🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

Love at Sky Gardens

Original Air Date: October 10, 2021

Starring: Jenny Raven and Andrew Bushell

Story-line via UPtv: Deirdre’s life is split between her day job as a barista and her passion for designing rooftop gardens. When Deirdre accidentally spills coffee on regular customer and event planner, Marcus, before a big meeting with his boss, it sets the wrong tone for him to discuss a job promotion. Deirdre offers to help Marcus get back on track by lending her rooftop garden design services for his boss’ next big event—a wedding! His boss agrees to Deirdre’s help but also wants Jacob, Marcus’ competition for the promotion, to co-plan the wedding. As they work around the clock together, Marcus and Deirdre notice something more about each other and love takes root. But a series of misunderstandings threaten to wilt their growing love. It will take a small miracle to bring them back together where love blossoms—Sky Gardens.

Movie Review:

"I screened this movie before the premiere; I thought it was rather average and lacking chemistry. Lead girl, Deirdre, works at a coffee shop as a barista, but also creates designs for rooftop sky gardens. Deirdre has a serious crush on Marcus, a regular customer she calls “cute suit,” but she never really speaks to him. Her co-worker, a guy, encourages her to talk to him and ask him out – including the comment, “If you don’t, I will.” They both laugh and she pokes him on the arm; it’s not obvious if he’s serious or teasing. The next morning - we see Marcus (cute suit guy), who is insecure at his big corporate job at Sky Events, coming out of his shower at home – he’s seen from the waist up, wet, and shirtless – he grabs a towel and puts it around his waist – giving himself a pep talk in the mirror. I thought it was a bit too much. Did we really need to see him so exposed? Later on, when both Deirdre and Marcus are having a bad day – she accidentally spills coffee on his suit. She tries to apologize to him, but he just insults her as a barista. Deirdre sticks up for herself and tells him, she doesn’t just pour coffee, she creates beautiful, eco, sky gardens, too. He kind of laughs it off as not being serious, but when a famous couple comes in to Sky Events looking for something unique, spiritual and earthy for their wedding, Marcus blurts out the sky garden idea, and they, of course, love it. Then, Marcus desperately needs Deirdre’s help to make it happen. She agrees and encourages the job as Marcus is just about to back out. The story was a bit more intriguing as Deirdre and Marcus began the rooftop sky garden project, but overall, it was not a keeper for me." ~Net

Calling for Love

Original Air Date: October 17, 2021

Starring: Karissa Lee Staples and Tajh Bellow

Story-line via UPtv: Successful podcast host Samantha Desouza has a passion for music and an aversion to romance after a recent bad experience. Just when her show is thriving, she is thrown in the deep end by her boss and re-assigned to host Heartwaves, a feel-good love songs show with a segment that reunites lost loves. Despite her initial lack of enthusiasm, her first caller is the charismatic and charming Jake who has a problem she’s determined to help solve. What they didn’t expect was to fall for each other in the process. Now Sam must decide whether to shy away from love again, or to be a little more spontaneous and follow her heart…

Movie Review:

"Calling for Love- This is a lighthearted, fun movie; the characters are sometimes quirky, but likeable. The premise is a little outlandish, however it's heartfelt. Jake is a mechanic/hopeless romantic, who meets a girl named Becky while fixing her car. He asks her out and she gives him her number, but when his phone is destroyed, the number is lost and he assumes his chance at seeing her again is also lost forever, but Jake turns to a popular podcast to help him find what he believes is his lost love. Podcast host Samantha Desouza is a bit cynical about love since her last break up, but she’s there to help Jake in his search for Becky. Along the way, Jake and Samantha begin to have feelings (surprise!) for one another, but there are several bumps in the road… including Becky! This rom-com is family friendly." ~Net

  4. Overcomer is a FANTASTIC movie! I would highly recommend it to everyone. (Having said that, it is a Christian movie so that might bother some people...but probably not many that come to your website.)

  5. I can't understand what is going on here.

Eat, Drink and Be Married and Calling For Love are from Reel One Entertainment but from quite far back and as Net says may have been aired somewhere before - I seem to think I have already seen them.

I can't find out anything at all about Love At Sky Gardens.

For some reason Reel recently appears to have stopped listing the TV Channel if a film has been taken up by them.

I really should forget about it and just enjoy the Christmas Movies but I am worried about UPtv's plans for next year - (hopefully needlessly)! - Florence

    1. Florence, Good news on the Reel One Entertainment front... UPtv has added "A Picture Perfect Wedding" to end it's October movie premieres. Hopefully, this will be good news for more of these movies from REEL in the new year!

    2. That is great news, Net.

Thanks for the heads-up. Again Reel haven't listed it as being taken up.

This almost certainly means that the UP Christmas programme in full is the 5 movies you have listed.

Interestingly, Hallmark and Lifetime will already be in full swing with their Christmas programme.

Makes me feel a bit easier about what UP might supply in January - there are a good half-a-dozen films on Reel at the minute which I just hope they will air.

    3. I'm also thinking "Christmas in the Wilds" will be included and possibly "Christmas in the Rockies," too; however, I am awaiting official word from UPtv on those. Hopefully they'll be a few other surprises, too! ⛄🎄❄

  6. I don't watch a lot of their movies, but I'll keep an eye out for these.

The one this past Sunday was really good. I watched it on the second airing.

  9. Uptv premiered 5 Christmas movies last year so it's likely that the five movies Net has listed in the Christmas Movie List may be their full complement for 2021 - Florence

    1. Also, I want to add, it is a blessing to see UPtv continue to add religious themed / faith-based movies to their line-up. I hope we continue to see more programming like this at Christmas and in the new year.

    2. Agree. Would like to see GAC Family take on faith content too.

  13. Hallmark could air new movies from Reel One Entertainment last year 2020; the rest of the movie went missing or other movies like Candlelight Entertainment could add those movies
