I have great news for those of you who would like to see NEW Rom-Com Movies in July!
UPtv will be airing NEW Premieres throughout the month with Tegan Moss, Devon Alexander, Christopher Russell, Cristina Rosato, Victor Zinck Jr., Jocelyn Panton, Giles Panton, Rhiannon Fish, and Roark Critchlow.
See all the details below...
Love on Fire
Original Air Date: July 10, 2022
Starring: Tegan Moss, Devon Alexander, Christopher Russell, Loretta Walsh
Storyline via UPtv: After moving in to her new home, Gia Summers soon forms an unexpected friendship with her neighbor, firefighter and single dad Jim Dunlap, whose love for barbecuing is equaled only by Gia's passion for cooking.
Movie Review:
ππ₯ "I watched a screening of this movie early via UPtv. Love on Fire is a nice movie with a terrific supporting cast! There are a lot of familiar faces from previous movies on UP and Hallmark. Love Loretta Walsh (“When Calls the Heart”) and Christopher Russell (“Warming Up to You”) as Mo and Karen; they are both sooo fun as a happily married couple - a breath of fresh air! They have a daughter who has cerebral palsy, which inspires the lead female, Gianna (Gia) Summers (played by Tegan Moss of “A Christmas Miracle for Daisy”), who is working on a playground project, to include inclusive activities and equipment for children with disabilities. This is a heartwarming movie the whole family can enjoy! Sparks fly between Gia and Jim (a firefighter and single father) the moment they meet at the firehouse over an old barbecue. Jim is played by Devon Alexander (“Warming Up to You”).
Two brief cautions…
Mo says his wife, Karen, is really into astrology; later on Karen says that Gia and Jim are a good astrology match, but nothing else is mentioned beyond that. Also, Jim jokingly asks Gia if she was an electrician in a past life. She teases back that she might’ve been.
Other than those comments, the movie is wholesome and family-friendly." ~Net

Love, Fashion, Repeat
Original Air Date: July 17, 2022
Starring: Cristina Rosato, Victor Zinck Jr.
Storyline via UPtv: When Lisa returns to her hometown to seek inspiration for her new fashion line, meeting a handsome writer is the last thing she expects. Will she make time for love?
Movie Review:
ππ "I watched Love, Fashion, Repeat for the second time last night. Since I really like Victor Zinck, Jr., I wanted a second chance to see if it was a keeper for me. It is! His acting never disappoints. This is a nice, family-friendly movie. Nothing spectacular; just relaxing and enjoyable. I will definitely watch again." ~kitkat

Love on Trend
Original Air Date: July 24, 2022
Starring: Jocelyn Panton, Giles Panton, Beverley Elliott, Amanda Wong
Storyline via UPtv: When Allie Ederling left her small town to move to San Francisco to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer, little did she imagine that the city had big plans for her… and for her heart!
Movie Review:
π "I briefly signed up for Pureflix several months ago and watched "Love on Trend" there. It's family-friendly! Though the storyline involves stretching the truth, which wearies me, and fashion doesn't get me super excited, I enjoyed watching it. Giles Panton always gives a quality performance, even in small parts I've noticed him in over the years, and I love finding out this movie is with his wife!" ~Alicia
π "I watched Love on Trend on UPtv and it is family-friendly. Like Alicia said in her review, the lead girl does stretch the truth and she pretends she has a job she doesn't. Other than that, it is sweet and lighthearted. At times, the story is kind of slow, but there's a nice ending for this couple, who are married in real-life." ~Net

Sweet as Pie
Original Air Date: July 31, 2022
Starring: Rhiannon Fish, Roark Critchlow, Tracey Power
Storyline via UPtv: An entrepreneur dealing with the implosion of her startup and her relationship visits her family’s apple orchard in hopes of taking a break from life until she falls for her childhood best friend, and the farm's new manager.
Movie Review:
π "Sweet as Pie is very family-friendly! It is the typical story where a young woman returns to her small hometown and reconnects with her childhood sweetheart, all while attempting to gain a higher position in her job back in the city. The more time Tamera spends at home helping her family with their apple orchard and trying to find her grandmother’s secret apple pie recipe, the more she falls in love with being there and her ex, Evan. Her goal at work is to come up with three words to describe herself to the committee deciding on her future position. Throughout her visit home, she mulls over what these three words will be, which I thought was rather cute. Evan says three words aren’t enough to describe Tamera, although he labels her as being “stubborn-as-heck.” My three words to review “Sweet as Pie”… Fun. Delightful. Heartwarming. It’s a *slice of sweetness*!" ~Net

Do you have a movie pick (or two?) for July? I'm going to pick "Sweet as Pie" as the one I'm most excited to see. Ironically, I have an apple pie currently baking in the oven... so hopefully, both will be really good! Plus, since we celebrate Independence Day in July, that makes me think of Americana and apple pie... so that makes this an ideal time for this movie to premiere!
Please note: I have not pre-screened the new UPtv movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.
Looks like a nice lineup! -Maria
ReplyDeleteSad to say not really inspired with this line up. Seems like a lot of same old, same old. Just me I guess.
ReplyDeleteThey look cute.
ReplyDeleteAll sound good to me...I really like Victor Zinck Jr so I'm looking forward to that one but the others sound good to me also.
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired. This lineup looks amazing. Uptv is pulling out all the stops . Interested to see the Paton's together. I've liked Victor Zinck, Jr dice Love on the Sidelines and want to see what part Christopher Russell and Loretta Walsh are playing in Love on Fire. They'd be so cute as spouses or love interests. Anyways, I'm on board.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see Victor Zinck, Jr. in another movie! He is a fantastic actor.
ReplyDeleteI've really liked him ever since Love on the Sidelines. Agree he is a really great actor.
DeleteClara, have you seen Victor in Love Alaska? I love that movie. Would love to get the DVD.
DeleteYes, love that one also...and I have it on DVD. I also have one titled Romance in the Wilds (which is good) and then they came out with a sequel Christmas in the Wilds, have but haven't had the chance to watch it as of yet.
ReplyDeleteSo far haven't seen any with him in that I didn't like.
Clara, I have both of those on DVD. Love Alaska DVD is arriving today.
Deletekitkat, that is great. I think Love Alaska is my favorite...so far.
DeleteI hope UP shows Christmas in the wild this Christmas season!

ReplyDeleteAlicia, Thank you for sharing this review with us! This one looks like a cute one.
DeleteI also have a subscription to Pureflix, so I wanted to note that sometimes the movies there are edited to be family-friendly.
In fact, I watched another movie on Pureflix and shared a review here that it was family-friendly. Others were able to see it on a channel in Canada and there was a brief scene that was not family-friendly oriented on there. Unfortunately, I was unaware of that scene.
Anyway, I sure hope this ends up being exactly what you saw Alicia. I agree, it is nice to see Giles Panton in a lead role, finally, especially with his wife. I so appreciate you taking the time share with us!
I posted your review above. ^
