark will continue to make more of these movies to give their actors (like Luke and Jonathan Bennett and I forget the other guy I’m thinking of) roles that are similar to their own lifestyles?

ReplyDeleteI'm an extra in one of these, so I'm SOOO excited to watch!!
