The Song to My Heart

Original Air Date: February 20, 2022

Starring: Lanie McAuley and Sebastian Pigott

Story-line via UPtv: After a childhood on the road with her legendary singer-songwriter father, organic teashop owner Bonnie Highstreet, wants nothing to do with the music business, but when she helps music sensation Ryder Jamison, develop lyrics for his new solo album, she rekindles her long abandoned dream and falls in love.

Movie Review:

"The Song to my Heart is a beautiful movie!" -Maria

"The Song To My Heart Lanie McAuley and Sebastian Pigott are two new names to me but they made such a great pairing - it wasn't that there were sparks flying but they made such a natural, heart-warming couple together that it was enchanting to see them on screen together. Ryder was a music star who had lost his sparkle and came to his old idol to try to re-find his inspiration and meets the daughter Bonnie who used to compose music but had a song stolen from her by an ex-boyfriend which became a big hit. This has discouraged her and she is now in the process of opening an organic teashop. The two connect through their love of music and Ryder encourages Bonnie to go back to songwriting. In actual fact there wasn't an awful lot happening and yet the 80 minutes just seemed to fly by. There was a nice touch of Bonnie's father finding romance. One which had that "je ne sais pas quoi" for me." Florence's rating 7.5

Movie Review:

    1. From what I read online they aren't married but they are in a relationship.

  2. So delighted that UPtv are continuing with Reel One Movies - for a while towards the end of last year it seemed that they might be moving in a different direction.

It it wasn't for UP there would be a lot of these movies we would miss altogether.

In general I find I enjoy most of them.

These all look pretty good - from the photographs the castings look great which for me is half the battle.

I'm particularly delighted to see A Wedding To Remember with Greyston Holt surface - it's been out there a long time and I thought it wasn't going to get aired.

I'm surprised Hallmark hasn't taken up on Greyston - I believe he's only had 1 movie for them.

I think he's a fine actor but it did take me a while to warm to him

The first time I saw him was with Cindy Busby in A Puppy For Christmas which was simply awful and family unfriendly - at the start Cindy was co-habiting with her then boyfriend and at one stage Greyston's character got drunk.

Can't wait to see this - Florence

  3. Florence - Totally agree! Casting is key to a great movie. Once that mark is missed... well, the movie is pretty much heading downhill from there.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see "A Wedding to Remember," especially since it was just released on DVD in December. Greyston is one of those guys who can pretty much play any character. My first real remembrance of him - was as the nice, likeable guy in an episode of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," where he played opposite of Emilie Ullerup. Then, he played Bethany Joy Lenz's disrespectful, arrogant ex in "The Christmas Secret."

Plus, I think you're right... "Cross Country Christmas" may be his only lead in a Hallmark movie and he was great in that comedy type role.

He's had several lead roles with UP... and you are so right "A Puppy for Christmas," in spite of it's cute title and great leading stars, is not a good movie. Hope "A Wedding to Remember" is much better, perhaps more in line with his UP movie, "Love is a Piece of Cake."

  4. I think they all look good but the one with Brittany will be the one I'm most looking forward to. I love her and always thought Hallmark should have used her more as the lead actress. Good for UpTv now if GAC picks her up we'll see her in even more movies!

    1. Clara, Me too! Love Brittany Bristow, as well! In addition to this UPtv movie, I'm hearing she'll also have one coming up on Hallmark soon. Would also love to see her on GAC Family! :)

    2. Is she playing lead or a secondary role?

I she she's in a movie with Chris McNally coming up but I'm not sure she's his love interest - Florence

    3. Brittany is playing the lead role, Bella Channing. On Instagram she said the title is Love Rescued, but IMDB still says A Dog Named Indie.

This is the plot info on IMDB:
When Bella discovers that funding for her dog rescue centre is discontinued, she turns to JR, a soldier who quickly becomes attached to one of her rescues, a German Shepard named, Indie.

Brittany's mother, Agnes, co-wrote the movie and her father, Leif, directed it. You've probably already seen this movie info, though, as I know you are very much in tune with what's new.

    4. Thanks for the info, Net.

This is great news, especially that it is on Hallmark.

I've enjoyed Brittany in a few movies from Reel One recently and Chris McNally is one of my very favourites so I'm thinking this should be a great match-up - Florence
