If you've been watching Great American Family lately, you may have seen a new message pop up at the bottom of the screen for viewers who have the streaming service Frndly TV.
As seen in my screen-grabbed image above, the message states: "On Oct. 1, this channel will no longer be available to you! Contact FRNDLY at support@frndlyTV.com today!"
I saw this message last night and chatted with Frndly TV this morning about it. The customer service representative at Frndly TV stated (in our chat) that both companies are currently in active negotiations.
However, if you have an account with Frndly TV, please email them today. Let your voice be heard. Please tell them you want Frndly TV to keep Great American Family! I believe the more feedback they receive from their customers, the more likely they are to reach an agreement.
I also asked about the Great American Faith & Living channel, and customer service stated that since it is part of the overall Great American Channel's package, it would also be leaving their streaming service on October 1st.
As for Great American Pure Flix, which was just recently announced that it would be joining the streaming service as a paid subscription add-on, the customer service rep. had no further information on that at this time.
Of course, I am not thrilled about this development, as I love watching and recording my favorite Great American Family movies through Frndly TV, as it's so easy and convenient. I asked the Frndly TV rep. what would happen to my previous recordings from GAF, and they responded they did not know. The rep. then apologized and said they were doing everything they could do to keep the channels we wanted.
If you have Frndly TV, please reach out -

Today marks 20 days until the Christmas movies begin on Great American Family. Please let Frndly TV know you want their streaming provider to keep this channel! I'm hoping a deal can be made that will satisfy both companies and the viewers. We are coming upon the Christmas season, which is the season of miracles, after all!
You can also access Hallmark Channel via Philo, Sling TV, Frndly TV, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV and Fubo. While Hallmark Plus is the network's streaming arm, you cannot access new movies right away, so if you're looking to watch new Hallmark Channel originals immediately upon their release, you'll need access to the channel.
ReplyDeleteThis is not a post about Hallmark. Nice try though.
DeleteNOOOOOooooo!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey can’t do this, especially right before Christmas!!!!! That ain’t right. Please email everybody. We’ve gotta keep GAF on FrndlyTV!
No, Frndly TV still has Great American Family as a channel. Great American Family is available on Frndly TV for live and on-demand viewing. It's also available on other streaming services, including Fubo TV, Philo, Hulu, DirecTV Stream, and Sling TV. Great American Family is also available on major cable providers

Anonymous, curious where in the blog post did they mention anything about Hallmark. Channel? The post was about Frrndly losing Great American Family Channel. No where did they say they can not access Hallmark Channel.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy GAF also on FrndlyTV and is so easy to record and watch later. I hope they come to an agreement. I won't pay for another streaming service. Looks like if they can't reach an agreement, I might have to see if I can watch on free PhiloTV or on Hulu. I did send an email to FrndlyTV.
ReplyDeleteSo, I sent an email to Frndly TV and they sent back a response in about 20 minutes. It's a bit ambiguous but it shows room for hope (although they included a Hallmark "Fall into Love" ad in the email, so...??). See copies below (condensed for space). ~~Jane
ReplyDelete"To whom it may concern, I just heard that as of October 1st the Great American Family channel will no longer be available through Frndly TV. The ONLY reason I signed up four years ago for the Frndly Premium yearly subscription was to support a streaming service that carried Great American Family. I have a premium cable service that provides GAF as well as every other network imaginable, and includes a huge dvr capability. Therefore, I do not need Frndly TV but continued my yearly subscription here simply as a support for a company that supported GAF when others were not doing so years ago.
My Frndly TV subscription is up for automatic renewal as of January 2025. Please know that I will definitely cancel this subscription, if Great American Family network is canceled from Frndly TV. I look forward to hearing a response to this email and a positive outcome. Thank you, ______ (premium subscriber since 1/1/22)"
"Thank you for sharing your love for Great American Family!
We truly apologize for the confusion caused by the notice on their channel. Great American Family is still available on Frndly TV, and we are working to keep GAF in our channel lineup along with all of your other favorite channels. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We are here to help! Thank you, Frndly TV"
p.s. -- Net, have you checked with your GAF contacts about this? Should I also be sending them an email or is it mainly on FrndlyTV's end? ~~Jane
ReplyDeleteOH NO!!! It cannot leave - and even if they do settle a week later, what happens to all of our DVR'd material??? They need to settle before the 1st, for sure. Also praying the dock strike is averted as well. The 1st has a lot riding on it.
ReplyDeleteEmailed them is this was what they said back today 9/29..........Hi there,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your love for Great American Family!

