  2. I'm so glad she's doing so many movies for Hallmark; I've enjoyed all of them. She's such a beautiful actress and you can't help but feel good after watching her films. Looking forward to this one, too!!

  5. Growing up, I was as a big a Full House fan as the next person was. Unfortunately, though, I just don't think CCB's Hallmark movies are good--particularly her Christmas movies. My main problem with the Christmas movies she does is that they are always the same premise--she plays some uppity/big city girl who for one reason or another has to go to some low radar, simple town. She ends up changing her ways for the better and falling for the cute, nice, and simple guy in that town. BORING! It's ALWAYS the same with her! She needs to switch things up a bit and try a movie with a different story/character. I was actually shocked reading the synopsis for "Mom's Blind Date" because it's a story/premise she's never done! Finally! Now, I just hope it's good.

    1. I hadn't given it much thought, but you are right. All three of CCB's Hallmark Christmas movies have that same concept of big city snob comes to the small town and like you said falls for the local guy and mellows out. That's also the same story in her other movie Finding Normal. That one was on another channel, though.

Something else I just caught in each of CCB's Hallmark Christmas movies is she has some issue with her father in all of these movies regarding family and work. It's not real creative when they continue to do the same story over and over again and use the same actress to do it. Maybe this new Mom movie will be a step towards a different direction. Jenny

  6. Finally someone agrees with me! I love Candace, but these roles are all the same and each movie seems to become gradually worse than the first. Christmas Under Wraps being the worst of all. Lauren

    1. LOL at you saying "Finally". Yeah, I know a lot of people love her and will rave about ANY movie she does just because they grew up watching her, but I'm not one of those people. In my opinion, her movies are just NOT good!! And I wish they were, I do! There needs to be more range! Like Kelli Martin or Lacey Chabert. I think a lot of Lacey's movies are bad, too (although I was shocked that I REALLY LIKED "A Royal Christmas"), but she plays different characters in many of them, which is what is SO lacking in CCB's movie choices.

  7. Wow! This is an interesting discussion on Candace. I have followed her, as most of you have, from her Full House days. I am thrilled to know she is a fellow believer in The Lord and I enjoy most of her movies, which are always decent and family friendly.

It is incredible, as you pointed out above, that they have used this same story concept to make so many of her recent movies.

I do think Mom's Blind Date will be vastly different and she'll be doing that Mystery Series for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries... Coming this spring! So hopefully, that big city girl story-line will be gone for a long time!

  9. Candace is a class act all the way, starting with her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ which she is not afraid to profess!! Her movies are simple, pure and make you feel good.Candace is beautiful inside and out!

  10. i love all the hallmark movies. they are decent, happy, uplifting, and family oriented. my favorite actresses are candace cameron brue and lacy chabert.l candace is a woman of faith, modestly dressed, has a vibrant personality, and her characters reflect those virtues. her movies are never boring even if the stories are similar, because i am left feeling good about life, and love, and overcoming problems with creativity while being thoroughly happily entertained. "a class act" and "family plan" were very different and 2 of my favorites. i have never laughed as hard during a hallmark movie as when i watched "family plan".

  11. Just finished watching "Just The Way You Are" and it was wonderful, especially the message that an couple can actually work out the bumps in their marriage, and not give up. It was also wonderful to Candace play out a different kind of role, she, I don't think she's played before, other than in real life (as mother'/wife/working mom). I recognize the actor Ty Olsson, who played her husband, played the dad in " Smart Cookies " and the actress (her name escapes me), who played Jenny's client/dancer as Jennifer's assistant in "The Most Wonderful Time of The Year."

  13. What is the actors name that is her husband's boss. I hardly recognized him. I remember him playing on a lot of shows a while back. I just can't remember his name.

    2. The actor who played Ian's boss in the movie is Scott Hylands. He also appeared in Ring By Spring (2014).

  14. For those saying all her roles are the same there is something else to consider - those are watching it for the first time. I have never seen one of her movies and am delighted to watch this movie.
