Today, TCM will honor Mrs. Shirley Temple Black in a Movie Marathon of some of her very best films! Perhaps, this is a way to say "Happy Birthday" to her in advance, since her birthday is April 23rd!
Little Miss Marker
(A big-time gambler picks up a young girl as security on an IOU.)
The Poor Little Rich Girl
(A lost rich girl takes up with a pair of musical performers.)
Heidi
(An orphaned girl tends goats for her grandfather until she's sold to serve as a disabled girl's companion.)
The Little Princess
(When her father is reported dead in war, his daughter fights harsh conditions at her boarding school.)
Kathleen ... 2:30 PM
Since You Went Away
(A woman copes with wartime rationing by taking in a colonel for extra money while her husband is away serving in World War II, but the war's turmoil appears minor in comparison when her daughter starts a relationship with the lodger's grandson.)
The Littlest Rebel
(A small and determined Southern girl befriends a Yankee soldier while protecting her Confederate father and even goes to Washington to see the President.)
I agree with you. I love Heidi and The Little Princess! They are the best and she is so sweet in them!
ReplyDeleteI like Heidi best. I remember it the most from seeing it years ago as a young girl. It is such an emotional heartwarming film, and it's also a bit of a Christmas Movie, too! I Luv it!
ReplyDeleteI'm receiving several e-mails, too, from blog followers who love Shirley Temple - especially in Heidi and The Little Princess.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is remarking on her great talent - with singing and tap dancing and delivering her lines perfectly on cue! She's truly incredible!
