During an interview with TVInsider - Alison Sweeney shared some wonderful news for all mystery fans! Her latest "Hannah Swensen Mystery" installment won't be the last!
"Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery" premieres this upcoming FRIDAY, May 19th, 2023, at 9pm/8c. on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and details on the next "Hannah Swensen Mystery" movie are already being revealed.
According to Alison's interview with TVInsider, these are the details given for the next "Hannah Swensen Mystery" after they solve the "Carrot Cake Murder"...
Learning this news is almost equivalent to being served dessert before the main course. I can't help but wonder if they are finally getting the clue that sleuthers are hesitant to start watching another mystery, since they've already canceled numerous fan-favorites. By promising mystery fans another episode in the "Hannah Swensen Mystery" wheel after this new one, that may be a good way to bring the viewers back - since ratings have taken a dip recently.
"Murder, She Baked" fans have been devoted since the first movie, "Murder, She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery" aired on May 2, 2015. The series began with a love triangle between Hannah (Alison Sweeney), Mike (Cameron Mathison), and Norman (Gabriel Hogan). As the series progressed, so did Hannah's relationship with Mike, and much to Hannah's mother's (Barbara Niven) chagrin, the two are still engaged in "Carrot Cake Murder," and according to Alison's recent interview, wedding plans are progressing very slowly.
Will fans keep watching the "Hannah Swensen Mysteries"? That is yet to be seen. "Murder, She Baked" has had a big following since 2015, and many fans have remained captivated by Hannah's story, even when the series transitioned to a new title with "Hannah Swensen Mystery." Viewers didn't really mind the new title or that they changed the town's name from Eden Lake to Lake Eden, but what really disappointed a lot of fans was that they added on another sister, Michelle (Tess Atkins), out of the blue, and removed her other sister, Andrea (Lisa Durupt), who was a fan-favorite. Hopefully, Michelle, the new sister, will end up being a good addition to the series, but I'm still missing Andrea, who moved away with her family. Since they are planning more "Hannah Swensen Mysteries," I would love to see her return for a visit, which of course, involves a delicious mystery and, hopefully, a wedding!

Not interested anymore. I'm through with these stupid mystery series that can very easily be dumped by the network with zero resolution. -Maria
ReplyDeleteIf Hanna wants to solve mysteries so much why not just be a detective instead of trying to be smarter than the professionals. Just my thoughts.
DeleteWill we see a Christmas Mystery movie from Hannah Swenson?
ReplyDeleteChris, I personally think that would be great if they did that, but they tend to keep their regular mysteries separate from the Christmas season.
DeleteUntil we know for sure - we can still hope together! :)
Blessings, Net
Not a must watch for me. After 5 years they should have been married. Also, they need to bring Andrea and her husband back. They were one of the best parts of the previous series.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that Cameron Mathison and Alison Sweeney's characters do make it down the aisle. I do not care for the character of Norman.
ReplyDeleteNot sure who wrote this last Hannah Swensen, but I don’t think they had in mind what the fans are wanting to see at all.
Deletesounds promising.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been reading the book series. There is a point in the series where the sister Michelle plays a bigger role than Andrea. So maybe they’re just following the books more closely?
ReplyDeleteI just googled the man she married in the books, his name is Ross.
DeleteGood thing they announced this or fans would have been even more outraged after that ending. I thought at first they were going to Mystery 101 us again until I remembered reading this here.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Andrea not in Hannah Swensen Mysteries?
ReplyDeleteAlso missing is Andrea, Hannah's other sister who is married to Mike's law enforcement colleague, Bill. Alison Sweeney has stated that the actress who plays Andrea in Murder She Baked simply was not available during production, but she also added that she would welcome the character's return
Interesting! Are they good and clean? I thought about reading them myself, I tried some Aurora Teagarden Books(very dirty), so I didn't attempt to try Murder She Baked. If I am reading something fiction, I try to keep it Christian, unless it's like Jane Austen.
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't Hannah dump Mike and marry norman?
