Crime Fiction Professor Amy and Detective Travis attend a play where a prop gun fires a real bullet, narrowly missing the star Bella. Declaring the theater, a crime scene, Travis interviews the set designer, who owes Bella money, her ex-husband, who wants her back, and Elliot, the male lead, who’s enamored with her. Though shaken, Bella throws a party where Duncan, her jealous husband causes a scene, then finds her dead the next morning from a heart attack. Tracing the cause to drugs stolen from a pharmacy, Travis has suspects galore and, luckily, Amy’s expertise in whodunits.
What’s about Danica McKellar’s Matchmaker Mysteries movies for August 2019, will Hallmark planning to do movie(s)? Whose is her leading man?
ReplyDeleteDanica is just finishing up what appears to be a Summer Nights movie for Hallmark called "Sunshine." After this, who knows? She could starting filming this Mystery, or maybe something for Christmas!!! We'll have to wait and see. :)
DeleteI'm not sure about the mystery, but I know that sometimes certain Hallmark projects are in development for a long time before they go into production. (On the other hand, sometimes things are in development for a while and then never see the light of day at all! lol) Most likely, everyone involved is making sure to work out any problems with the script(s), and are also deciding on the right supporting cast, ideal locations for filming, etc.
DeleteIF Hallmark wants to get the first movie in the "Matchmaker Mysteries" series on the air in, say, January or February 2020, we'll probably see that it's in production by or before November of this year. If they are not planning to premiere it early in 2020, then it might not be filmed this year at all.
One thing I will point out is that it's worth remembering that Patti Stanger (known as "The Millionaire Matchmaker") has a part in developing the "Matchmaker Mysteries" series in the first place. She is a very successful, strong businesswoman dealing with a very particular type of clientele in her role as a high-end matchmaker. Patti has a very no-nonsense, blunt, sometimes brash, unfiltered approach to situations. Now she could be playing up that side of her personality for her assorted TV series and interviews. But IF she is anything like how she comes across in her shows, then I expect that she is probably a bit challenging at times -- and IF she is actively involved in developing "The Matchmaker Mysteries" with Hallmark, she might disagree with some of the decisions being made about the script and the direction it is taking. I can picture that kind of thing happening.
BUT I am just guessing. I have no idea what is really going on behind the scenes. I think that the idea of a matchmaker solving crimes sounds like a lot of fun, though, and I am looking forward to it, whenever it premieres!
As for a Christmas movie for Danica -- if I recall correctly, I think she just recently said (either in an InstaStory or in one of her live Monday chats, or somewhere on social media) that she was going to shoot her next Christmas movie soon after "Sunshine" wraps up.
With any luck, maybe/hopefully Danica will wrap up "Sunshine," go right into filming her Christmas movie, and then start "Matchmaker Mysteries" before the end of the year. But, if nothing else, we will at least get "Sunshine" and the Christmas movie this year.
I hope Alicia Witt will write her ideal story with the co writer(s) for Christmas movie so, she’ll star in
