I hope You All have had and continue to have... a Splendiferous, Wonderful Christmas Season! I know I have cherished every moment - and I pray you are all doing the same!
I just fell in love with this Christmas card... it reminds me of treasured photographs of my Momma and Daddy when they were children at Christmas!
How sweet and innocent are the children singing in the picture, and I love the nativity in the window which displays the *True Meaning of Christmas*...
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

In regards to Christmas movies, we have been blessed with another year of original, new Christmas movies on our televisions. We didn't have to go to the theater, buy a ticket, be tempted by expensive popcorn that smells & tastes sooooo good. Nope, we could see everything from the warmth, comfort, and safety of our homes!
Several networks gave us a mix of Christmas movies and cartoons this year... including: the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, UP, ION, Lifetime, NBC, Disney, Sprout, Nick, and Freeform! As far as generosity goes, the Hallmark Channel has given the most, with new movies every weekend, (as most of you know!)... including this upcoming Christmas Weekend... with a sneak peek to the Season 4 of "When Calls the Heart"... with the premiere of "When Calls the Heart Christmas!" What a wonderful gift to all fans (Hearties!) of this delightful family show and series, which begins once again on...

Wonderful post Net. Absolutely love the postcard picture. It's filled with warmth.
ReplyDeleteThe joy I receive in entering this blog is immeasurable. All year long and especially through the Christmas season. In entering this site it's as if I stand at the door of Christmas past and Christmas present. As I am about to enter, though not realizing it, a blinding snowy wind starts to swirl all around me and I become disoriented a bit of where I am, as I am being swept up into the wonderful warm memories of Christmas past and then swept back to the present for new ones. Flying through the portal of time like an angel.
The true Christmas spirit lives in this place through the thread of time. The veil to heaven gets thinner.
Jim, your words take my breath away. I'm so happy I can help bridge the gap between Christmas past & present! That is a beautiful place to be! And, if you think this site is special... well, I want you to know it's because of wonderful, special people like YOU who visit and share here, not only in Movies, but the true JOY of Christmas... JESUS!!!

Thank you so much for giving us so much joy throughout the year! I have been reading your blog faithfully for years but I have never commented before. But, after reading your lovely post, I felt compelled to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Whenever I come here, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! I never know what gifts I am going to find. Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you and your family. :-)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Net and all who visit here! This is my favorite spot on the net!
ReplyDeleteThank you Net for your wonderful card and message! Not to diminish the new Christmas movies, songs, etc., but there is something about the older Christmas cards, the classic Christmas songs, and the old black-and-white Christmas movies that really move me and remind me of a more innocent time, a time where love of God and love of family surpassed everything else about Christmas. Let us all remember to spread that love around this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNet, many blessings to you and your family this Christmas season!
