An Exciting Christmas Movie Reveal is Here!!!
In a previous post, I mentioned that actor Jesse Hutch filmed a Christmas movie earlier this year. At the time, the film had the working title In Starlight Point: A Christmas Card Mystery; however, it now has a new title: Our Starlight Christmas.
And even better news... we now know who Jesse Hutch's co-star is!
But first, before I reveal who this mystery woman is, let's take a quick look at the movie's plot...

"When a once-beloved Christmas novelist returns home to Starlight Point to save her career, she's pulled back into the traditions she shared with her late father - including writing the town pageant. As she reconnects with her family, her community, and the first love she left behind, she discovers that the story she's been struggling to write is the one bringing them all back together."

When I first shared this Christmas movie, we only had a few pictures from the set provided by The Hamilton Spectator, which only shared the back of Jesse Hutch's female co-star. Many of us tried to guess at the time who this mystery woman might be, and I'm so delighted that my initial guess was right!
Jesse's co-star in Our Starlight Christmas is... Ashley Newbrough (Operation Nutcracker, Flipping for Christmas). Was your guess right, too?
Jesse Hutch is very much involved with Great American Family these days, having recently starred in the 2025 Christmas movie Have We Met This Christmas? and, even more recently, in both the 2026 TV series Crossroad Springs and When Hope Calls: Brookfield.
According to the production notes, Our Starlight Christmas is supposed to be a Great American Family Christmas film, but please know the network has NOT confirmed this yet. Stay tuned for any developments there.

Our Starlight Christmas will not be Ashley and Jesse's first Christmas movie together. The two also starred in the cute Christmas comedy, Snowmance, which premiered on ION in 2017. It's a fun fantasy-type story in which Jesse Hutch portrays a snowman who comes to life!
Ashley Newbrough has also starred in a number of Christmas and romantic comedy movies over the years for the Hallmark Channel and Lifetime, including Unwrapping Christmas: Lily's Destiny, Heart's Around the Table: Jenna's First Love, Christmas Love Letter, and more! If this ends up being a film for Great American Family, this will be her first film for the network.
Our Starlight Christmas is a Vortex Media production. This company also has other Christmas movies coming this holiday season, including:
A Culinary Christmas - starring Laura Vandervoort and Olivier Renaud
A Miniature Christmas - starring Katherine Barrell and Stephen Huszar
Uphill for Christmas - starring Vanessa Lengies and Marcus Rosner

Awww I’m a little bummed about this. I love Jesse but Ashely, in recent years she has just fell so flat for me. I’ll still tune in with an open mind but wish they could have paired him with a fresh face.

ReplyDeleteI am glad to finally know who Jesse’s costar is and I know the production notes say this is supposed to be for Great American Family I hope we get announcement soon. Because I have my doubts. I looked into the writers, the producers, the director all have done hallmark movies before. Vortex has also has done hallmark movies before too, Yes I know they could do a movie and not know who the production company is making/selling the movie for. Until I see a announcement I will have doubts.

ReplyDeleteI saw a post that the person was 100% certain is was for Great American Family. Now they are not si sure, If it is for Hallmark I will be very disappointed on Jesse. You can’t say that you are have religious beliefs but go to work on a hallmark movie. Yes I know it could a movie that was made for anyone but that is not an excuse. If it does become a movie for hallmark I say kick him off crossroad springs.

ReplyDeleteAbigail, I hope you all were safe during the storms. We were in our basement last night for awhile, too, waiting for the storms to pass. It was a little scary when then wind got stronger. I heard at one time there were (I believe) 13 tornado warnings. That's one of things I don't love much about Spring. I hope and pray all were safe!
DeleteI’m glad to hear you and your family are safe Net. It was scary hearing the sirens go off twice and then rush down to the basement and get under a mattress, but the Lord saw us through. Thank you for praying. Storms always make me jumpy and anxious.
DeleteOn a lighter note, I always like to pack a small bag just in case. Like my passport, wallet, water, tablets, etc. But I had extra room so I added my WCTH collection case. I didn’t even tell my family. They would probably laugh. It adds up though… if I had room I would take down the mystery case too! Hahahaha ;)
Abigail, I'm so glad you all were safe, too!!!!! Praise God!!! That is smart to take a few necessities, plus something you love. That's so sweet! I thought about our photo albums as I rushed down to the basement, but left them behind while the sirens rang out. Just another reminder that I really need to digitize more of our most precious photos.
DeleteI am going to say this if this was a Great American Family movie with how popular Jesse is they would have announced it already. And that they have Ashley in a movie they would have made a big deal about the movie like they did with the Ryan Paevey movie. I could be wrong but I feel it is for Hallmark.
ReplyDeleteBebe, I'm not 100% certain, either. There are many possibilities where this could end up besides Great American Family... UPtv, Hallmark, Lifetime, the CW, Super Channel Heart & Home (in Canada), Streaming, etc...

I'm sure we'll all be keeping an eye out for this one when Christmas movie announcements are officially made, if we don't learn something sooner.
Net, today announcement of Mario Lopez new Christmas movie Christmas at the Starlight has me wondering about this movie. Is IMBD wrong on the description. Is there only one movie annd Jesse and Ashley are also in the movie with Mario and Tony? While Vortex Medis Production is listed Candour Pictures is listed too. So I guess we have to just wait.
