Hallmark Channel Press Release:
Acclaimed Actors Autumn Reeser and Tyler Hynes Star Academy Award Nominee, Patty McCormack Co-Stars in the Film
STUDIO CITY, CA - February 10, 2022 - Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has announced start of production on a new drama for Spring 2022, "Always Amore." Giada De Laurentiis, globally revered celebrity chef, New York Times best-selling author, restauranteur and Emmy Award-winning inimitable TV personality is Executive Producer of the new film. Autumn Reeser ("The Wedding Veil"), Tyler Hynes ("An Unexpected Christmas") and Academy Award nominee, Patty McCormack (The Bad Seed) star in the film.
"Partnering with someone of Giada De Laurentiis' caliber, with her extensive and authentic knowledge of film and food, makes for the perfect union," Lisa Hamilton Daly, EVP Programming shared.
Elizabeth (Reeser), with the support of her mother-in-law Nonna (McCormack), is doing everything she can to keep her late husband's once acclaimed -- but now struggling -- Italian restaurant afloat. With business going downhill, she is forced to work with a professional restaurant consultant, Ben (Hynes), to see if they can turn things around. At first, Elizabeth resists the changes Ben believes will save the restaurant, but as they get closer, Elizabeth realizes that not all change is bad. She rediscovers her passion for baking and might even open her heart to new love.
"My family has a deep history in cinema and Italian culture. It has been a dream of mine to take my love of film and food to Executive Produce a Hallmark movie that authentically honors my amazing Italian heritage," Giada De Laurentiis said. De Laurentiis' Grandfather Agostino "Dino" was one of the producers who brought Italian cinema to the mainstream at the end of World War II, and 38 of his films were nominated for Academy Awards. De Laurentiis' Food Network show "Everyday Italian" premiered in 2002, followed by "Giada's Weekend Getaways," "Giada at Home," "Giada Entertains", "Giada in Italy, "Simply Giada" and "Giada's Holiday Handbook" leading her to become an international household name.
"Always Amore" is a Front Street Pictures and Gastronomy Road Production. Produced by Charles Cooper. Giada De Laurentiis, Anne Fox, Dan Fox, Harvey Kahn, Allen Lewis, Bianca Versteeg, Denielle Jackson and Orly Adelson are Executive Producers. Kevin Fair is directing a script by Julie Sherman Wolfe.
My take:
I think this new movie, "Always Amore," sounds like a delicious treat! I'm curious to see Tyler Hynes and Autumn Reeser paired up together. Plus, the movie also stars Patty McCormack, who you may already know from her extensive career in film and TV; Hallmark viewers may recognize her as Nan from "Christmas in Evergreen: Tidings of Joy." McCormack started out her career as a child star; one of her early movies was the heartwarming Christmas film: "All of Mine to Give." Even though TCM plays it every Christmas, it's been years since I've sat down to watch it, but I must tell you, if you do, tissues are most definitely required! It's a real tear-jerker, but in a beautiful, giving way.

It's also nice to see Food Network star, Giada De Laurentiis, will be producing this movie and sharing her Italian roots in the kitchen. I'm looking forward to watching "Always Amore" this spring - when it premieres on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!

Autumn Reeser and Tyler Hynes movies on DVD...
Yet another Hallmark movie where one of the lead characters has been married before - the proportion of these is now totally unfair - I'n very unhappy - Florence
ReplyDeleteSounds promising.

Autumn Reeser - great actress.
ReplyDeleteTyler Hynes - probably Hallmark's current #1 actor.
But.............as a pairing? - don't see it.
Time will tell - Florence
Florence, I'm curious, too, about this match-up. Should be interesting to see if it works on screen.
DeleteIs this movie similar to Love on the Menu with Autumn and Kavan? It kind of sounds similar. But I guess they all do at this point.
ReplyDeleteSabrina
Sabrina, That is so true! They do seem to have similar plot lines - repeated over and over again. I was just recalling Autumn also played a character who helped her mother in a restaurant in "Season for Love." She's definitely no stranger to the restaurant biz!
