*UPDATE - BREAKING CHRISTMAS MOVIE NEWS:
Christmas Movies start Friday, October 18th on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Drama!
Hallmark put out a notice on social media - sharing this news with all of their viewers! They just couldn't wait for Christmas to begin! So... be sure to tune in early tomorrow morning, at 7am/6c. - as Hallmark Drama begins their 24/7 - night and day - Christmas movie coverage and 7pm/6c. as Hallmark Novies & Mysteries begins theirs!
CHRISTMAS MOVIES ARE ALMOST HERE!!!!!
Wow, I guess they did this cause of Lifetime doing Christmas all day this entire week, which I have enjoyed. This is just so early. I guess hallmark has to be first in everything.
ReplyDeleteSabrina - Yeah, the competition is on this year. You can definitely feel it.
Deletethey had to after Lifetime started movies earlier this week.
ReplyDeleteI think you are 100% right here, Denise.
DeleteSo I guess they cancelled the 3rd Crossword movie, according to their website it's not playing wow more hallmark cancellations, all to beat lifetime with movies starting.
ReplyDeleteIt was disappointing not to see Crosswords on last night. I still can't believe they promoted it for a week as the last mystery movie before Christmas, then pulled it.
DeleteAwwww, no! I enjoy the Christmas movies as much as anyone, but Crossword Mysteries Proposing Murder was supposed to be aired tonight and I was planning to watch. They only showed it once!! That seems crazy... And the new Crossword Mystery movie this Sunday has been removed! This feels like a knee-jerk reaction to Lifetime, and this morning I'm pretty bummed having to wait until January to see these mysteries. *sigh* Why oh why does the scheduling have to be so crazy?!
ReplyDeleteSo grateful for your site, Net!

Hello Alicia! I think we are all feeling a little blindsided by this latest development. While I love the Christmas movies immensely, I just wish they would announce a schedule and stick to it.
DeleteIt's obvious to everyone that Hallmark and Lifetime are in a battle right now for ratings, and I think it's sad. I mean, Hallmark has 40 Christmas movies overall and now Lifetime has 30! The average person will not be able to watch every single one of them by Christmas. In fact, I'm wondering if the quantity of movies will actually make ratings go down.
Thank you for your very sweet comment! I'm so glad you enjoy visiting here throughout the Christmas season!
Blessings! Net
I think you're completely right, Net! I know I will still be watching new Christmas movies into the spring. :-) I agree...it seems like the networks' strategy may backfire by bombarding viewers and losing that feeling of "special-ness." But, I guess we'll see. Whatever happens, I sure hope that there's a witty one this year out of 70+! The humor of Window Wonderland and Nine Lives of Christmas always makes me smile, and I would love another along those lines, wouldn't you? :-)

Thanks so much for letting us know the movies started today! When I looked on the Dish network guide it still shows a Little House on the Prairie marathon today. Had I not gotten your update I would have scrolled right past it thinking they weren't starting today!
ReplyDeleteHello Janet! I'm so glad you visited here and saw this news! I know many people were taken by surprise - by this and the TV schedules were not updated, by the time Hallmark made this sudden announcement.
DeleteI hope you've enjoyed many Christmas movie since they began! :)
I have decided Hallmark is one of the most unorganized group of people and evidently very afraid of their competion. And they don't have to be. They are their own worst enemy. More is not always better. The competion between the networks and making more movies each Christmas has watered down the quality. Now this....changing the schedule, removing movies abruptly! I think viewers will start to lose confidence in Hallmark. Never know what to believe they say. I love the Christmas movie season as much as anyone, but I think this is too early! Thank you Net for keeping us updated.
ReplyDeleteTalk about losing confidence, I had postponed watching the last 4 Chesapeake Shores episodes cause I am worried they aren't bringing it back for various reasons, but I finally watched yesterday, and lets just say I feel it is not coming back. And if that's the case, I would appreciate them telling us fans of the show. Not just leave us hanging, and I just don't trust Hallmark right now to believe it is coming back. And if it is not, why not tell us? I suspect we will have to wait til after Christmas to know the status of that show, but watching it made me sad thinking it is done.
DeleteHello Joyce! I know just how you feel. On the one hand, I am beyond grateful for the content and wholesome programming Hallmark gives us daily, but on the other... as far as the scheduling goes, it is quite confusing and disappointing, at times, the way they change things around. That is precisely why I am not doing the Christmas Movie Schedule as fully as I have in the past. I would love to share everything, as I have for OVER 10 years, but with the way the schedules can change so abruptly and suddenly, well, it's almost nearly impossible to keep up with and it's not fair to me or all of you.
DeletePlus, I know everyone loves to print the schedules (myself included!), but I don't want people constantly printing something that may only change a day later.
I'll do my best to keep things updated here, as usual, especially when it comes to all the new Christmas movies! Let's hope there will be fewer changes now, and let's hope there are some good Christmas movies amongst all the numerous films coming our way this year.
Over the weekend, I found myself captivated for the millionth time with "The Christmas Card." That movie is truly the best Hallmark has ever made, the real snow falling down, the amazing town and setting, and the story - so rich in family, military appreciation, and a sweet love story, too! I sure hope we'll see more like that!
Hello Sabrina! Glad to hear you enjoyed the end of "Chesapeakes Shores" and want to see more! Me too! As far as we know, at this point, there are "plans" to do a movie with the sisters next year, but where does that leave other characters in the story? Especially Connor? He seems to be at a crossroads with his work and relationships. Will other family members appear - if this movie happens? So many questions.
DeleteNet, I was thinking the movie will be the end, something to let everyone know where everyone is at in their lives. I think if it doesn't come back, booth Connor and Bree will not be on the show. I do agree about Connor, he just never seems to get a break, or if he does it is too late. I have a feeling the movie is the send off, and if that was the last season I would have just appreciated them saying it. I almost feel like my intelligence is being challenged, like they think the viewers are not smart enough to know things. They promoted it thins year, even Jesse Metcalfe promoted Trace and abby and that he was ok with them being not together this season cause it is more realistic, making me think there would be another season, I just feel so cheated really.
DeleteWho knows, they will probably say no more CS and bring WHC to Hallmark and play that in place, I just am feeling so doubtful, and I should be happy with the ending of the season, but I feel sad we wont see one of the more mature, real life shows they have.
Oh Net, I am in total agreement with you about The Christmas Card. It will always be my favorite! Hallmark cannot out do this one. And there are lots and lots that I love dearly, but The Christmas Card is just so very special. I also feel like Hallmark wants something newer to take over it's popularity. Wouldn't surprise me to see them move it to Hallmark Movies Now. I didn't understand why it was moved to HMM in the first place. I was just thinking the other day that this movie has been around so long that new viewers with just the Hallmark channel have never seen it as well as some of the other great movies too. Sad!! And have you noticed that the Angel of Christmas is not listed with any air dates as of today anyway.
DeleteMy 80 year old mother has been a huge fan of HM Christmas movies for years. Back in 2015, I decided to create an Excel sheet of the schedule for both HM and HMM movies so that she would know when her favorites were showing. Mom was overjoyed. The schedule turned out to be useless; it was changed on a daily basis, seemingly at random. I've never known of a network that operated like that - ever. The same thing is still going on today. Maybe it's time for a change in HM upper management?
