ReplyDeleteThe show must go on—but when?!
ReplyDeleteWhen Calls the Heart is on “creative hiatus”while producers decide how to proceed with the show’s sixth season following the news of Lori Loughlin’s alleged involvement in a massive college scandal. Some of the Hallmark series’ stars, like Pascale Hutton and Paul Greene have spoken out, reminding Hearties to remain calm during this uncertain time.
Brian Bird, the producer of the show, posted a new update in April echoing their statements. “Thanks for your continuing patience, and never lose heart. Keep watching and waiting for news of the return,” he wrote alongside a photo of Hope Valley looking as beautiful as ever.
If you want a more concrete answer as to when you might see Elizabeth Thatcher on TV again, you’re not alone. It seems even the actors are uncertain about when the period drama might come back.
“I don’t know anything, I know as much as you guys,” Chris McNally, who plays Lucas Bouchard, told North Shore News. “I’m totally in the dark about this.”
Another question fans have is how the network will handle Lori’s character, Abigail Stanton. Some fear they might kill her off, like they did with Daniel Lissing’s Jack, while others have theories about how they might recast Abigal. (Many are guessing Candace Cameron Bure, but judging by her firm support of Lori, we doubt that will be a possibility.)
While no one seems to know exactly when WCTH will return, we can at least take comfort that it’s not cancelled for good.
Jack Wagner (Bill Avery) recently posted to Instagram about returning to Vancouver, which is where “When Calls the Heart” is filmed, and he tagged the show in the comments and included the “hearties” hashtag. It’s unclear, though, if he’s in the area to redo scenes for the show or just “When Calls The Heart” co-creator Brian Bird shared an update on Season 6 of the series. there to film his new Hallmark movie, “Wedding March 5,” which is set to begin production on Monday, according to Creative BC.
ReplyDeleteHallmark had no comment when International Business Times reached out about Wagner possibly filming new scenes for “WCTH.”
“When Calls The Heart” co-creator Brian Bird shared an update on Season 6 of the series.
When Spring brings hope, #Hearties. What Hope Valley looked like at the crack of dawn today,” Bird tweeted. “Thanks for your continuing patience and never lose heart. Keep watching and waiting for news of the return of Season 6 of @WCTH_TV on @hallmarkchannel and @SCHeartHome.”
Bird isn’t the only one from the “When Calls the Heart” team to reach out to Hearties this week. Paul Greene (Dr. Carson Shepherd) let fans know on Twitter he appreciates all of their “support and commitment” and that the cast, crew and fans will “get through this all together.”
“We are all excited to get back to Hope Valley soon,” he ended the tweet.
Seconding his comment, the other half of Team Infirmary, Andrea Brooks (Faith Carter), shared Greene’s tweet with her followers and added a couple heart emojis to it.
While an official air date for Season 6, episode 4 of “When Calls the Heart” has not yet been revealed, Hearties should at least feel a bit more at ease knowing that a date has been set and that Bird will announce it as soon as he’s given the go-ahead.
I missed this movie, but it sounds interesting! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my all time favorite Hallmark movies. I don't know how they did it, but they managed a fresh take on the Hallmark formula. It's at least partly due to the leads who just worked together beautifully. It was fun and fresh and a movie I want to watch over and over again.
ReplyDeleteITA..it was a surprisingly good movie and much to do with lead casting..well done HMπ
DeleteThe "When Calls the Heart" page on Hallmark's website shows the next episode will air for three minutes on Wednesday, April 10, too.
ReplyDelete“When Calls the Heart” executive producer Brian Bird tweeted Monday morning that “Hearties” — the nickname for “When Calls the Heart” fans — won’t want to miss the episode.
“Something is happening on your cable and satellite systems Wednesday,” he tweeted.
“You really, really do not want to miss it. Really,” he tweeted, adding four spoon emojis, followed by “You’re welcome.”
He pointed to the time slot of 2 p.m. EST, 1 p.m. Central, 12 p.m. MT and 11 a.m. PST.
Yes! I know ALL Hearties are excited and anticipating what this latest news will be! I was also intrigued when I saw this appear on Twitter yesterday.
DeleteI also posted the info - HERE!
Thank you so much for sharing! Blessings, Net
I really enjoyed this movie, Net. I loved the comedic side of Sara and Jordan and they pulled it off perfectly along with the community garden and flower scenario. Jordan's clever relocation project was a perfect ending to a sweet love story.