I emailed them, too. That was 9/30/24. So when I woke up the next morning, I turn on my TV Roku &went to frndly and there it was! I was thanking, praising God that it was still on. I watch UPfaith and family, GAFPureFlix. What a Christmas present that was! Not much that is decent on nowadays, especially Christian. God bless frndly. :)
DeleteI'm disappointed by this. I have this service so I can watch that channel for business purposes. They just sent me my renewal. Maybe I won't be renewing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like GAF has an announcement coming soon, according to it's latest Twitter post. -Maria
ReplyDeleteAww, sorry. I know many of you enjoy using that. Hope it all ends up ok.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read of this situation with Frndly and GAF. I too have sent an email to corporate about my displeasure and disappointment with the company.
ReplyDeleteIf they drop GAF, I drop Frndly. It is that simple.
-Gabe’s Mom
Net❤️ Everyone else, Thank you for letting me know.
ReplyDeleteI have not hardly watched anything off Frndly in weeks because of work, but I certainly have recorded a lot.
I was short & sweet with my message- if they drop GAF when my subscription is up I drop them!!
Wherever you'll live-
Be careful & safe.
Carolina's, Florida & Georgia we are lifting up lots of Prayers for All involvedππ
Woohoo! GAF and Frndly TV have resolved their negotiations. GAF will be on Frndly TV without interruption. Bring on the Christmas movies!!
ReplyDeleteJim, I was sooo thrilled that this was resolved, too... an early Christmas gift for us!!! Yippee!!!! :)
DeleteAlso found out from a Frndly TV representative that the Happy & Friends 24/7 Christmas music channel will start on November 1st. They have added that channel to the guide the last couple of years in November and December. They are doing it again this year. LOVE that channel!
ReplyDeleteJim, Yay!! I'm glad you asked them about that. I popped in my fireplace dvd the other night and started wondering when Happy & Friends would be back. I love watching the kittens frolic in front of the fireplace. :) ~~Jane
DeleteJim and Jane, I love that Happy & Friends Yule Log, too! It's always so peaceful and sweet to watch throughout the Christmas season.
DeleteLike Jane said, I'm also so glad you asked about that, Jim, and found out this special news. Thank you for sharing with us!!! I can almost hear Bing, Perry and Andy Williams singing now! :)
Jane, so happy I have another Christmas nut like me! I thought for sure I was the only one that loved that channel so much that I remembered to even ask them about it a month early lol. Something about having that channel on, even if just in the background playing the music, gives me so much comfort and joy. That channel alone at Christmas time makes the monthly fee at Frndly TV worth it to me. Sure, I could pop on an old YouTube video of Happy and Friends but just not the same. I love that it's an actually 24/7 channel for two months. One year, I tried to talk them into living that channel on all year or at least through the winter lol...they didn't buy it.
DeleteNet, just saw your message after I replied to Jane. I KNEW you HAD to be right there with us on this channel ha-ha. Peaceful and sweet to watch...another great way to describe it. The representative actually asked his supervisor for me lol. The supervisor said Nov 1st it will crank up again.
DeleteI read how movie and tv production has gone down 40%! I really don't think GAF will make it.
ReplyDeleteMisty
That's nothing to be concerned about. Remember, they have 2 shows in production right now, plus they have an Easter movie in the works and they're probably already planning next year's lineup as we speak.
DeleteThey'll be fine, no real reason to doubt their existence! -Maria
Sorry, but is there really a reason to think that? We're getting 2 shows next year, and plans are already in the works for Easter and Christmas next year.
DeleteGAF will be fine, as it always has been. -Maria
You may very well be right Misty.
DeleteI've been commenting all year on the number of new Rom.Coms there have been but 40% less is an extremely high number - Florence
Misty, I think that's why Great American Media purchased Pure Flix; they know the future is streaming.
DeleteHowever, I also believe Great American Family will draw many viewers throughout the holiday season and like Maria said with their upcoming series, "When Hope Calls" Season 2 and "County Rescue."
The economy (as we all know) has hit hard times right now, which I'm sure is also a major factor for movie production companies. If this turns around next year following this upcoming election, then production may increase, as well.
