My thoughts...

To all my dear friends here- this has been another heartbreaking week with the terrible loss of life in Afghanistan with our military and civilians. My prayers are with the family and friends of those whose lives were lost and our military still serving in the midst of this extreme chaos.

As we go into the weekend, I hope everyone enjoys the simple things... time spent with loved ones in person or on the phone, quiet time in The Word, the beauty of nature, and most of all, may we truly appreciate our precious freedom here in America. I pray we never take it for granted and we continue to fight for it.

I know many of you visit here to escape the news for bit, but I had to share from my heart. I will move on now to lighter things... For the new premieres this weekend - I am personally looking forward to watching the new UPtv movie "Love's Match." I've been a fan of Robin Dunne for years - since the family drama series, "Little Men," the early "Aurora Teagarden" mystery movies, and of course, he's Mitch O'Grady, the radio DJ in Hallmark's "On the Twelfth Day of Christmas," which will always be one of my personal Christmas movie favorites!

Are you looking forward to watching something new this weekend? Please share your thoughts in comments below.

Blessings to all my dear friends here, Net

  2. Sweet Pecan Summer

Wes Brown's Latest Hallmark Movie was Inspired by His Wife Amanda's Southern Family with an on-screen appearance by their 11-year-old daughter, Sweet Pecan Summer is a true family affair.

Wes Brown portrayed as J.P., who must assist his ex-girlfriend, Amanda (Christine Ko), in selling her favorite Aunt’s pecan farm in Hallmark Channel's 'Sweet Pecan Summer.'

Wes Brown is executive producer for Sweet Pecan Summer and its origins are a story written by his wife, Amanda, based on her real life, Southern family. "It's about her family," Brown recently told Southern Living. "She is from Florida. Aunt Carol lived in South Alabama as did most of her family," he said, explaining that his wife's family had a farm and the family went through the process of selling it together, much like the premise of the film. Brown's wife Amanda is in the process of launching a writing career and her doting husband proudly shared "her Aunt Carol meant a great, great, great, deal to her. And after she passed, the fact that first story she sells has Aunt Carol as the leading lady played by Lauren Tom was really super cool."

  5. Both of these appeal to me. Wes Brown is a favorite.

Yesterday was really rough for me for I tend to carry the burdens of the world on my shoulders. Watching SSD Christmas last night was exactly what I needed. Reminded me of who God is and how much He loves each of us. The song "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands" comes to mind. Net, the scripture you quoted above, Romans 12:12 is a daily prayer for me.

    1. kitkat, Bless your heart, honey. I totally understand those feelings. I wish so much there was a way we could fix things - so many people hurting and scared right now. I was watching "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Higher Ground" on Sunday and they were singing the song - "Hand it Over" - so the words kept replaying in my head throughout the day - "Hand it Over ... Get On Your Knees and Pray!"

You can listen to it on YouTube -
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RXA6ugon1c

Or, here are the full lyrics...

      If your problems
      Won't go away
      And you're worried
      Both night and day
      Hand it over
Get on your knees and pray

      If you're sick
      Feeling low
      Got no money
      Got nowhere to go
      Hand it over
Get on your knees and pray

      Hand it over
      Hand it over
Give it up, give it over
      Hand it over
Get on your knees and pray

      Ain't no mountain
      You cant climb
      Ain't no answer
      You can't find
All you need is a hand to hold
      I'll heal your body
      And feed your soul

      If the road is dark
And you can't find your way
Just let the spirit light the way
      Hand it over
Get on your knees and pray

      Hand it over
      Hand it over
Give it up, give it over
      Hand it over
Get on your knees and pray

      Ain't no mountain
      You cant climb
      Ain't no answer
      You can't find
All you need is a hand to hold
      I'll heal your body
      And feed your soul

      Hand it over
      Hand it over
Give it up, give it over
      Hand it over
Get on your knees and pray

Hope this touches your heart kitkat - as it did mine. I also love the song "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands." That always gives me peace, too.

  11. Always glad to see Robin Dunn in another movie. Looking forward to this one on UP. Loved him in the 12th Day of Christmas and Also the Sound of Christmas. Which is one of my favorites.

  12. Love's Match was not a match for me. It was ok, but I am not a big fan of 'competing matchmakers' movies. Only one I liked was Midnight Kiss with that theme. How their dispute was just fixed within a commercial break made no sense either.
