Hallmark Announces 🎄Christmas Movie🎄 for 2023 with Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha

In case you missed this announcement with all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, I wanted to be sure you heard the latest movie scoop... Bethany Joy Lenz (Five Star Christmas, The Christmas Secret) and Kristoffer Polaha (Mystery 101, A Dicken's of a Holiday) will be starring in an all-new Hallmark Christmas movie, “A Biltmore Christmas!”

The movie will begin filming at the beginning of the year ~ 2023. It will actually be filmed at the Biltmore Estate, which is a beautiful and grand national historic landmark in Asheville, North Carolina.

Hallmark shared this news via Variety along with the official movie description: "Lucy Collins (Lenz) is a screenwriter who lands the job of a lifetime when she’s hired to write the script for a remake of the beloved holiday movie “His Merry Bride!” First filmed in 1947 at beautiful Biltmore House, it has long been considered a Christmas classic. As Christmas approaches, Lucy travels to Biltmore Estate for research. She joins a guided tour of the grounds where she gets insights into the history of the location and the filming of “His Merry Bride!,” and once inside the house, she’s drawn to a beautiful hourglass. When Lucy accidentally knocks it over, she finds herself transported back in time to 1946 – the Golden Age of Hollywood – as cast and crew prepare to film “His Merry Bride!” at Biltmore. Lucy does her best to navigate an unfamiliar place as a woman out of time, charming some and raising suspicions of others. It’s not long before Lucy catches the eye of the film’s dashing lead Jack Huston (Polaha) and although she initially rebuffs his advances, their connection soon becomes undeniable. Lucy’s sudden appearance sets off a chain of events that put the production in jeopardy. Before she can return to the present, she must make things right or threaten to alter the future forever. Lucy has one chance to go home but must say goodbye to the man who might be her soulmate unless some Christmas magic can keep the curtain from closing on their love story."

My Take:

Not only do I look forward to seeing the gorgeous Biltmore Estate on screen, I think Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha should make an excellent on-screen pairing, since they both have such vibrant, cheerful personalities. Plus, I love the traveling back in time aspect of the story. Please share your thoughts in comments below.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Net

    1. Greetings Net and It’s A Wonderful Movie Readers,

      According to https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/hallmark-channel-announces-first-2023-190000699.html

This article is about the Biltmore Christmas for 2023, but I did find the following mention...

“The news comes on the heels of a huge year for Hallmark Channel and its “Countdown to Christmas” franchise. In 2022, the network ranked as the most-watched entertainment cable network during the holiday season among multiple demos. “Three Wise Men and a Baby,” which premiered in November, became the most-watched TV movie of the year. “

I hope this movie comes out on DVD soon. My nephew and his two sons (early 20’s) loved it when they visited recently.

Safe travels this weekend. Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year from frigid Oklahoma

  4. They’re making Christmas movie is based on the book by Katie M. Reid

A Very Bavarian Christmas by Katie M. Reid

Holly Noel Brigham is trapped back in her hometown of Bavarian Falls personalizing ornaments at Neumann’s, the famous mile-long Christmas store—and she doesn’t even like Christmas.

Problems, not presents, are stacking up for Holly. She’s in her thirties, still single, and sleeping in her childhood bedroom due to a failed start-up in the city.

Holly needs a turn of heart in order to unlock what’s next. The only guy showing any interest in her is quirky Frank, who keeps her laughing but makes her feel boxed in. Then there’s handsome Nik, who has a shady past but takes her ambitions seriously. As Holly works through fractured relationships and embarrassing misunderstandings, she stumbles upon love in the Bavarian-themed town from which she tried to distance herself.

"If you’re looking for a holiday-themed read that will warm your heart but also make you think, this is the perfect pick! The storyline and characters draw you in from the get-go and you’ll find yourself relating to their struggles and cheering for their victories."

  5. I’m not as excited as I want to be because of Kris’ movie this year not being family friendly. I hope this new movie will be because I love him, but I’m not going to get my hopes up.

  7. As much as I love these actors, both of them have had LGBT issues in previous films. But I'm hoping! I might loose power soon, hopefully not so I can watch one of these!

I hope you all have a blessed Christmas as we celebrate our Savior this year and a healthy and happy 2023!

  9. Hallmark's Biltmore Christmas movie casting call, visitor guidelines during filming

ASHEVILLE - For those who've dreamed about being in a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, now is your chance.

The Biltmore House, constructed in the late-1800s as the family home of famed entrepreneur George W. Vanderbilt, is a National Historic Landmark and popular tourist destination situated on an 8,000-acre estate in Asheville.

This winter, it will become the subject of a new Hallmark Channel holiday production, "A Biltmore Christmas."

"Biltmore is honored to be not only chosen as a location, but that the estate will be a predominant feature in the movie," Marissa Jamison, Biltmore's public relations manager, said in an email. "We feel like the estate being known for our Christmas celebration aligns perfectly with Hallmark, which is known for its Christmas movies. It’s a great story that involves time travel, and we were thrilled by the estate having such a large role in the movie to showcase Christmas decor at different times in the estate’s history."

"A Biltmore Christmas" is a story of star-crossed lovers. It begins in the present day with a screenwriter hired to write the script for a remake of a classic holiday movie filmed at the Biltmore House in 1946. She is transported through time and lands on the set as the original movie is being filmed where she and the lead actor discover they share an undeniable love connection.

"A Biltmore Christmas" will premiere as a part of Hallmark's 2023 "Countdown to Christmas" programming. However, filming will begin after the 2022 holiday season.

"Filming in January was perfect since the estate will be able to extend our extensive Christmas décor for the movie. We hope that our guests and community enjoy seeing this rare opportunity unfold on the estate and that those who love Christmas at Biltmore get enjoyment from watching the movie premiering November 2023," Jamison said.

    Casting call for extras

Hallmark Media is in search of extras ― or background performers ― for the film.

The Casting Office, Inc. posted a casting call stating that filming will occur over two weeks in January. Extras must be prepared to be on set for 12-14 hour work days. No experience is needed. All ages, ethnicities and gender identities are needed.

Instructions for applying include submitting two unedited photos of oneself ― an up-close smiling headshot and a full-length shot of one's entire body.

The full set of directions and the application form are available online at thecastingofficeinc.com.
